2019 Player Reviews: #12 Toby Bedford
Not good enough at this stage. Doesn't get involved in the game enough where he can have an impact. Low possession count and doesn't have that x factor. Early days yet but signs are not good.

Are we done now?
Richmond are giving away Dan Butler for a late pick. Carton & Saints in the running. Carlton have now pulled out because of the Papley trade. With Garlett delisted why not go for Butler until we have other small forward options available.

Tim Smith v Cam Pedersen
Pedo is playing for Phillip Island (Bulldogs) next year. I will definitely be following his progress as I live close to the footy ground. His family has moved there and Pedo and his wife are hopeful of securing teaching positions on the Island. One of my favourite demons.

As you can have 3 Cat B rookies you would think the club would take a chance on this kid unless they think he will not make it, or have someone else in mind.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
Caleb Daniel was the kid that dominated the last two games SA played in recent Championships. Although only small he was impossible to tackle and his skills both hand and feet were excellent. At Roosy's pie night I spoke about Wright, Petracca, Brayshaw etc to Paul during the QA session. I finished my question by talking about this kid.Caleb Daniel I'm sure that he had never heard of him and when I said that he was only 168cm he laughed. Do you mean 186cm. No Paul 168. Laughter....laughter. I said that this kid dominated and would be a fan favourite Laughter....laughter. He obviously thought he was too small but my God no other kid took my notice as much as this player. Matt Campbell and Liam Pickering who were commentating were rapt in him. He has firmed in some of the phantom drafts but could slide to a late pick because of this height. I would love this kid at MFC.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
I agree that you need a mix and as MFC supporters we would love to draft Stretch. However we should not let sentiment get in the way. After watching Stretch in the Champs this write-up from a contributor to 'Bound For Glory' sums up Stretch pretty well. If we have Toumpas do we really need Stretch. I liked Caled Daniel or SA Captain Jake Johansen much better. 41. Melbourne – Billy Stretch (Glenelg) Height: 182 cm Weight: 71 kg Player Comparison: Xavier Ellis Stretch has copped a lot of attention this year and has found a lot of criticism coming his way which has been very harsh on a kid who has some great assets. He is a skinny kid who floats across half forward or on the wing and loves to get the ball in his hands and run. His kicking lacks polish but is not as bad as has been reported early in the Champs. He is a good linkman across the forward half, but I don’t see him as a real game changer. Stretch isn’t likely to be in and under, winning his own ball but he knows his limitations and positions himself in spots where he can be dangerous and help his side. He often sits 30 metres away from the play, sweeping up loose kicks and pumping it back into dangerous spots. His exposure to senior football at Glenelg can only help him. Demons fans have put a lot of pressure on Stretch to be a great player, and wanted to get a steal through the father-son system but Stretch is just a good solid second round prospect with one or two attributes that make him a good player – his speed and decision making, but not a whole lot else.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
Adam Simpson was interviewed on radio yesterday. His main point was getting bigger and stronger midfielders. The inference was that players like Gaff would not be part of their best midfield in the future. This made me think that a player like Stretch may not be the type of player teams are looking for. Taller, stronger, faster with elite endurance are what clubs will be looking for come draft day.

Jimmy Toumpas
It doesn't matter who the coach is. The recruitment decisions and the lack of development is killing this club.

The boxing trainer is Ray Giles. He also helped Tom Rockliff. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/afl/afl-news/no-rest-for-rockliff-as-he-grabs-his-chance-at-the-lions-20100612-y4pv.html

Josh Caddy
What's all the love for Caddy. He has done nothing to date to suggest a high draft pick should be used on him. There are some great kids in this draft I would much prefer such as kennedy or Garlett for pace or O'Rourke, Wines, Stringer and .at least 10 others before Caddy. Love is so blind. Wake up.

Pick 13 is over the odds considering Mitch Clark was pick 12. Caddy has shown very little at GC. Let him go elsewhere We need players that are quick and can impact games. Kennedy or Garlett would be better for us..

Josh Caddy
I'd much rather Kennedy or Garlett.Caddy hasn't shown that X-factor that these kids seem to have. We've all had a good look at Caddy and he hasn't impacted games as you would expect. He is nowhere near the class of Harley Bennell. These other kids have a bit of Bennell in them. Don't do it MFC. Clark was pick 12, Caddy is overrated and should not command a high draft pick.
