Yep, and I'd also like to see Harmes up there, this season. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2018-10-01/gawn-wins-his-first-bluey 2018 Melbourne best and fairest votes 1 Max Gawn 657 2 Clayton Oliver 595 3 James Harmes 468 4 Nathan Jones 449 5 Tom McDonald 433 6 Angus Brayshaw 429 7 Jake Melksham 428 8 Christian Salem 403 9 Neville Jetta 383 10 Jordan Lewis 366 11 Jesse Hogan 365 12 Oscar McDonald 346 13 Alex Neal-Bullen 322 14 Michael Hibberd 317 15 Christian Petracca 268 16 Bayley Fritsch 261 17 Jack Viney 244 18 Charlie Spargo 209 19 Mitch Hannan 182 20 Sam Frost 174 21 Bernie Vince 171 22 Jake Lever 149 23 Dominic Tyson 125 24 Aaron vandenBerg 125 25 Jeff Garlett 105 26 Sam Weideman 100 27 Joel Smith 71 28 Josh Wagner 63 29 Jay Kennedy-Harris 61 30 Dean Kent 55 31 Tim Smith 40 32 Tomas Bugg 39 33 Billy Stretch 21 34 Jayden Hunt 16 35 Cameron Pedersen 10 36 Corey Maynard 7 37 Harley Balic 0 38 Oskar Baker 0 39 Mitchell King 0 40 Harrison Petty 0 41 Dion Johnstone 0 42 Pat McKenna 0 43 Declan Keilty 0 44 Lachlan Filipovic 0
  2. cheers Jack. Is that, a very dark blue background I see, behind the very warm statement ? It could do with some extra 'deep heat' flames, on there ? .
  3. I think, when you stop trying to improve your abilities, it's time to leave. Resting on laurels, or potential, is a cop out... leading to the door. We have cleared some each year, under Goody.
  4. The concept of status is wrong, IMV. I think it status that destroyed him in mind ? Status is a false hood as we are all born and die equal. Status is a pecking order made up by those who wish to feel high and mighty. IMO the true goal should be to play for the love and respect of your teammates... club supporters... and wider society. That is not status... because its about Real-Love and Appreciation. see Robbie Flower... he did not play for status, but played to give his all. He served us, in a way, similar as jesus, was said to serve his people. Not for some pecking order. Chickens want a pecking order... that is a sort of abuse and an aggression based concept... more like in a dictatorial model. see trump. see putin... status orientation. those US people are getting what they asked for. .
  5. I thinking that recruitment of too young a football player onto our main list, to play footy, has hairs on it. rookie spot at 17, OK... or 16Yr old cadet, yes... but not onto the main list. I think they can't handle the fame, the required maturity, and the pressure of expectation. I think it spoils their thinking.
  6. Yeah.. he's back up in Sydney... ? ... testing the waters. Is there any word that Sydknee want to off load Buddy. and ease some cap space ?
  7. I wish everyone a very Merry Xmas. .... and the best 2019 we could hope for ? .
  8. 'Sustainable palm oil' may not be so sustainable after all Vision of an orangutan seemingly under assault from heavy machinery in Indonesia went viral on social media last week, briefly putting the issue of illegal palm oil operations back in the spotlight. The footage, originally shot in 2014, shows the animal clambering to get away while an excavator pushes the lone tree it is sheltering in to the ground. The men who can be seen pursuing the animal were from International Animal Rescue (IAR) and the Agency for the Conservation of Natural Resources (BKSDA) and were attempting to sedate and capture the animal before relocating it. In an attempt to stop scenes like this, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) set up the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) in 2004, with industry partners and social-environmental organisations. ............................................... And in 2011 the RSPO trademark was launched as a way to certify products containing sustainably grown palm oil. Today, many of the biggest producers of things such as chocolate, shampoo, chips, household cleaning products, cosmetics, and even pet foods are members of RSPO and claim their palm oil comes from sustainable sources. It is often difficult to tell which products contain palm oil though, because Australian guidelines allow more generic terms like "vegetable oil" or "vegetable fat" to be listed on product packaging instead. And palm oil is the most widely used "vegetable oil" in the world. Many have criticised RSPO, saying it provides cover for corporate palm oil stakeholders to carry on with business as usual. .
  9. thanks guys... Nah, I understood... but I made a tangent back to where we've recently been... to have a smite at some high IQ, high maintenance players... who WE transported off to another place. 'IQ', is not replacement for commitment, dedication and plain hard work. just ask godfrey. the hard worker... when others wanted to be traffic cops, or generals, or pick and choose when to 'go', and when to lye down on the ground. ... someone recently said something about, the "NoN-Negotiables" in Footy... and that person is of High 'IQ'. and one of the greats. Merry Xmas to young Christian. and come back to work your butt off, boyo. literally_ .
