  1. I have to laugh at the media frenzy surrounding Carlton and their apparent "Tanking" I am pretty sure the reason Riley isn't getting questioned is because the media can actually see how [censored] we are!!! Barracking for Melbourne has never (in my life) been so embarrassing! Juice is going to be a great FF at least! But unless we get some midfielders who can deliver to him, then he will want to be traded in a few years! Just a question..... How many times does Brad Green kick around his body without looking?!!!??
  2. Final Score Sydney 19. 10. 124 Melb 13. 10. 88 Best Melb Jones, JMac, Bell, White, Bate and Pickett Goals Melb Bate, Pickett 3 Newton 2 Godfrey, Green, Davey, Wheatley, Neitz 1 Summary Swans got off to a flyer, kicking 6 goals to 1 in the 1st Qtr Melbourne then scrapped for the rest of the match and with a strong effort from Jones and JMac in the midfield keep the Dees in it.... Jeff White dominated Jolly all day, but the Swans midfield were reading him well enough to win the clearances.... Matthew Bate lead strongly up the ground all day and showed Brad Miller what a CHF should do, kicking 3 goals Byron Pickett, playing his 200th, gave glimpses of his glory days with 24 touches, 12 tackles and 3 classy goals in a strong performance.... He layed a crunching tackle on Adam Schneider in the 3rd Qtr which left the Swan with 4 broken ribs....
  3. Sheedy or Connolly ....... Oooops! Sheedy or McKenna! :D
  4. Amazes me that Bizzell gets named in a forward pocket for Sandy?!?!?! And if they are seriously gonna play TJ at Sandy then our medical staff have bigger mental issues than I first thought! Leave the bloke on the sidelines until he is 100% ripping apart the training track! If they are gonna use him as trade bait then they need him at full fitness!
  5. "Project Player" The two words that strike fear into any Dees supporter!!
  6. I am pretty sure they will have a chat with him.... The bloke has potential to be a good coach one day, but I would assume they would be looking at him for an assistants role, rather than the head coaching position in 2008... Viney working under a bloke like Sheedy would be fantastic for his future coaching aspirations!
  7. For you to even suggest getting rid of Robbo makes me sick! The bloke bleeds Red 'n Blue and has been with us through thick and thin.... You say getting rid of TJ and Bruce would be stupid?!?!?! Getting rid of Robbo would be just as cruel as buying a kitten, nurturing it to a ripe old age with love and attention, then grabbing it and throwing it in the microwave!!! The thought makes me seriously ill..... The Robbo legend deserves to live on! Demon thru and thru....
  8. Well, to say I am excited at the prospect of the great man coaching us is the understatement of the year! I can't stop thinking about it!! I get the feeling that Sheeds is pretty bloody excited at the prospect of coaching one of the oldest clubs in the world! It will be our 150th next year and I reckon Sheeds will be gettin' a chubby just thinking about it! The man is as passionate as any man that has ever been involved in footy and he would take great pleasure and satisfaction in building the Red 'n Blue back to it's once powerful self.... If he could retire from coaching in 3-5 after winning the premiership at Melbourne then he would die a very happy man! The history and prestige that goes with our great club will be the driving force behind his want (and need) to succeed! Just thinking out loud
  9. I like it!! After listening to Sheedy's comments regarding passion, I am super stoked!! Sign here Mr. Sheedy ............... The bloke is [censored] funny and has a record that talks for itself..... The bloke could sell Ice to the Eskimos!!!! Out with The Rev..... In with The Kev.....
  10. Thanks for the update.... Don't understand why the hell they played Bruce last week?!?!?! Was clearly not fit and in my opinion should not play again this year! Sylvia should also be given the rest of the year on the sidelines in preperation for a huge pre-season!
  11. The more I think about..... The more I listen to opinions..... The more I think that Kevin Sheedy will coach us next year! It all seems to be falling into place.... If Sheedy coaches next year, it will be with the Red 'n Blue!
