GAMEDAY - Round 10
So I have a kiddie matinee show thingo I have to attend, and if I get caught on the phone by Mrs Naked I’m dead meat. So I will be blind to probably the first half at least, unless I can a few dunny runs. Adelaide play a tough contested brand of ball. We have to serve it straight back. Max will dominate Jacobs, their midfield will ruck to him. Need to win the midfield, and shut down their HB run. And keep Eddie quiet. 1 goal per quarter better, plus a late surge sees us home by 35 points. I will watch the replay later.

Priority draft picks
Fair point, but I also think this is about some sort of appropriate justice - that is fairness in how the rules are applied. No one came out and wanted us to get anything after 186, we were just pilloried as a terrible club with lots of problems. Carlton lose by 109 to us, and all of a sudden everyone wants to give them a leg up. But I get it, they are the ‘mighty blues’. If it is not paper Visy bags, then it needs to be something else. They have recruited terribly, fed off the dregs of GWS (Grand Sale, Grand Sale!) and been shyte for ages. I would only be happier if the bombers had the length of suffering that these buggers have. Honestly, a few additional draft picks are probably not going to make a difference. I think they need to boot SIlvagni and change some of their admin. I think Bolton could be a good coach, and there is enough talent in just Cripps and the Curnow boys to build a team around. They just need to get their heads out of their arses. I think assistance is appropraite where necessary, but think they have the ability to carry a couple more seasons before they need to be rescued by the AFL. I would think Gold Coast needs a lot more than these buggers in terms of assistance right now.

Wallace Urges Adelaide to Target Lever
Plow is irrelevant what a toss bag of yesterday's jizz. Big deal that Lever changed clubs. Boo Hoo Adelaide. Not like every player on your list was born and bred there (Bryce Gibbs to name one...). Seriously, if they need to target Jake they will be looking the wrong way. The ball will be up the other end of the ground. Suck your own balls, plow.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
His dad is about 11 hundred feet tall and played at 120 kgs. Imagine that physical presence, either forward or in the middle? Sheesh! That is not Brendan Fevola 120 kgs (stuffing hamburgers into his cheeks like a starving Hamster in a nut factory), but athletic size and genuine build. Keen to see how he develops in our system

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
Elite sports people in tennis and basketball, including NBA. Many who move into business, admin and coaching. These networks can deliver incredible value, open doors, even deliver sponsorships etc. most football royalty has its boundaries around Melbourne. This one goes much bigger. It appears they are all Dees supporters, too!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - AUSTIN BRADTKE
So pleased we landed him! Absolute sporting royalty pedigree, and his fathers connections are worth a fortune to the club, too.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 10
Evidence for the prosecution: Adelaide had a really tough contested slog in the wet last week, as evidenced by the extraordinary number of contests. We had a bit of a waltz around a few witches hats. adelaide give it, but wilt when put under sustained pressure. they have some serious names out injured they are arrogant overconfident tossers their focus is on Lever. i think they will ruck to Max. Jacobs has already conceded. so, they are no pushovers, but we are at least one goal better per quarter. Dees by 24, with and upside blowout over 40 on the cards.

Changes vs Adelaide
Injury update said Weids did a calf at training. Will be out this week (more precautionary) and ready the week after. Interesting to see if he has to come back via Casey, or straight in

Changes vs Adelaide
I watched the Casey goals. It is difficult to draw any line through that as the footage looked like we were playing a team of non AFL standard. Pedo took some strong marks, but the pressure applied in those contests looked 2nd rate at best. i simply don’t know how to rate the performances. Maybe relative to each other? Maybe work rate and two way efforts?

Tom McDonald Contract Talks
We have him this year, so it gives us 12 months more weed development. i would imagine if it is back and forth then Tom is in the ballpark, and it may be loading, performance markers and pay, retrigger clauses that could be in play. otherwise, the ‘message’ and signalling may have been different.

Changes vs Adelaide
Spargo needs a rest?? Seemed to do OK on that chase-down and tackle that led to Clarrie's goal. The game was so far over most Carlton supporters were already home in their sisters. He didn't need to go that hard, but he did. If he needs to be managed from a load perspective, I will leave that to the performance gurus at the club. There is no visible evidence that he needs a 'rest' however. Lets see how everyone pulls up. No one knew Clarrie busted a finger, or that Weids had a tight calf. I love the fact that we have a deep roster, and there is pressure for spots. No reason to change from a performance perspective.

The build
I think the season begins now. We have used these ‘build’ games to position ourselves really well. A 109 point thrashing of any club is huge, but the second half looked like training drills. 3 games to the bye. 3-0 : the lid will be off 2-1 : finals bound in these scenarios, the build phase will have paid off any less than 2-1 and the wrist slashing can recommence in earnest...

FIXTURING, HOW UNFAIR
Its not designed to be fair. Until we prove beyond any doubt we deserve it, we will get the junk end of everything AFL. 3 flags should do it.
-
Lever Ready To Take on the Crows
I think he has been building sing R3 into something really important. He is taking great intercept marks, spoiling (except that one today) and brilliant vision and delivery. Very pleased we landed him, and he is worth the money. Bring on Adelaide, so he can tick off the first meeting with the old club thing.

Frankston v Casey Demons - Round 7
Awesome. More pressure to get into, and stay in the firsts. When we have strong competition on every line for spots, it is something I can’t say I’m used to. We have never had it so good.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 9
Bull is a great inclusion, as is Viney. who relieves Kreuzer (I’m not talking about Bolton, by hand, at half time)? If Max rests when zkreuzer does, Harmes could even ruck. Suspect T Mac might go through the middle. Can’t see the Carlton defense sticking with TMac and Hogan. Bull and Fritter add another level of challenge. And if Max goes forward, this will bust open. We just have to win the contests. Also, I can’t believe the bluebaggers supporters. They beat druggies and now they are up and about. One supporter couldn’t get his mates to go to a match- now has 6 seats for Sunday and about 10 idiots that want them. I dislike playing Carlton, and hope we smash them.
