  1. Goals to Watts and Miller and it's out to 53 points. Watts off with a rolled ankle. Valenti has a corked hip.
  2. I will put up the details when available. Trent Zomer was the only Demon who played in the reserves. Conditions were not really made for big blokes like him but he kicked a couple.
  3. Newton kicked the only goal for the quarter and Frankston was held goalless - 8.9.57 to 3.6.24
  4. Casey Scorpions 1.2.8 7.7.49 Frankston 3.3.21 3.4.22 Goalkickers Miller 2 Bartram Creed Hughes Stockdale Wall It took a long time for the Scorps to hit their straps. Now well in control.
  5. Quarter Time: Frankston 3.3.21 lead Casey 1.2.8 Goalkicker Danny Hughes

  7. Absolutely right. I doubt whether Moloney will be playing in this game. The Scorpions have named a 13 man interchange but 4 MFC players will be eliminated tomorrow night when the Demons announce their final squad of 22. I expect one additional player will be the emergency for Sunday. In the end the team will have five interchange with Ryan (I believe that he's a Gippsland Power player) being the 23rd man under a new VFL rule allowing a TAC Cup player to take part as an extra player. As indicated in my edit of the first post on this thread, the maximum number of MFC players allowed in this game is 12.
  8. Incidentally, the Casey player # 60 who comes into shot right at the end is (I think) Jack Watts.

FRANKSTON (ABC TV) Saturday 11th July at Casey Fields - Seniors at 1.10pm The Casey Scorpions host Frankston at Casey Fields in this week's ABC match of the Day in a game where the Scorps will look to continue their form and set themselves in the top four. 11. Earlier this season Danny Hughes took a sensational mark while playing for Casey seconds against Port Melbourne at Casey Fields. Hughes was coming back after injury and it was also Jack Watts' first game. The mark won Almost Footy Legends on The Footy Show last week and has finally made its way to You Tube. Enjoy it here -
  12. Casey must be very popular with the VFL ATM. They feature in the next three Saturday telecasts on ABC1.
  13. Can't argue with that. It was very much a snooze and, as you can imagine, difficult to assess the relative performances. Good news is that Casey is now in fourth place after coming from a long way down following a thrashing at Sandringham in round 1 and a narrow defeat to Port Melbourne in Round 2. FWIW here are some of the pertinent stats from the game(s). I've included Trent Zomer's effort in the reserves - he kicked 5.8! Clint Bartram - 17 kicks 12 handballs 4 marks 8 tackles 1 goal 0 behinds Daniel Bell - 14 kicks 18 handballs 6 marks 1 goal 1 behind Kyle Cheney - 12 kicks 8 handballs 6 marks Lynden Dunn - 17 kicks 7 handballs 9 marks 3 goals 2 behinds Paul Johnson - 14 kicks 10 handballs 8 marks Jordie McKenzie - 9 kicks 8 handballs 4 marks Brad Miller - 9 kicks 9 handballs 6 marks 2 goals 3 behinds Michael Newton - 13 kicks 8 handballs - 4 marks 7 tackles 4 goals 3 behinds Shane Valenti - 7 kicks 8 handballs 1 mark 1 goal 0 behinds Matthew Whelan - 5 kicks 13 handballs 1 marks 5 tackles Trent Zomer (Reserves) - 17 kicks 4 handballs 12 marks 5 goals 8 behinds
  14. Just arrived from a freezing cold Casey Fields. As you can imagine from the scores it was a pretty one sided contest with Casey dominant all over the ground. The fact that Casey had a few players missing from injury (including skipper Kyle Matthews) made little difference. The last quarter was a bit of a cakewalk and, at one stage Lynden Dunn kicked three goals in the space of about five minutes when he was moved up forward. He also had a hand in a few others. Michael Newton had a good game and was unselfish, worked hard and tackled hard. Daniel Bell was strong and unrelenting with his tackling and Paul Johnson dominated in the ruck and around the ground. Casey tried a few blokes who came up from the reserves and all of them did well. Trent Zomer booted five in the reserves. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll put in a full report - probably tomorrow night.

  16. Three quarter time: Casey 13.14.92 to Bendigo 4.1.25 All 4 Bendigo goals have been scored in time on. We are giving them an absolute bath and you can feel the confidence riing as every minute passes. The opposition has quite a few Bomber listed players but they aren't playing with any system and, at times, it's looking like a training drill.
  17. Half Time: Casey 8.10.58 to Bendigo 3.0.18 Juice has three goals. It's a scrappy game with Casey dominating. They should be a lot further in front.
  18. Casey dominant but two late goals allowed Bendigo back into the game. Casey 4.5.29 to Bendigo 2.0.12 Newton has 2 goals, PJ & Miller 1 each.
  19. The Casey Reserves have recorded a big 110 point win over bottom of the ladder Bendigo. 21. I haven't done the arithmetic just yet but the amazing thing is that Casey will probably stay in the eight because ninth placed Sandy thrashed 7th placed Coburg whose percentage should drop down below that of the Scorps. Not much consolation but it's about time the Scorpions won a close one and stopped kicking themselves out of games of football.
  22. Oh well ... a 7 goal final quarter to the home side to win by 4 points. When you kick 7 points in the first quarter it comes to bite you on the backside. Casey Scorpions 0.7.7 4.10.34 11.13.79 12.14.86 Williamstown 2.4.16 5.6.36 6.8.44 13.12.90 Goals Casey Scorpions Newton 3 Hughes 2 Dunn Maric Matthews Stockdale Strauss Valenti Zomer Williamstown Little 4 Stack 3 Cordy Davies Everitt O’Keefe Reid Stretton Best Casey Scorpions Bell Faulks Valenti Panozza Wheatley Bartram Williamstown Callan Davies Addison Reid Gotch Everitt
  23. Good lead at 3/4 time - Casey Scorpions 11.13.79 to Williamstown 6.8.44 Valenti good that quarter. Bell worked hard.
