  1. i didn't think it was a rumour, i thought this was already confirmed?
  2. and the part that most annoyed me is that they made it sound like we had a year to sign him up or we'd lose him he's signed for two more seasons, not one
  3. they do - or the threaten to do so - if the compensation isn't what they want
  4. is this incompetent [censored] capable of getting ANYTHING right? he's a restricted free agent at the end of 2025 if he elects to go and we're not happy with the compo, we can match ffs, ralph is a hopeless 'journalist'
  5. no it's not, it's gross; gets the people going
  6. draftguru.com.au
  7. one of the greatest heists ever - doesn't even show that the crom traded all those picks for bryce gibbs, who was out of the competition before his contract with them even expired
  8. no it's not; it's a vampire
  9. grundy is a pretty big name on a huge salary it didn't work; move on there's no one that's a 'surprise' on the move this year other than schultz who has quite clearly been tapped up by the filth in addition to wanting to return to melbourne for personal reasons - same as the crom tapping up petty to try and pry him loose we've moved pawns around and would appear to be in a decent position from a salary cap point of view to keep adding to our list in the years to come
  10. like who? there's not many quality players on the move this off-season mckay? pass doedee? pass grundy? tried that, didn't work adams? pass
  11. not in a pink fit
  12. terrible deal for melbourne
  13. with the reports that we only intend to use two 'live' picks in this draft i think that fairly neatly summarises why we're happy to trade out of excess picks think of it as 11 for 14, with the extra picks given away as they're worthless...to us
  14. Just enough to pay to keep Petty away from the crom…
  15. bzt is at peptides and want to go to the pear; how are the bloods getting any pick traded for him?
  16. good luck to him the most important thing is his entire salary is off our books going forward
  17. i'm going to have a wild stab in the dark... teams we'll play twice: brisbane carlton collingwood fremantle gc17 port adelaide western bulldogs teams we'll play once: adelaide essendon geelong gw$ hawthorn north melbourne richmond st. kilda sydney west coast i fully expect the only ones of those we'll play as a home team at 'the g' will be crom, dorks, and bloods, with gw$ 'home' in the alice geelong at morder, north in tassie, and probably peptides for gil's gather round again
  18. he doesn't suit our style of play his attitude might've been great, as was his ruckwork and ball winning ability, but his workrate and defensive accountability was lacklustre he also showed no ability to be a target forward of the ball, which is pretty much a mandatory requirement for nearly every ruckman in the competition these days i think he'll be fantastic for sydney
  19. if we really do go to the draft with picks 5 and 13, then i expect one of them will be in our starting 23 immediately - they should be more than talented enough - push smith to sub for mine, and whack a talented kid into the starting 22 i see amw as a half-forward who works up and down the ground, not a mid, while woewodin should be inside mid rotating forward from next season on based on this, we look light on for small defenders - brown isn't one like his dad was, based upon underage football we also look top heavy with experienced but underwhelming experienced talls in the front half for casey, which will make it difficult to develop jefferson
  20. i'll be surprised if we do
  21. the problem with this is that players demand trades and pretty much always get their way if clubs had the ability to trade players under contract where they so chose, he would - as you said earlier - probably be exchanged for one of north's end of first round compo-for-being-[censored] picks and he'd be there for a year before being able to sign wherever he wants as a free agent the trade and free agency system in afl is garbage
  22. schulz replaces adams as a high half forward
  23. i remain to be convinced that they're worth that
  24. 2 knee recos is irrelevant value and length of the contract, and other free agency moves this off-season, determine the value of the compensatory pick i reckon it's basically bang on the money - the fact that the bears, filth, and previously the puddy tatts have all been keen on him sais a lot to me about how highly rated he is by the good teams
  25. they tried him on the wing and half-back. and it just didn't work - on-baller rotating forward is his best role and absolutely gus and sparrow are superior in the role over the last two years as 4 and 5; gus arguably was starting rotation in 2023
