  1. Matt Little dominant up forward as Casey struggle to go forward. Willy leads by 4 goals.
  2. That was a real quarter of lost opportunity for Casey. Casey Scorpions 1.3.9 Williamstown 4.3.27
  3. No good. They only do Casey home games this year. Willy leads 27 - 9.
  4. Jack Fitzpatrick snaps Casey's first goal.
  5. Willy using the ball better and have opened up a handy lead with the first three goals.
  6. First goal to Willy against the run of play.
  7. I can see LJ and Jake Spencer warming up but there will be no Danny Hughes. This is how the teams will line up today: WILLIAMSTOWN Backs Lockwood Faulks Grossma Half backs Callan Everitt Addison Centreline Davies Brent Johnson Ward Half forwards Rose Jones Ward Forwards Hooper Little Panos Followers Roughead Reid German Interchange Boumann Casley* Daniels Jolley Tiller CASEY SCORPIONS Backs Stockdale Panozza Cheney Half backs Taylor Mohr Strauss Centreline Wall Bell Chivers Half forwards Maric Purdy Bennell Forwards Johnson Jurrah Wonaeamirri Followers Spencer MacReadie Nicholls Interchange Creed M Dowse * Fieldsend Fitzpatrick McGough * 23rd player

  9. One interesting aspect of team selection is the fact that because MFC Seniors are not playing this weekend, the club would normally have been required to apply to the AFL for permission for any player who played AFL on Monday to play with Casey this weekend. Given the fact that there was a 5 day break, no Queen’s Birthday player was considered for selection but Jamie Bennell (MFC’s emergency) did not play and therefore he gets a run with Casey this weekend.
  10. Healey injured his hamstring two weeks ago.
  11. Casey 1's (and 2's) have a bye next week.
  12. Now, we're not getting ahead of ourselves as we have just passed the half way mark of the season but a few people have been asking me about the eligibility of Melbourne Football Club players for finals. An MFC player must have played 7 with Casey and no more than 12 AFL games. The 12/10 rule also applies in finals where the maximum MFC players to be picked is 12. I'll endeavour to update this in future so that eligible players will be known as they definitely become eligible.

  14. Juice was injured early in last week's game. Stef Martin was also out this week along with Rhys Healey who was injured playing in the reserves last week. By the way, with Williamstown's defeat today against North Ballarat, Casey is now on top of the ladder and plays Willi next week at Point Gellibrand. The game will be Casey's first televised game of the season despite it occupying one of the top spots throughout the first half of the season.

  16. Goal to Nicholls - 19 point lead.
  17. First goal of the final term to Smith of Casey. The Scorps look in control.
  18. Three Quarter Time Casey 9.7.61 Sandringham 8.3.51 Similar term to the last with goals to Creed (2) and Fieldsend (who had a great quarter) before Sandringham came back late to narrow the margin to 10 points.
  19. Half Time Casey Scorpions 6.7.43 Sandringham 6.1.37 Casey started strongly with two goals to Joel Macdonald and another to Macreadie but Sandy struck back with two goals. It's a scrappy affair! Rumour that Colin Sylvia will miss on Monday (got that from a bloke in the canteen).
  20. No. In fact, Paul Johnson is the only selected MFC interchange player in the game so it's possible that at least one of the players selected for the Demons will miss and another will be an emergency. Quarter Time: Casey 3.3.21 trail Sandy 4.0.24 Goals: Maric Nicholls Smith
  21. A goal to Addam Maric who has been very busy after Sandringham scored the first two goals. The visitors have the advantage of the breeze. The ground is very heavy but it looks like the rain is going to hold off. Casey Scorpions 1.2.8 Sandy 2.0.12
  22. The Seniors game has just started with first blood to Sandringham - goal. Casey Scorpions Reserves lost by 20 games in a very ordinary game under difficult conditions on a heavy ground. 23. Conditions today were appalling but Lynden Dunn with eight goals was sensational. Didn't miss and was solid throughout. Box Hill goaled on the siren to get within 14 points but it was the wettest I've ever seen at Casey. Had to make a quick getaway because the car park was getting inundated and the iPhone battery was threatening to erupt like an Iceland volcano if I would have kept it open. 24. Dunn gets his seventh. Nineteen points the margin at 20 minutes.