  10. Hi Deemns56... watts the bid deal with high IQ... we've had that before, and jettisoned some of IT... You know, Steven Hawking would have been a lousy AFL player. I am happy with the likes of ANB & Harmes running amok... and even Peussy playing hard up forward. .
  11. Well I don't know what you were going on about in my posts... if you don't mind intimidatory actions in sport.
  12. seen it here first L&G... ? I think he needs a pay-rise, to help him prefer RednBlue colours. https://twitter.com/melbournefc?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1075893609629573120&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemonland.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Fapp%3Dcore%26module%3Dsystem%26controller%3Dembed%26url%3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Fmelbournefc%2Fstatus%2F1075893609629573120%3Fs%3D21
  13. In a sense, yes... the body has so far not been found, so we do not know. He may have died accidentally through aggression ? and still body removed and disposed of... we just don't know. But we can speculate and make assumptions, can't we. My take is, he has been murdered... but truth is I don't know. I do know I'm angry about his circumstances. Truth is in footy, what gets past is not illegal. as it has been let go through. . So, those who want to play a different game to the other clubs... then I wish those who do, would find another club to put up on a pedestal... and let us get on with winning Footy matches... and Flags. and leave our boys alone.
  14. so how do you feel about fast bowlers bowling intimidatory bouncers at all batsmen, including tail-enders? This is where i was going with that cricket question.
  15. Innocent unless proven guilty, your honor. When is selling drygs not drufg trafficking.? ?
  16. I reckon they're just having a feeler, to see how it works out. Maybe more in 2020.?
  17. Well we've been getting used to political correctness at the Dees, for the past 50 Yrs, and I still haven't got used to the feeling of losing... whilst we fly the johnny be good flag. It's not cheating if your not charged with anything, Mnd. So the rest of the competition tries to bend the rules all the way, before they are broken, and to get away with things... whilst you continue to NOT cheat in some politically correct fantasy of your own making.... but what is that exactly??? when other clubs are taking ALL their opportunities... and the flags. Do you pay all the tax you should... or do you bend the rules, just a bit, MnD ? I bet you do not answer... just come out to throw shyte, and hide.
  18. I don't want thugs... I want intimidation players, who will bruise opponents... just as Neita did on occasions. as Whelan did, as Viney does... yes deliberately bruise opponents. make them feel the pain of heavy contact to the body. but No, not the Thuggery, of yesteryear.
  19. I am not calling for punches, or to knock opponents... like was done in the 70's and 80's... but to bruise them with some intent. To create pain. I am not talking about thuggery Mandee !!! I am talking about physically softening up opposition and intimidating to distract. Are you a cricket follower, ManDee ? I think the chip is on your shoulder mandee in the way you read my words. colouring in your own palette.
  20. # Exhibit A... of what happens to our clubs footy culture, and the growth of bruise free footy. This is why 'bruise free' continues to creep back in... after we have exorcised it from within. This is how it regrows... this 'non contact type philosophy' does not fit with the rest of the AFL Footy Competition... and belongs on a soccer field, where hard tackling and physically hard contact are frowned upon. This is how our Footy Clubs Culture, continually gets pulled down and torn apart from within, by politically correct others. .
  21. Deep down in our clubs psyche... I think we are all tFearful for poor old Essendrug. And of the Hawks except that the Hawks are a different club, these days. the Roos to a lesser extent, and this fear grew out of trying to be a 'prim and proper'. politically correct club... This stemmed from Northern stand attitudes. And at the same era's, did our inability to develop our kids... and to maintain the rugged Footy Club culture. .
  22. just as the big men should. Plugger Lockett would not have been so kind, in 'HIS' territory...
  23. My concepts role-model Re the rucks crash'n'bash at important times of games... is 'Clark Keating' of the Lions. During the great 3peat. He would crash through the centre ruck-duels... risking his body, and really bashing the oppositions bigger rucks, bruising them, and splitting packs really hard, thru the middle sector of the ground, between half-forward to half-back. No big men were safe from hurt and it brought the ball to the Lions tough smaller running players and midfielders. He was tough as teak, fearless and uncompromising. He went in the shadow of other Lions Tall Players... but he was a major key factor in the Lions dominance. He made the game to be played on the Lions terms, when the ball was in the Air. Peoples... make no mistake, hurt does distract other players of lesser mental ilk... from their focus. it divides their focus from the ball, onto themselves. This loss of focus shows a lesser commitment to the cause... than the true mentally committed and tough players. (see Harmes, 2nd half of last year) relentless toughness. ... thank goodness, Goodwin has cleared most of the questionable minds out of our list. I want to see Preussy crashing through midfield packs when the ball is in the Air, spread-eagling the pack... seeking out opposition colours as front and centre. hit bodies hard. I want to see us demons becoming the Antithesis of bruise free footy. The Demons of the 40's, 50's and 60's were NOT Bruise-Free types... under 'Checker Hughes' and under 'Norm Smith'... I want US to bring that back, and were not there just, Yet.
