  1. What about having a number of players start on the flank(s) and converge towards the centre when the full back indicates he is going to kick it up the middle in an atempt to create an outnumber in the centre? (I wouldn't put me in change of strategy)
  2. I've must have missed something. Could someone tell me why milk is worse than gastroade? Just because it is more visible?
  3. Looks sus to me. Especially since there is no evidence so far that anyone is actually videoing the match.
  4. Kayo seems to be doing 3 other games. I stumbled across this - no idea how kosher it is or where they'd be getting the feed from? https://www.facebook.com/101463378730693/posts/-casey-vs-geelong-cats-2-livestream-live-casey-vs-geelong-cats-2-vfllivestream-h/111664947710536/
  5. I watched both those VFL matches where he kicked the 14 goals. But who was his direct and indirect opponents in those matches? Were they AFL listed? Were they any good? Casey won by large amounts; was that because the opponents were so bad, or was it due to Weed kicking loads of goals? These are all genuine questions, not rhetorical. I'm not anti-Weed in any way but I wonder whether we have a reliable guide to how in-form he is. Other than the club being prepared to pick hims this week - which perhaps answers my questions. Though maybe there is also a keep Weed happy element in the decision.
  6. I feel I am in the minority in not applauding this change. With the VFL scheduling being all over the place with respect to the afl's, it just places more difficulties in the way making of selection decisions.
  7. In addition, when the greasy player is tackled the tackler ends up with slippery hands impeding his subsequent ball handling ability. Oil should be banned both because of this and because it causes unintentional head high contact.
  8. If you hit it wth your fist I don't think it matters if it looks like a flick pass, it is not. However the appearance will increase the chance of it being mistakenly called a throw. But as for where the momentum comes from, you are right. These days most of it comes from the hand/arm holding the ball, not from the punch even when it isn't overhead. I think this creates a more free flowing game and that's why it isn't cracked down upon. As long as we don't end up with one handed throws (a la gridiron).
  9. The umps have gone crazy about that. What totally mystifies me, is what is the actual definition of the line that they have moved off. There seems to be no consistency (did I just say that about umpiring?). Can anyone state how the rules define what the line is? Is it a line between the mark and the centre of the team's goals, even if you are kicking deep in defense? Seems not. To compound this with the new 'stand' rule, players rarely stand on the actual mark, so no one really knows where it really is. I'm amused that before this new rule, players would stand on the mark and then shuffle sideways to cut off the corridor. Now they just go there immediately and the umpire calls 'stand'.
  10. wouldn't they get more vision than the humble viewer gets? (Not that that still would be as good as being there.)
  11. Thanks. Yes he certainly tripped him, but since when do you get fined for an accidental trip like that? If you do an intentional trip then you should be rubbed out, not just fined.
  12. After all this discussion about Fritsch, I've now looked for why Brayshaw was got for a trip. Just watched the whole match and I couldn't see where it happened. Can someone please point out when it happened.
  13. Ordered. Hope it won't be too depressing.
  14. I don't doubt that some supporters of all clubs will whinge unreasonably at times, but to me it is as clear as day that the dollar driven AFL plays favourites where they think it is good business to do so.
  15. I too doubt anyone has it in for us, but it may feel that way when others get favourite treatment. Result is not dissimilar.
  16. Something went wrong in the saw the lady in half trick?
  17. You can clear cookies on a specific domain. I use the add-on "forget me not" as a quick way to do so. (Ingognito windows don't always work - though seems it does on the Age - I'm not a big reader.)
  18. clear your cookies etc if you are on a laptop
  19. They might have personalized inserts which may obviate the need for special boots. Had some myself years ago for planar faciitis.
  20. What's the evidence that a personalized pair of boots solves the problem he has? (Not saying it's not true, just interested.)
  21. I wonder how much Tomlinson's injury had on the mental state of the rest of the team. Would be pretty depressing all round. Of course nothing compared to himself.
  22. Perhaps an alternative way to understand is to think of an extreme case. What would happen to our percentage if the score today was a ridiculous 5001 points to 5000, a score totally dominating all the points scored for and against earlier in the year? Then your percentage is (5001+a relatively tiny bit) divided by (5000+ another tiny bit) which is close to 5001/5000 =near as dammit to 1. And so your percentage heads towards 100% no matter where it started. So your percentage can go down even if you win - unless you win by enough. And similarly if you have a bad percentage and lose in a very high scoring match, it is possible your percentage can rise despite the loss.
  23. Search for vfl. It isn’t a freebie because they have 3 other matches this week.
  24. Well I've tried calling the Spanish flu the American flu but no one listens. As you probably know that is where it likely originated but was hushed up by the allies and German governments for wartime public morale . Spain made the mistake of being neutral and not hiding it.
  25. Pretty good telecast. Thanks Richmond. But what’s with the big red button at the top of the screen? Thankfully it seems to have now gone.