  12. Well, at least we are looking at the great man! They announced it on SEN that Sheedy is one of the 12.....yes 12.... on our short list
  13. Out for the game against the Swans and I don't think he will play his 50th until next season.... Rest him up and give him a solid pre-season....
  14. Agree totally with Petterd to get the 1st Yr award.... Most improved would have to be Jonesy, but would not surprise me if Bell gets it.... Roughie : PJ Best Clubman - Jonesy again! Would not surprise me if Jonesy cleans up at Awards night....
  15. Ummm..... Pretty sure we have established that already!?!?!?! Not coaching anywhere only refers to "Senior" position though.... Don't be surprised if he takes on an Asst. role at The Lions!!
  16. I am willing to put money on this theory of mine : Pickett will come out and have a good solid game against the Swans..... Will be in our best with 20-odd disposals and a few goals.... Will play the rest of the season and be in pretty good form (doing all the "Picketty" type things well) We will then offer him another contract and he will turn up out of shape to pre-season, put in a few hard yards to get down to playing weight by Rnd 2 and will be involved in an off-field incident by Rnd 8.... Retires after Rnd 10.... Money down the drain!!! What are the odds of him saying "Sorry"????
  17. 1. J Mac Has tried his guts out all year and has easily been the Heart and Soul of 2007 2. Jones Much admiration for this young blokes season.... Been in and under and the 2nd and 3rd efforts should not go un-noticed Raffle for the rest of the positions.... If Cameron Bruce wins it, then the system is so wrong it's not funny!
  18. He will stay with Channel 10 in 2008 and I am pretty damn sure he is saving his coaching debut for his beloved Lions in 2009 when Lethal decides to move on.... Would have chatted to his best mate Lethal, and they would have decided that now is not the right time to jump into a senior coaching position.... Unless of course he does leave Channel 10 and joins Matthews in an assistant role?!?!?! Would not surprise me in the slightest!!
  19. From what I've seen, I like the kid!!! Given a solid pre-season, the right coaching staff and some hard work, I reckon the boy will play every game next year and be a solid contributor in 85% of them!! One of the few who can hit a target whilst running and will become a nice utility player!
  20. Was contemplating putting $10 on the Dees until I remembered what I saw from the outer at AAMI Stadium on Sunday! Our side is an absolute rabble! Could not beat Doveton Under 18's let alone get close to the Swans! Utter embarrassment watching the great Red 'n Blue being worn without an ounce of pride! Prove me wrong boys and I will gratefully retract my harsh words!
  21. To be honest, I am a bit reluctant to get excited just yet! My whole life (as with most of you) I have been on the "excitement" roller coaster that is this wonderful footy club! I refuse to get excited about next year until we have been told who our coach is.... If it is Connolly then I will be so excited that I won't renew my membership and I will start going to A-League games! McKenna gets the gig and I will be once again buzzing with excitement..... Sheedy, Longmire, Ratten or Voss and I will be enjoying a few months of internal optimism as to what next year holds! But seriously, with our list, excitement will always give way to embarrassment! Make the right trades, de-list the right players, draft a young gun or 3 and we shall see what the future holds!
  22. This comment is so true!!! If Brock McLean was playing for Geelong at the moment he would be ripping it up! When a fresh donut is put in a container with old dog turds, he begins to transform and become like his peers..... [censored]!
  23. Games that are deliberately lost are sometimes called "thrown" games. When a team intentionally loses a game to obtain a perceived future competitive advantage rather than gamblers being involved, the team is often said to have tanked the game instead of having thrown it.
  24. Unless our future coach is Ernie Dingo then Byron is a Dead Man Drinking!!
  25. Trying to make sense of these selections is tough... Holland and Tredrea to match up in what will be a battle between two of the slowest movers in the game! Ferguson and Westhoff in what will be a battle of the boys who need to eat something! Jamar being played to maybe interest the Crows in making a bad trade?!!?!
