Been there, done that on this thread. I was blasted for raising it. See post # 149.

Rumour File
Speculation about it in the "Aaron vandenBerg set to meet the Swans thread" and mentioned on radio on Grand Final day as a player Melbourne would want as a trade if VDB left.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
What guarantee is there that if May stays until next year that he will be worth Band 1 compensation? He could lose form or get injured and he'll be a year older meaning a year less to offer other clubs. If the Suns are offered a top 10 pick in what is generally considered the best draft of the best decade against something that might happen in the future, they will look at it seriously.

If VDB goes to Sydney then Zac Jones ends up at Melbourne.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KADE KOLODJASHNIJ
There’s also a Kolodjashnij at Geelong. Which is the better player?

Draftees from outside the AFL system
Agreed - and much more than Carlton deserved given they deliberately bottomed out this year by the way they traded.

Farewell Dean Kent
I think his fall from grace is more of an attitude thing than his ability to play the game. He kicked 5 in the win against Brisbane in round 2.

Meanwhile . . . down at Glenferrie Road . . . .
I think whoever wrote that might be on to something. Their game style would probably work against most teams but not in the pressure cooker of the finals. When they were desperate to catch up they held onto the ball for too long and allowed our defence to set up and counter them. It reminded me of past days when Demon fans would complain that we had no Plan B.

Would we take $cully back?
The idea definitely has some merit. If I recall correctly, the Scully family home was in the Narre Warren area so he won’t have very far to go to play at Casey Fields.

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
No, not that bad. When the AFL planned the new franchises it expected that Gold Coast would find it easier to recruit and retain players than GWS. In the end, it overcompensated and gave the Giants too much in the way of concessions. IMO, the AFL has to do something when one of its clubs can finish top four and then use the bidding system to turn picks 2, 10, 37 and 39 into 2, 5, 14 and 20. It's scandalous!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CLAYTON OLIVER
I read somewhere that Simon Goodwin compared Christian Petracca's attitude to training with that of Ricciuto and since we can't have two of them, I'll go with the Oliver/Dangerfield comparison but without raising any expectations of course ?

Anyone for cricket?
They say if you bat first in India then you don't get beaten often and a score of 380 at lunch on the second day looks solid. But do we have the bowling attack to get them out twice?

The No T$ No B$ Thread
You object to WYL & WJ's "partisan political comments" but not Redleg's which started them in the first place. Well, that seems to be a political statement in itself to me. Back on topic, my favourite part of Truth was Heartbalm. If those situations weren't made up I'll bear my proverbial in Bourke Street or New Orleans.
