  1. I just watched the replay and missed that myself, so maybe that's how?
  2. Wanted him traded as early as 2013. I'm glad he's finally pushed off. What a one dimensional player. Fortunately, he's no longer our problem.
  3. Not sure if I agree with this. I thought Jetta was very good. And we've seen what Grimes offers at AFL level. He's not good enough. Interestingly, I also suggested it might be too. That's the picture I have of Gussy too, but that's because we didn't have Oliver. Playing him forward allows him to play across the forward arc and he's just so damaging. He only needs to get it 15 times to have created 5 goals. Imagine what will happen we he can get 25+. Agreed. Great synergy back there today. Very exciting.
  4. Yeah, it sounds like Jeffy will miss another week. Would love to have him back in next week though.
  5. Fair enough. I disagree about the forwardline not suiting Brayshaw though. I think he's so dangerous. He's clever and has elite disposal. He created so many chances today and looks reasonably dangerous one out. But the beauty of Clarry is he allows Brayshaw to play full time in the forward line and develop further. Roos and co really have turned this club around. We are allowing blokes like Petracca to work up a head of steam in the VFL; ANB getting 30 odd every week and still can't get a game; and midfield talents like Brayshaw now have the luxury of playing whole games forward and developing. It's terrific. Isn't two weeks a long time in footy? And yeah, I'd give Hunt another run next week.
  6. As they should have. But, you're right, it was good to see. Viney is bloody awesome. Leading the way.
  7. I wonder if Clarry will make way for Jeffy. Give him a week's rest. Brayshaw needs to keep playing.
  8. Geez, our young fellas are impressive. Hunt, Wagner and Harmes. Fantastic.
  9. Watching the replay now and I'd still like Salem into the midfield, please. Perhaps with Bernie back, he and Salem can rotate between half back and the centre? In other news. Wowee. Imagine our midfield with Prestia. Salivating. I wonder if Petracca will play in the midfield this year too.
  10. Anyone notice how many left footers we have in the team now? We've gotta learn to run to the correct side to give to those players and ensure they're on the left side. Wagner, Salem, Bugg, Viney, Kent, Kennedy, Tyson. Have I missed any? Hello, Hawthorn.
  11. That makes sense. The first time I recall Oliver coming onto the ground was about half way through the first quarter.
  12. Good on you, Jane. It must be tough being married to a Pie.
  13. He didn't look tired, but I suspect they're still managing his minutes. Does anyone know what percentage of game time he played today?
  14. Agree, Sue, but the umpire might have been murdered by Collingwood supporters if he'd called that back. He also took five though and at least a couple were contested. He can certainly tidy up his game, but I've seen him do worse with those hands. And wasn't he just worth it?
  15. Quietish, but worked really hard. Laid 8 tackles and makes such good decisions. Love the boy.
  16. Exactly. Since Round 2, we've gone back to the NAB challenge game style. No doubt about it. Only managed it for one quarter (the final one) against GWS, but now we attack at all costs and I love it. Okay, we're making mistakes because we're inexperienced back there as you say, but it's a great brand of footy that reminds me of Geelong circa 2007-2011. The coaches and the FD should take their hats off. We've slowly injected pace off half back and don't we look so much better as a result?
  17. Bit of love for Viney? He has been A grade this year.
  18. Thought it was a terrific team performance today, but there were some really important individual efforts as well. Viney and Gawn in the middle (they are becoming A grade) and Watts up forward. Bugg's disposal is messy and I'd say even poor, but his attack on the footy is usually first class. It's also the best I've seen our zonal defence work. We still made some mistakes back there, so definitely some stuff to work on, but we had a couple of young blokes back there. Hunt's debut was exciting and Wagner built on his solid first week to play an excellent game today. It was also interesting to see Kent spend some more time in the midfield this week. He still makes some silly mistakes, but if he continues to build, I'll happily ingest that humble pie come the end of the year. Competition for spots is certainly heating up. Let's get that TV deal signed and a few more of these performances and Jesse will be signing on the dotted line. Oh and thought Frost played his best game for the club. Not always great to look at, but his pace was really important today. Our press with Kennedy, Kent, Frost, Hogan and even Pedersen was fantastic. We also got our zones right all day. Collingwood didn't work hard enough and they are clearly down on confidence now, but they continually looked up and had no one to kick to when they had ball in hand. That's a credit to our organisation - Watts and Hogan also both showed terrific leadership at points, directing traffic from half back and ensuring their team mates were in the right positions. I want to see us bury Richmond next week, but surely we've now dispelled those posters who say we haven't improved. Essendon was disgusting, but our last two weeks have been terrific. We've been far more consistent within games and that is a clear improvement on previous years.
  19. So made my way down to the Collingwood race to remind Eddie that he has three chins and was told by a tuck shop lady doubling as a Collingwood supporter that "at least we don't spit on our players", which I thought was a strange response. Anyway, go the mighty red legs!!!! Beating that feral mob is always bloody brilliant!
  20. Some of the stuff I've heard hints that, to use a dated euphemism, he is wearing the pants in this relationship. That said, I'm sure the FD knew they needed to draft another forward too.
  21. Gee, Grundy reads it well. Such a solid player. He'd be the first name on the team sheet every week, I reckon.
  22. I'm just glad we got Roos and not Malthouse. He, along with their recruiters, have stuffed them up. Oh and probably Carlton's arrogance at thinking they were close to a flag. In hindsight, should have stuck with Ratten.
  23. Agreed, although Trengove has very neat skills. He's stronger by foot than Cripps.
  24. I'm not sure he has the skills to play as a half forward. He's not quick enough either. Gun inside mid, but you're right, mate. Seems to be spending more time outside of the centre square.
