  1. He's probably trying reverse psychology now. It didn't work dissing us every week, time to start putting us under a different psychological pressure. But seriously, they were talking about this on SEN last night. Win this week against St Kilda and I think it really sets up our season.
  2. Dom Tyson. 31 disposals, 2 goals, both of them when the heat was on. Was consistent for almost the entire game. 3 - Viney 2 - Tyson 1 - Gawn
  3. Thought so. I couldn't believe they didn't go up top for that one. Particularly, when they bothered to go upstairs for Jeffy's one off the ground earlier in the game, which was obviously a goal. The umpiring was bewildering at times tonight.
  4. I haven't seen the replay yet, but did they replay Vince's 'touched on the line' fourth shot? From our view in the forward pocket it was over by a metre.
  5. As I posted in the other thread, he's on 9, possibly 10 votes to the end of Round 5.
  6. I don't know why anyone thinks Hogan would go to Freo and take years off his career by flying back and forth across the country every second week. It's that idiot Langdon. I think Jesse will sign a big deal with us, but if he doesn't, we're more likely to lose him to another Melbourne-based club.
  7. Yeah, saw the replay of this on the way home. I don't think there's anything in it, but I love that he basically threw a KPD on the ground and Viney's what, 5 foot 7? What a legend.
  8. My Carlton supporting mate made a good point about Rance's snipe. I heard on SEN and the ABC that they thought he might get a week for it. What Rance did was incredibly dangerous. I know there are a lot of cheap shots or 'making them earn it' clips over the ears at points, but what he did was almost akin to a King hit. Dog. Anyway, my mate said he said get 4-5 weeks for it. I don't think he will miss that many.
  9. Just want to put it out there. Viney is on 9 Brownlow votes. 3 against the Giants, 3 against the Pies and 3 against the Tigers. He may have even snuck one against the Roos. Not bad after 5 rounds.
  10. Fair enough, mate. Just thought he was slow of mind tonight a number of times. There was a terrific handball at one point over the back of his head. I'll be interested to watch the replay. He seemed to really lack vision tonight. A number of times he had teammates on and chose the wrong option and turned it over. But only up from here. I love that we don't rely on him to win games and whilst he is important to our structure, with our role playing system, we don't rely on any one player. I like that Hogan isn't afraid to go back and drop back in front of opposition forwards. We're going alright!!!
  11. You beauty! Go the redlegs. Try as Tommy Mac might (three times) to turn the momentum with absolute brainfades, we still managed to overrun them comprehensively. Viney, Tyson and Gawn were absolutely superb. Worst game I've seen Hogan play. I can't recall too many times he had an effective disposal or took a contested mark. Some terrific possession chains that resulted in goals. How long is it since we've seen us to do that end to end transition consistently across a match? Soon it will become automatic. We look like we're on track for my 10-12 wins. I'll say it again. You beauty!
  12. Dom Tyson has been taking the first option, the boys have spread really well from the contests and he's looked terrific. Well done, Dom. Keep going.
  13. Gee, I'm excited by Hunt. Good one on one, good spoiler, great runner and has some awareness. Love it.
  14. Yeah, there is a bit of guesswork in determining the jump between the VFL and the big league. His class and footy smarts got Jack into the right positions last night, but when the game was on the line, he didn't have that quick two second burst that can give you that little bit of time (that Clarry seems to have). Given this was a step down in intensity, he'll have even less time against AFL quality opposition. Therefore, where he plays when he returns to us is very important.
  15. Whereas I get the feeling no one can say anything negative about the guy, because we all want him to succeed after the hell he's been through.
  16. Brayshaw doesn't play in the guts as often. He's more damaging off half back or half forward at the moment. In terms of clearances, Tyson's third or fourth in line behind Jones, Vince and Oliver. Tyson is underrated on this forum. He gets caught a lot and believe me, it annoys me too, but he's a pure ball winner, who's had an injury checkered past. His 2014 was brilliant. If given a run at it and with the right support, he's just as capable again.
  17. Tyson is a better ball winner for mine. Trenners is a better decision maker. I'd have Tyson in my team every week. Trenners will get his chance soon, but I don't think it should be at the expense of Tyson.
  18. It's interesting being on the end of a controversial opinion around here. We don't take too kindly to it. And now one poster says that some of us are "willing Trengove to fail" because it suits our narrative. Turn it up. If he's slow, he's slow. Is that the end of the world? No. I watched him for at least two years run around at AFL level playing in the midfield and it looked as though he was running in cement. That certainly affected his ability to impact at the highest level. I'm sorry, but let's not sugarcoat it. He still looks just as slow as he did under duress. Does that mean he won't make it if played in the right position? No. But let's get real here. Regards, Sassmagas.
  19. Tries to take on tacklers and gets caught and his poor decision making and disposal lets him down. It did seem as though our game plan falls down because we have too many blokes who turn it over under no pressure. Terlich is a major culprit.
  20. I do want to reiterate something. I hope Trenners makes it back and I still think he can, but I wouldn't have him in our midfield. Did enjoy some of his leadership. Really supporting the younger MFC listed blokes. Petracca looks explosive and exciting breaking away from stoppages. He's a nice kick. He executed another of those 35m kicks that barely got off the ground but went straight down Trenners' throat. Very lippy as many have stated. At the huddles you could hear him demanding more of his team mates. During the three quarter time huddle he was getting on Grimes' back about having a lot more time than he thought and ensuring he used it better.
  21. So apart for a five minute burst at the start of the quarter we've barely touched it. I stand by my original post.
