  1. The strange thing is that in about 2004-2006 we played more Saturday afternoon games than Sunday afternoon. But the last couple of years we have played heaps on Sunday for some reason
  2. Are you watching the game today Dooza?
  3. I agree. Johnson never was going to stay at the club, and he deserves a lot of criticisim
  4. Won't he still continue to play for Casey when he goes back to school?
  5. I reckon they should give Dunn a run in the forward line for some of the game and see if he can kick a couple of goals.
  6. I still Can't wait to see Wonaeamirri, Jetta, Davey and perhaps Jurrah playing together.
  7. Too bad we only play them in Round 21 and it's at the Dome
  8. I hope Grimes can show his full potential on the field. He has only played one game(against Richmond in round 22 last year) and I hope when he plays again he can be an influence straight away.
  9. They both are playing reasonable footy. I thought Spencer's first two games were quite impressive, I think Bailey's resting Spencer, and giving Meesen a shot due to the fact he hasn't played yet.
  10. Not really, he has said he would play for Casey in 2-3 weeks in Round 1
  11. A good game from Lynden Dunn is my expectation. He needs to play a solid game if he wants to keep his spot in the team.
  12. I think Maric still needs to develop. He played a couple of great games (against North Melbourne and Essendon) but then he was out of the team for a couple of weeks. Hopefully he can make his way as a consistent player in the team.
  13. I can't wait to see Meesen play. Good on him for sticking around and finally getting his turn. I'm hoping that Dunn will pull up sore before the game and Maric will come in as a late inclusion- probably won't happen though
  14. It only becomes a big deal when you play on Sunday's for consecutive weeks in a row- which Melbourne have had in the last few years. It is always interesting when Melbourne play at night, even though it only happened once against Geelong last year. I never really liked Sunday games, but due to the fixtures it seems strange when Melbourne don't play on Sunday.
  15. I predict a close first half, but Port will run away victors in the end. I hope we can give a good contest but it is important to win it out of the midfield. If out midfield is up and running (McLean, Jones, Cheney, Batram and Bruce) we can win
  16. I hope Davey can have a lot of game time in the forward line for his 100th game- he has spent too much time in the midfield in recent times
  17. I reckon McLean needs to prove himself this week- he needs to step up if we wanna win
  18. Considering it may be the same team that ran out last week, that is a ridiculous statement
  19. Green will probably play most of the game in the forward line, he won't play on the ball for four quarters
  20. The interchange will almost definitley be Cheney, Jones, Spencer and Jetta. Not too sure about Ricky Petterd at full forward..
  21. If James McDonald continues to play for 2-3 more years as captain and then retires- Brad Green will be 30 or 31 as well. Green would be my choice for captain, but if Green is into his thirties it might be better to have a younger captain, the likes of McLean, Jones or maybe PJ
  22. But take this into account- Gamble and Lonergan are both out of the Geelong team tonight due to lack of form/ not needing them. Imagine Newton in their forward line
  23. Well the attendance last year in the equavilent game in Round 21 was 18,875- a season low for Port Adelaide. The power are coming in from a bad loss so my guess is 20,557
  24. I just don't get the relevance of this topic. How on earth would Newton get a game for Geelong!
  25. I agree, if Martin doesn't fulfill his duties in defence, he has to find another position for him to be comfortable in. He simply doesn't have the speed to be a key defender- that was shown last week when he played on Jack Anthony. But now with the Garland injury, Bailey might have to keep him there- Frawley and Warnock can't pull the strings on their own in the back line. Of course, Jack Grimes is due to return soon and that will help the cause, but height is the main issue and I think that's what the club needs. Martin is the sort of player who spoils or takes a relieving mark. However, his position in defence should only be kept firm if he can use those attributes whilst playing on another player.
