FACT: spotted getting tour of AAMI park with the 2 jacks about half an hour ago.
Good spot Demon3. It's a shame you didn't spot Dangerfield, Toby Greene and Gary Ablett as well...

Mooney would be lucky if he could spell his own name let alone give "special comments" on any teams drafting strategy .
Yup the goons on afl trade radio aren't the greatest fans of the dees trade period!

The following link is a fascinating read on BF's North forum. Pedersen is certainly rated by nearly every supporter, but clearly has been out of favour and seemingly not well liked by the playing group and coaches. And there's no denying that his numbers stack up well in 2011. As a third banana behind Dawes and Clark, Pedersen would be a valuable player and a difficult match-up for the opposition. And Neeld seems keen to keep developing Howe's midfield ability.
I'm only 5 pages into the thread I'm about to post, but it certainly alleviates doubts about his playing ability. I've always liked what I've seen of Pedersen, but it's nice to get the view of the supporters in question.
Thanks Ben-Hur. Geez they really bag out his attitude on that forum, with comments like "My mail is that the old phrase "there's no I in Team" hasn't quite sunk in for Pedo". Well it might be all hearsay I guess.

Thanks TLE....a very 'diplomatic' response
Yep! Do you at least try and soften the blow with whiskey, mood lighting and maybe some background buddhist relaxation music?

I'm punishing myself by watching all the replays....
All 22 of them? That's, err, commitment!

Daniel Bradshaw!
"The notion that a player might be BETTER for having a knee reconstruction - Hird's assessment of Dempsey - was evident when Brisbane Lion forward Daniel Bradshaw returned from his knee reco in 2008; Bradshaw had his career year, booting 75 goals to finish third in the Coleman Medal."

Ok, I would like the club to have a chat to Andersen about this - if Knights is worth nothing, then so is Byrnes. Which means that surely Moloney should get us a third rounder on his own.
You've nailed it on the head there!

The last 10 years of 20th draft picks
2002 will minson
2003 Sam butler
2004 dean polo
2005 Paul bower
2006 Tom hislop
2007 Tony notte
2008 Tom swift
2009 Nathan fyfe
2010 jaydon pitt
2011 haydon crozier
Except for fyfe Dawes has the other 9 players easily covered.
Great pickup for Melbourne.
Someone just rang up afl trade radio and read that arguement out to wallace who had said we'd paid overs for dawes.. (maybe the caller was a demonland member?!)
totally rolled wallace, he ummed and ahhed and then said fair point. said picks 21 and 22 out of those drafts might be better than dawes though.

Do we still need Pedersen if Martin stays?
-
Most exciting trade period for the dees since... 2001 when we got bizzell and vardy!
-
What happens in a few years time when these guys recruited on war-chest big coin want their contracts renewed?
Well obviously they'll stay for less coin to play with a flag favourite!

So does this trade show that its more likely that Rivers will leave now?
-
Hmmm... It would be exciting to see the dees run out in round 1 with about half a dozen ex players from other clubs.. but then i think the novelty would wear off pretty quickly!
Pass from me.

And on a side note. Will be interesting to see 5 years down the track how he compares against the likes of Sam Day, Tom Lynch, Aaron Black and John Butcher.
BUMP!
Don't think we need to wait 5 years.
This thread does make for slightly depressing reading. Couple of interesting articles published at the time though

Beamer is on trade radio right now if anyone wants to listen.... http://www.afl.com.au/portals/0/2010/offseason/trw/twr2012.html

Why is so much on this thread not on topic? It reads like bizarre stream of consciousness from One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. Makes keeping up with real movement tricky.
(Vent over)
Because threads on internet forums never stay on topic... You're lucky no-one has started talking about Justin Bieber or Hitler...

Been part of numerous AFL pre-seasons will have the hunger to perform to get games at the AFL level.
Couldn't you say the same thing about Bate, Petterd and Bennell?

One line update in this article on Rivers:
"Melbourne midfielder Jordan Gysberts is understood to no longer be in the Cats' sights, while they may also struggle to accommodate his teammate Jared Rivers due to list management pressures."
Jared might have to take a paycut if he wants to play for them!

I'm surprised you didn't use a cartoon pic of gumby!

Should have been doing this training two years ago.
Exactly what I thought! Why does he decide to put on the 3kgs now, couldn't he find the dumbells and protein powder before....

“It’s safe to say he’s not going to be at Melbourne next year. The signs aren’t good that good that they want to keep him,” Cook’s manager Marty Pask told SuperFooty.
His manager doesn't sound very hopeful!
-
What's going on with that forward who plays for the lions and that wants to come home to Victoria. I cant remember his name.
Pat Karnezis... I think the lions said the other day that 'he was a required player'....
-
Manager said he has coaching aspirations. Time will tell on that.
yeah.... herald-sun supercoach

I think they'll get a big fine but I doubt they'll lose draft picks...
