great report thanks @ChaserJ impossible time of year for most to get there but glad that someone was able to do so -
a study based on membership details released to them by the clubs? yeah, i'd believe it filth supporters are EVERYWHERE like the vermin they are

you'd be wrong i posted earlier in this thread i'm fairly certain, but a 2015 sun study said these were our top 10 supporter suburbs: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/interactive-footy-fan-map-afl-clubs-membership-heartlands/news-story/4ceb4875ecacd1b3b04eade7b2dc620b Glen Iris Brighton Hawthorn Toorak Caulfield East Camberwell Richmond Malvern Kew Black Rock (list source via reddit cos the sun's map is borked) it may have shifted slightly since 2015, but as a stonnington resident, the whole of glen iris, malvern, toorak was decked out in dees colours in 2021 it was glorious

Dees Young Core Ranked 15th for 2024
whatwhat say what replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
you're severely underrating what van rooyen offers and overstating the value of others by comparison king brothers routinely under deliver as the #1 forward targets for their respective clubs, juh plays effectively as the 'third' tall and seems to be a bit of a specialist at docklands, thilthorpe and lord are hot and cold, while cadman probably shouldn't have played at all in 2023 i'd take jvr over all of those mentioned with exception of jye amiss and possibly logan mcdonald -

jvr's leap and ability to read the flight of the ball is a distinct advantage as a secondary ruck -
i believe they have? the sun, coming up 10 years ago, did this 'football heartland' thing: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/interactive-footy-fan-map-afl-clubs-membership-heartlands/news-story/4ceb4875ecacd1b3b04eade7b2dc620b the graph no longer works but reddit indicates it's pretty much as expected: Glen Iris Brighton Hawthorn Toorak Caulfield East Camberwell Richmond Malvern Kew Black Rock the caulfield racecourse area works for me as, as a glen iris resident (yeah!! top of the table...now win a final), it's about a 7-10 min drive away, depending on lights
-
i'll disagree a bit here - i think it was as much about gawn not being able to be a #1 forward target grundy was only ever a ruckman, not a forward target, at the end of the day i do wonder how it would've worked if the skipper hadn't been injured early on vs the bears in rd 2 - the grawndy combo looked okay in pre-season and r1, and then they never really got a decent crack at it outside of that gawn is the game's generational ruckman; to have him deployed forward for over half the game is to waste a unique playing talent

it's the ground hard as a rock and players routinely mention being 'sore' after playing there

i suspect, judging on the initial training reports, that plugger mac will return to defence for casey
-
nice work @Demonland
-
thanks for confirmation / rebuttal not really - the filth has nearly as many aligned members in the mcc as mfc these days (well, at least according to a journo whose industry knowledge i trust)
-
yet our actual 'base' of supporters has swung green, teal, and red glen iris, malvern, malvern east, caulfield - all skewing left
