  2. Colm, Josh Weddle is the best lockdown defender in the draft. He can play on talls and smalls and is 192cm. He's not your precision ball user off halfback or anything but I have him easily in my top 10 players in the draft. His ability to play tall or small will be so valuable and offer so much flexibility for AFL backlines if he plays to my projection. The one issue with him is that his form in some of the National Championships (one of his games up there with the best defensive games I've seen) has been a lot better than his NAB form. But his team-play, one percenters, blocking et cetera is elite. If I was to comparison him it would be a cross of James Frawley and Dale Morris. Regarding the talls, South Australia was to be the source of the better ones, but they've fallen away a bit. Harry Lemmey was highly touted going into the season as a Peter Wright type but is now playing his SA under 18 footy as a 200cm centre half back. Tom Scully, also 200cm, has been a dominant goalkicker at the lowly SANFL under 18 level but is lightly-framed. Interesting player because his contest stuff needs a lot of work but he's good around goals at ground level for a big guy. Isaac Keeler is another 200cm South Australian. Indigenous, with some X-factor and exciting ball-handling at times and has bulked up a fair bit through the season. He's playing more and more ruck all the time and is the closest thing to Luke Jackson in the draft, but very raw and not as athletic. Phoenix Foster has probably had the best championships of the Croweater talls, but is more of an undersized ruck than a forward. They could all be around the 30 mark or lower, though with the scarcity of talls, some clubs may take a chance earlier on a Keeler or Scully, gambling on the upside and giving them some time. Hard to know what to make of Lemmey, he was touted as a possible number one pick going into the season. I hadn't seen much of him before but Max Gruzewski looked very good in the recent Chargers v Dragons (basically the highest calibre under 18 match in the country). He was more known as a defender going into the game but they swung him forward. He is balanced and has a touch of class, but might be more of a third-tall type at 192cm. He could got top 15 on that effort though.
  3. If anyone interested have four tickets available for less than face value together in M56 halfway back - row MM.
  4. If anyone is wanting better tickets or group of tickets, two of my family members miscommunicated and bought 6xtickets in twice when we only need six. So six available in bottom level olympic stand forward pocket. DM if interested, selling for face value of tickets, not scalping or anything like that.
  5. https://www.afl.com.au/ondemand/highlights/754216/2022-nab-league-boys?episode=2#round-16 havent had time to fully breakdown his best moments, but there's a nice bit of play from Kynan (number 44, dont trust any report suggesting he is wearing #59) which shows what he's about at the 15:30 mark of the vid and a bit of a rap from Kevin Sheahan as well after it. This match had a huge volume of draft prospects and in that piece of play, Brown plays a nice one-two with certain draftee Josh Weddle, who had got the ball from Collingwood NGA rookie certainty Yuyu Ashwin. Brown finds another probable draftee Max Gruzewski with a nice pass. You can probably see a bit of the Ed Langdon and his dad comparisoning. There is a site called Cluch which is free to subscribe too which has uploaded the under 17 futures match as well for anyone interested in watching more of him in his 30 possession game.
  6. Jack, Kynan had a very rough first half with his ball use, particularly when on the end of some of Metro's offensive movement, burning four of five attacking forays with sloppy and or turnover entries, his in close work was uncharacteristically shaky as well. I think he probably would have been at about 20-25% disposal efficiency first half. Second half he was a lot more efficient and he was more involved as a handballing linkman/feeder which plays more to his strengths. He works his socks off, runs good patterns and knows how to find the footy, his issue like dad will be his ball use. The first half was the worst I've seen it. To play in the starting midfield for this team was a big tick for him, but his disposal first half probably made it a neutral outing for him in turns of his draft status. The more I'm watching him, I think clubs will see him as an Ed Langdon type and as I've suggested previously, a more offensively minded version of dad.

