Maric and Bate the goalkickers. There's no sign of Matty Warnock who is the first emergency but Brad Miller and Cale Morton are on the ground. Danny Nicholls is another important Casey player out today.
  3. 5. Scorps in front.
  6. Miller gets his tenth and it's back to 2 points.
  7. Two points down - 12 minutes in.
  8. Three Quarter Time Casey Scorpions 3.0.18 7.2.44 14.9.93 Gold Coast 4.6.30 13.10.88 14.11.95
  9. Temporarily only ... goal to Swallow. Gee ... now I'm talking to myself
  10. Tappy is working hard after a slowish start. Tom McNamara goals to put the Scorps in front.
  11. Ninth to Miller - 4 points down.
  12. Miller has eight - 10 points down.
  13. Miller goals for his fifth - Casey still trails by 5 goals.
  14. No, Cale Morton is definitely not playing at Casey today. Half Time Casey Scorpions 3.0.18 7.2.44 Gold Coast 4.6.30 13.10.88 Goals Miller 3 McGough Newton Nicholls Tapscott Casey was taught a football lesson in that quarter by a well drilled young team. Tough to come back from 44 points down at half time.
  15. The Scorps are being taught a football lesson here and are they are only being kept in the game by their accuracy in front of goal. Miller has kicked three goals while Warnock is the stand out in a poor defence. Goald Coast Suns 10.9.69 Casey Scorpions 7.2.44
  16. Karmichael Hunt goals but Miller marks and kicks his second. The Suns lead by 10 points.
  17. The first two goals of the quarter kicked by the Suns. A free to Tapscott and the resulting goal reduces the Suns' lead back to 17 points.
  18. Quarter Time Casey Scorpions 3.0.18 Gold Coast 4.6.30 Goals Miller Newton Nicholls Matty Warnock is playing well in defence. Brad Miller is looking strong up forward and Juice Newton came into it late in the quarter with a couple of nice marks. Luke Tapscott is working hard but most of the others are being run off their feet.
  19. The Suns have moved to a three goal lead and are playing all over Casey. Gold Coast 4.6.30 to Casey Scorpions 2.0.12
  20. Brad Miller goals for Casey but Gold Coast answers to lead 2.4.16 to 2.0.12. Juice passes to Blease for his first kick. The Suns are troubling Casey with their pace and ball movement as well as their pressure which is causing a few turnovers.
  21. Tappy's first kick out of bounds on the full. Jack Fitzpatrick's first was intercepted. Nicholls converts from a free but Scorps trail by 2 points. The Gold Coast Suns are looking very slick.
  22. Sam Blease is out there for his first senior game. Starting on the bench. Of the named emergencies, I can see Brad Miller but not Nathan Jones. Looking for Cale but can't find him.
  23. If you're viewing the telecast on ABC this afternoon and you don't want to know the live scores, don't look here!
  24. Confirmed by the club. The 12.10 pm start was requested by Gold Coast (gives them extra time to get their flight) and the 3pm reserves start is much better than the alternative (9am). ABC telecast is delayed starting at 1:00 pm.
  25. As far as the Casey seniors were concerned, it was a game of two halves. Box Hill matched them around the ground in the first half but the Scorpions had some classy finishers in Jack Trengove and Addam Maric and, as a consequence, were more efficient in front of goal. When the rains came, Box Hill took up the slack and won the hard ball in the difficult conditions. The result was devastating as Box Hill, right on top at the stoppages, kept pushing forward and the final result embarrased the visitors who managed only a single goal in the second half. Ben MacReadie was tireless throughout and finished with 23 touches. Acting captain James Wall (19 disposals) and Matt Fieldsend (18) tried hard. Of the Demons it was a nice touch that two schoolmates from Adelaide were reunited. Jack Trengove made a fantastic start with 10 touches in the first quarter. He finished with 13 kicks, 8 handballs, 6 marks and 2 goals. His mate Tappy worked hard all day and managed 12 kicks 7 handballs and 6 marks. Jack will be back next week while Tappy might have to wait his time but is a definite chance for a game before the end of the year. Neville Jetta was tireless and creative with 19 disposals as was Matty Bate (18). Matty Warnock was the pick of the defenders (10 kicks, 6 handballs, 8 marks). The story of the stats however, was there was a major drop off in numbers in the second half. When the weather changed, the Scorps went missing.
