I'm sick of the club and supporters playing the victim card. We were in a PF 12 months ago. We are screwing ourselves, not the AFL. Chances are (going on previous draft history) the best kid in the draft won't come from the top 2 picks, thus we have a chance of drafting him with the #3 pick (not that i think we will have much luck there either - but you never know). With so many places to fix on our list, the difference between pick 2 & 3 will be negligible if our aim is to improve our team as a whole.

It is what it is, if it helps them then fair enough, if not then we can attempt to trade for Rowell or Anderson in 2 years time. Have a shot at Ben King, if that doesn't come off i'd try and bring in a Young/Ash along with Langdon, Tomlinson and possibly Elliott. Unless the deal is too good to refuse, i wouldn't 'split' the pick. What upsets me the most is that we are in the position of being affected by not getting the #2 draft pick in the first place (we shouldn't be anywhere near the bottom of the ladder, and yet we are).

I think the title of the position is superfluous. Just another to provide an opinion i guess, almost like a step above senior assistant. it will be a useless position for us if Goody doesn't relent his stubbornness and start listening to other people's opinions.

Geez the filth have been kissed on the Basil this finals series. Fell into 4th when WCE had a mare against the Hawks, then play Geelong on their home deck, next face a well under strength GWS and finally get a huge leg up with the Giants best defender & leader going down early. It seems that our boys for a number of years have been satisfied that putting in one decent season is good enough.

I cannot see the downside in signing him up (aside from the list space if he fails). Will cost nothing as he's a DFA and he would be on a very low salary. Not much risk, for albeit slim chance of good reward. Never going to win if you don't enter the race MFC.
