  1. I'd say best scenario is Scully signing right after the new TV rights and collective bargaining deals are settled. This has the advantages that it shows everyone involved to have been telling the truth and it ensures that he is being dealt with fairly and compensated according to the new salary cap rules.
  2. +1 I was about to post that.
  3. Interesting. Do we read anything into the fact that they only have one GWS player? Funny to see how many of the GC and Brisbane players they represent.
  4. They aren't offering him 6 mil. I've been over this repeatedly.
  5. You also need to factor in cost of living. Sydney is way more expensive than Melbourne. If you are looking at a contract to move to Sydney that would need to be taken into account.
  6. Player Review Comments from Josh Mahony. Nothing amazing, but worth a look. Also a couple of other interesting ones. By the numbers And Blease on his first game.
  7. Scully's management have stated clearly that he has not signed a contract. As far as I'm concerned, that is the end of it for now. He may still decide to do so, but if so it will not happen until after the season. I'm perfectly happy to wait until then to find out.
  8. Actually, I may have jumped the gun a little. He was great in the first few minutes, instrumental in their first goal with some really strong body work off the ball, but did nothing after in either of their games.
  9. Just watching the start of Richmond vs Carlton. Miller looks like he could be great value for them.
  10. "and even made great sacrifices for the sake of his career" I think that says it all. He is a young man who is willing to sacrifice for the sake of success. I, along with all Melbourne supporters, hope that he measures success not in monetary terms but rather in winning matches and premierships. If that is the case then we really have little to worry about from GWS.
  11. As I said last year, any of our young players being poached is a devastating loss. I want them all to stay, not for money, but because they are at the oldest sporting club in the game, playing with a group of like-minded talented young men and looking forward to winning multiple flags in the next decade. That is the culture we want every player to embrace. Any one of them deciding to walk is a nail in the coffin of the whole concept.
  12. Cook looked pretty good. Took some good marks, made the right decisions. I'm more than happy with his effort last night.
  13. The question now is, how excited by tonight's game are you now that it's over?
  14. I went to the first open training session he attended last year. The first thing I noticed was his kicking. He was practicing short kicks with Gysberts. While Trengove had to move a few steps to mark the ball, Gys rarely even needed to shift his feet. It was a small thing, but I thought it was worth noting. On top of this, all reports on him during the under 18 carnival talked about his ability to lift not just himself but the players around him when the pressure was on. I don't think we can speak too highly of the potential impact he can have at the club.
  15. So, can we win in Adelaide now?
  16. Jurrah!
  17. Is there a sweater phase than "Jack Watts great mark!"
  18. We're lucky they can't kick.
  19. Not a great half from us here. Lots of mistakes and careless kicks.
  20. Nice goal to Dunn.
  21. Only the top team goes through.
  22. Trenners!
  23. If we win both its a sure thing. IF everyone wins 1 it goes to percentage.
  24. Feel a bit for Howe. He flew for one mark, failed to pull it in, and did nothing else. Hope he gets a better run this game.
  25. Yeah. He and Garland seem to have been huge for us in the back half.
