  1. Sorry kids sings from your exact playbook, so no one else...
  2. Brand also means game style. And no one is saying our culture is perfect. Don't put words into our mouths.
  3. Just tell them that they've only just levelled us for flags. Get back to us when they surpass us. (yes, I know, that could happen next year) Staggering that we haven't drafted a player from WA since Hogan in 2012. Who is our WA scout? Does anyone know? That said, we haven't had a first rounder pick since 2015 when we landed Oliver (and to a lesser extent, Weideman).
  4. Who ever said that brand (ie game style) and culture don't mean anything? Goodwin banged on about brand all last year and I, and many others, bang on about game style all the time. Such a condescending poster at times, mate.
  5. He won't seek a trade, but if we can satisfy the Suns with pick 3... Keep Petracca. Has more x factor and power than Gus or Viney. They're the ones you trade, but not for King. For other mids that can compliment Oliver, Harmes and Petracca. So good users by foot and those with a bit of gut-running and pace about them.
  6. Continuity is definitely important, but if you get your defensive system right, we should be able to plug and play a bit, as well as cover for injuries, providing we don't have too many.
  7. Exactly mate. Both are depth players or at the very best, fringe 22 players that shouldn't play every game if we're flying.
  8. Aren't the Stringrays part of our zone now too? That'd be right.
  9. We can bounce back quickly with a simpler game style built on hard running and cleaner structures, but on a solid defensive 6 and a predictable but dangerous forward line built around two key marking talls, some zippy smalls and Melksham/Fritsch. King would immediately improve our forwardline. The guy is a beast and his height makes him very hard to defend against. Will explode next year.
  10. Sounds very much like you're more hopeful than anything else, mate. Richmond win it unfortunately.
  11. I'm doing what I did last year as I can't bare to watch it properly. I'll watch from three quarter time onwards if it's close. I expect Richmond to win easily. Urgh.
  12. I'd go Gaff again. Trade out anyone other than Oliver from our midfield and get what we need to deal with the Eagles. Need better ball users surrounding Oliver and whilst I like the move for Langdon for what he brings aerobically, he's not going improve our ball skills. I'd keep Harmes as well. A hard running, goal kicking midfielder who is only going to get better. A real success story for our rookie list too. Petracca needs to step up next year and cement his spot in the midfield. He has the capacity to emulate Martin IMO, but only if he improves his tank. That leaves Viney and Gus as players that are tradeable for the right price. Both are potentially really good players, but our midfield is too samey and if we want to improve our midfield, we need to trade out one or two. Cue Demonland flaming. Oh and I'd trade pick 3 for Ben King. Thanks very much. ?
  13. Mister Taylor is really going to earn his bickies this year. If we can nail an elite mid to compliment Oliver and Harmes in there, it could set us up for the next 5-6 years.
  14. You don't usually want Demonland's answer to 'old man yells at the sky', backing up your arguments though.
  15. Agreed that he shouldn't have been a walk up starter, but it's not like we've been blessed with wingers or outside players in the last few years. I don't really care that Billy was drafted as an inside mid. He won't make it as an inside mid and needs to make it on the outside or in another position.
  16. Yep, Petty did well forward, but I reckon he's ultimately an interceptor at the back.
  17. I'm wondering if the well-connected @Chook in Perth has any news on potential INs for 2020?
  18. I don't think Billy is quite good enough but Goodwin/FD completely stuffed up his development. I remember him progressing in 2016 and then he went back into his shell as he was yo-yoed in and out of the team in 2017. This was clearly an important time in his development, because he's never recovered. Without fail, he holds the ball up and questions his decision making every time he gets it. In 2016, he didn't. Whatever's been said to him during 2017 rocked him and it's probably time he tried a new environment.
  19. I thought you said it did? If it's the difference between Frost and Elliott, it's just as easily the difference between a two year deal with ANB.
  20. Keath would have been a good get as a predictable, solid citizen. Frost is completely unpredictable and doesn't engender trust with team mates and their positioning. May, Keath and Lever playing interceptor would have been great. I wonder if we've got anything else up our sleeve. Otherwise, maybe Petty has to go back a year earlier than I would have hoped.
  21. Because historically a team might win a few more games, but that doesn't mean a team winning less games won't catapult above them the following year. Look at Melbourne and Geelong between 2004-2007. Or Brisbane last year and this year. 15th to 2nd.
