If the rivers trade doesn't eventuate I assume we won't get any compensation as the moloney OUT cancels out the byrnes IN?
I mean, that is the AFL doesn't consider that moloney is worth anything more than byrnes....
Moloney has played a lot more games in the last two years and won a b & f but maybe that isn't such a big factor.

Good luck beamer! You can now wear v neck tshirts all year round in brissies weather...
-
Now that Wellingham has gone to perth there's the all-exciting spot as Buddy's housemate up for grabs....
-
Bate and Petterd are absolute certainties to be delisted if we don't miraculously extract a trade for them...
Anyone know if Barty has had any luck with his knee recovery?

He needs an s in his surname

Who's our competition anyway?
Eagles for Wellingham and Bulldogs for Dawes??

Trade week goes for 3 weeks so I am still betting that the busiest week will be the last.
But yes, Monday morning will be record breaking for Demonland...
I hope the demonland server is prepared for all the traffic if we have to take viney at pick 3.... it'll prob go into meltdown!

The rich get richer.
That's right. Hawks also signed up a new irish guy as an international rookie. Surely the richer clubs will eek out more of an advantage with better and more coaches, more international rookies, better and more recruiters... arrgh...

I'd want to know why he only played 3 games in 2011 and 1 game in 2012??
(and it can;t be his broken leg as that was back in r13 2009 according to wiki)

If you divide the 1 million by the 44 players on the list it's not that much extra for each player though - comes out to $23,000 each which would be the difference in housing, food, travel etc costs..
Mind you, once you start allowing for those living in sydney but not factoring in perth, adelaide and melbourne it becomes hypocritical....
Maybe those that need to live in port need to get an extra allowance too

And just out of curiosity, being a dual premiership player means he missed out on one. Was he injured or just unable to get into a very good side?
Pretty sure he was an emergency for last years grand final. So not able to get into the side as new players like Christensen took his spot.

Might be a while, to lazy to look it up as i am out and about. It was along those lines
i googled it for you dude....
In 2009 "Collingwood had hoped to secure pick No.25 by trading Sharrod Wellingham to North Melbourne, along with pick No.30. They then planned to pass on pick No.25 for Ball."

Byrnes manager all but confirmed him coming to us..
'I think he'll find a home there' he said, tacked onto the end of an article that i cant find atm.
It's at the end of this afl.com article http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=148953

They'd both be mid first round compensation picks, not sure how you're arriving at St Kilda getting theirs first.
so its not based on the departing player's club ladder position?
-
Richmond have just announced that they have offered him, obviously theyre in the box seat, but he hasnt signed yet.
yep, richmond off to a good start with free agency...

The credibility of the hun grows and grows.....
"Byrnes told AFL.com.au he was caught off guard by speculation he could join the Demons next season.
"I only read about that this morning myself," Byrnes said.
"I saw the Dees looking for a Cat, that was the headline, and I was interested to see who it was."

Lucas Cook has been named in the ruck for Casey this week in a very much weakened side. Just the 6 Demons named.
So what miracles does Cook have to perform to turn his career around in one of VFL's greatest ever performance?
74 hitouts?
11 goals?
-
Luke Williams - the guy that ended his career on '05?
yep, mighty luke williams, 51 spectacular games and 10 fabulous goals.
If you play for the dees you probably don't want to see the wiki entry say "He spent most of his career with Melbourne playing in the Demons' reserve side, the Sandringham Zebras, in the Victorian Football League."

Am I the only one who feels a sense of relief along with the disappointment?

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!
This all started with a broken wrist. If he hadn't broken his wrist he wouldn't have had the time off to be in alice springs and he wouldn't have been caught up in the situation. plus he probably would have played more than a game for us this season.
urgh
FAREWELL BRENT MOLONEY
