Tomorrow's game clashes with the Melbourne v Sydney games at the MCG. Casey Radio 3SER is actually an FM station but it only covers Casey home games and is not broadcasting tomorrow. On the other hand, if you want to listen in, the game is being broadcast on line. You might try the link below (I think it's only used for sports events but have no idea as to it's reliability:- http://bpmmedia.gohosting.com.au/bpmmedia

Intersting that the team differs from the one on the VFL site. I will update accordingly.

Luke is doing well. He's a monster kick and moves well. Definitely a player of the future! Not good on stats but hopefully, we'll be able to get them for you during the week.

Scores level after 23 minutes after a Miller goal.
-
Wona gets Casey's first goal for the half after 12 minutes 46-63.
-
Playing on the half forward flank pushing into the midfield. He's probably Casey's best player in the first half. Port Melbourne is by far the better team and the 3 goal lead doesn't do it justice.

Quarter Time Casey Scorpions 2.2.14 Port Melbourne 2.3.15 Take no notice of the scoreboard. Port outclassed Casey which was kicking with he aid of a 4 goal wind. Goals Maric Tapscott
-
Some ominous signs early as Casey, kicking with the wind, struggled and conceded the first two goals before Maric goaled. Tapscott has just kicked one but Port, teaming much better, still leads by 2 points late in the quarter.

On another thread dreamin' man from WA states that Kyle Cheney made the trip over to the West so (with due deference to the poster above) he's an obvious scratching from the Casey team today

We're down to 10 AFL listed players in the Casey team this week - 9 once you allow for one player, probably Matthew Warnock going across as an emergency. It's customary for at least one other player to drop out so it could be down to eight. VFL State representative Michael Stockdale is also out with a knee injury and may be out for the remainder of the season. If so, he will be sorely missed. As I said above, it's a danger game with the result possibly deciding the outcome of the top four and Casey has yet to beat Port Melbourne at Casey Fields.

▶ Danger game for the Scorps against Port as they will be nowhere near full strength and are almost certain to be playing anywhere but at Casey Fields given that the heavens opened up again in Cranny today. Port is a stand alone team which means that Casey could only play 12 AFL listed players against the Borough but given Melbourne's long injury list and the need to take one emergency to Perth, they'll be lucky to field 10 Demons. Some strong bodies will be needed in this game to match Port's strengths. Stay tuned - venue and teams should be available tomorrow. Edit: According to the Casey Scorpions Twitter: "Scorp's v's Port Melbourne Saturday 17th July 2.00pm @ Casey Fields. Reserves at 11.00am" I guess that means the game will be at Casey Fields after all.

Luke Tapscott was serviceable without being outstanding. He has good skills and is hard at it. He played forward with some time on the ball and he looks a good draft pick! I hope to add my reflections on all of the players but am waiting on the match stats.

Game's over and Casey hold on to win against a determined opposition. The Scorpions won the game in the first quarter when they scored seven of their nine goals for the day. Both clubs fielded young teams with Casey playing quite a few first gamers but even with a smaller complement of MFC listed players (Maric was emergency at the MCG and Miller was out with a back injury) Casey should have done better and coach Brad Gotch would not have been pleased. Rohan Bail was excellent for the second week in a row and could be close to a recall for the Demons for next week's game against the Dockers at Subiaco.
