  1. it's clear we are the top three sides in the competition this season crows played us off the park for two quarters at our home ground - they'll be tough to beat in finals i think bears are a bit the same, and that's why the final home game of the season is so, so important i WANT that mclelland trophy
  2. 6: hanks 5: purcell 4: heath 3: gillard 2: b mackin 1: hore
  3. was lucky enough to be at the function in the pavilion; first time i've been to princes park since stewart loewe kicked a bag vs the tigs in 95 - it's a pretty nice ground! it would make so much sense as a boutique stadium for when some of the interstate sides tour and they want to pack out a ground rather than have 12k make docklands feel positively empty for north vs gc17 for women's footy, it seems to work really well - tonite was a perfect nite for footy, which helped to hold a fellow top 4 team to 1 point in the last three and a half quarters is an incredible performance, especially as they looked very good with overlap run in the first ten minutes of the game gillard is a wall
  4. he's gonna get it free for the filth again, isn't he...
  5. vibes and gut feels are meaningless all that matters is reality, which is that he's contracted with mfc until the end of 2025
  6. of course his head was turned by the crom offer - he could buy the majority of wudinna for the contract $$s he was offered unfortunately, he, his manager, and the crom has ZERO bargaining power as he's under contract for another TWO seasons note that neither he, his manager, or the respective clubs ever confirmed that he was actively seeking a trade... until such a time as the player - or, more realistically, their manager - requests the trade it's all just fugazi
  7. tim lamb is is so good - he shuts down every journo and just glares at stupid questions
  8. aints don't need to speak to us we speak to billings' manager, billings' manager speaks to us...deal will be done by deadline
  9. 20 year old small forwards who kick 40 goals in a preliminary finals side and the following year play a role in a premiership don't grow on trees he knows where the goals are but his defensive side is severely lackly good get for the dorks i reckon
  10. pick 1 (hodge) for pick 10 (mcpharlin) and croad
  11. there won't be any announcement for some time these things take time
  12. people also forget that jonno brown went into a forward line that already had lynch, bradshaw, pike, hart, power, mcrae, headland moving in and out from midfield... it was a helluva side
  13. @binman - i think you'll find that jonno brown was 100% regarded as the best player in his draft the bears got him as a father-son gift cos his dad played 51 games with fitzroy; i believe it was part of the reason it was extended to 100 games from 50
  14. would be in our best 23
  15. bernie vince was the last player we got from the crom for a second rounder?
  16. lol, 'stand off' we made an offer and the crom eventually dragged their knuckles along the ground to the table and did the deal
  17. there's a common theme occurring... jake melksham - second rounder michael hibberd - second rounder ed langdon - second rounder (effectively) brodie grundy - second rounder shane mcadam - second rounder any others?
  18. we did use it; on fullarton we traded a second rounder in 2022 for a second rounder in 2024 it was an experiment; it failed
  19. curious to know why you think petty will be absent for that length of time
  20. a good 💀🏇 is second only to a 🏆🏃‍♂️ the 2023 dream was to have both...alas...
  21. multiple 💀🏇 for flagmantle in 2024
  22. 6: bannan 5: hore 4: a mackin 3: mithen 2: purcell 1: birch
  23. i agree he's younger, his kicking is superior, and there's none of this off-field malarkey for the same reason errol gulden - who is also out of contract next year - is likely to have a higher 'value' than clayton but if terms of trade value, butters is probably 'worth more' than the bont as well
  24. i understand where kornes is saying that 'his value will never be higher' but he's only looking at it from a trade perspective not from a team structure perspective he's so blinded by the need for MOAR CONTENT that he's missing the bigger picture, which is that with petty we're closer to a premiership than without him in our best 23
  25. kornes is just about generating content connors was right in his assessment a month or so ago; there's little movement this year as a) clubs are reasonably happy with where their list builds are at, and 2) the cba uncertainty has stymied movement