  11. Wildly incorrect. Bedford and Chandler missing due to Covid. Moniz-Wakefield out with a groin injury.
  12. You make a reasonable assumption in theory, but it's of course a little more nuanced than that. Firstly, Brown is a January birthday so he will be one of the oldest players in his draft pool next year. That means 'in theory' he is better able to cope with the demands of NAB football this year and also 'in theory' that he is less likely to have physical development improvement year to year. It also 'in theory' means there a lot of players who with the more likelihood of added development (experience, growth et centera) could catapult over him. There are players drafted every year who club's over-rate or draft higher because they are born later and have that theoretical more improvement. I don't think the above is true of Kynan, because is small and seems like he will grow a bit more and has some upsize, but it is relevant as a response to your question. The problem for Brown's draft standing is he is small, not an elite kick and likely to project to play at AFL level, some of the least difficult roles to fill (wing/flanker type) These are the things that hurt the loftiness of his likely draft position. He's a good little player, but there a likely to be quite a few of them available. At this stage I can think of 20 players who have showed more promise or who I think AFL clubs would likely covet more and I'm confident would be ranked ahead of him at this stage. That takes into account no WA players and none of the players tied to interstate academies. There will be a lot of players come from the clouds next year too. It's possible there were five players playing in the Jets v Oakleigh game that will be drafted ahead of him next year. It's not likely but it is possible. Its also possible he could put on 5kg, grow an inch or two, and average 35 per game and be seen as a poor man's Sam Walsh and go top 20. I just don't see, at the moment, many clubs desperate to use an early pick on an undersized wingman, without elite footskills.
  13. Here is the match, Layzie. Kynan is wearing number 44. https://www.afl.com.au/ondemand/highlights/754216/2022-nab-league-boys?episode=1#round-15 Other players of note are: Chargers - 13 Nathan Philactides - Vic Metro bottom ager like Kynan rebounding defender/wingman 41 Doug Kerr - 15 year old defender, impressive! 34 Tom Gross - another highly rated 15 year old, midfield/half forward Western Jets 53 Logan Morris - Bottom Ager like Kynan Key Forward who I think will be first rounder next year. 41 Jake Smith - bottom age midfielder.
  14. Fairly certain the guy that wrote that wasn't at nor watched the game in some other form.
  15. He's a left footer, played mostly in the guts and a bit on the wing on the weekend for the Chargers. Their team had a number of high profile players missing and they gave games to some of their under 16 players, including defender Doug Kerr who was probably their best player and is an extremely exciting prospect for the 2024 draft. Kynan is only small like his dad, but links play up well and is a good and simple decision maker with clean enough hands. His best attribute is probably his speed, when he gets ball in hand he has a good burst of acceleration that can put two or three yards on an opponent from nowhere. The knock is probably going to be on his kicking, it's not awful but its not damaging. All in all probably a similar player to his dad but probably with more of an attacking bent - a small, quick, hardworking goer. I'd be surprised if he's a high draft pick next year that has us being seen to be exploiting the draft system, but wouldn't be surprised if he was in Vic Metro's squad next year and then was on our list in some way, shape or form come year's end.

  17. Debateable. Davies-Uniacke seems to have emerged. Horne-Francis is the elephant in the room. The one other factor which i cant get a read on is they are thought to rate Charlie Comben highly and Edwards was highly touted draft pick, both are 200cm. They might feel comfortable with those two. Either way, it will be difficult for a lot of clubs to overlook Cadman
  18. Very easily could end up right up there as well. I'm pretty confident the top 8 2023ers listed will be high draft picks, Delean could easily be in that next batch. WA have quite a few smaller types probably deserve to be listed there too.
  19. I certainly wouldn't consider it gospel. I just think it will be very difficult for North to overlook a good key forward with sound fundamentals after spending so much draft capital on stoppage midfielders in recent drafts. Alastair Clarkson is a $1.30 favourite to be North's coach and the first draft he was at Hawthorn, the Hawks drafted Buddy and Roughead. Some of the same list build fundamentals could see them look to establish Larkey/Cadman as the key forward spine for the Clarkson reign. Positional scarcity is relevant as well, as is the fact you bed down a key forward combo you don't have to speculate with picks in subsequent drafts. Cadman is reasonably bombproof.
  20. No and I forgot about some other players like Patrick Hughes be well ahead of him as well at this stage IMHO

  22. I have him going pick 6 In my current mock Pennant.
  23. Long-time Melbourne fans will see a striking resemblance to Warren Dean in the way he moves and looks but he's obviously more of an around the ground player, more nimble than Warren and he can't kick it 80 metres. But he's a shorter dead ringer. I think he will probably play a lot forward for Country if he plays. In his Power games he plays a lot deep forward. He's good on the lead, he can outwrestle the mid-sized defenders and he' s a good worker when he goes inside midfield, he's physical, he can run and carry and he's got some tricky footwork at times to get out of trouble. The area of his game that warrants improvement or more consistency is ball use by foot. It's not horrible but it's not elite. I think clubs will like him as a guy that can play anywhere from midfield/wing/half-forward/deep forward. Stylistic, the comp is a less-talented more blue collar Colin Sylvia. His stats in the Northern Knights game need to be taken in context. It's one of - if not - the best NAB team playing one of the worst. The Knights best players are bottom agers, one Caddy, their most highly-touted player is a key forward prospect so out of the game. The other two Alex D'arro (an extremely light outside wing/half back distributor) and Will Green (16yo ruck) are talented but overwhelmed. The Power have their own equivalent of bottom agers, plus a handful of draft prospects for this year including Humphrey. For what it's worth I think Konstanty is their best AFL prospect. He's a classy player but a touch small and I like the way Cooper Vickery goes about his work as a Trent Rivers type third or fourth tallest back. I'd be surprised if he isn't drafted or rookied and he doesn't get mentioned a lot. The star of the day was Zane Duursma though. On his game on the weekend, even taking into the account the opposition, he has thrust his name into very high draft pick calculation next year. A very, very good player.
