  1. no need to play two tall backs as they've not got one tall forward

    OUT: hunter, petty, tomlinson, sparrow
    IN: jvr, tholstrup, woewodin

sparrow as the sub, i guess

their pressure at ground level will destroy us; filth by 42

    maynard bog

  2. Gawn is a marvel but can’t do it all

Petracca can’t kick - either to goal or to a teammate

Viney can’t move away from oppo

Clayton’s lack of preseason has destroyed his ability to power out of contests

    Sparrow is a plodder

Playing ANB in midfield has robbed us of his key role as a forward pressure player: ditto Pickett, and neither reliably hit targets by foot

    There are no other options

Word from inside the Fremantle camp is that the Dockers are pumped and supremely confident about getting the W today. They’ve beaten us the last two times at home and don’t see beating us at Alice Springs as a problem.

yeah but how would they go at caulfield race course?

Woey jnr as sub again.  Is that six times now !!! FFS.  Might as well send him away to another club.  Give him a full game.  Hunter should be sub imv.

it works, as he can play multiple roles

    faith in the footy dept

If bailey Laurie and tholstrup can get games, gentile surely can. He made them look like D graders today

yep they are on afl lists and he's been ignored in three straight drafts

Would be ready made to come into the afl team tomorrow. Don't understand why we picked a guy averaging 10 possies and 7 hit outs a game when there's these vfl superstars up for grabs

i really don't see him as being ready-made to come into our midfield at afl level in place of petracca, oliver, viney, sparrow, anb, or pickett

he sure can win a lot of the footy tho

Just to state… you had to see his game v Sandringham.  No meaningless kick outs !!! Definitely showed all the qualities of an AFL player.  By the way he offers more than Laurie.  His speed and ball winning is better.  Also his upside is better than Hunter and Billings who are in the decline in my view.

I think he’s more of a forward than a defender.  Actually not sure why Dee’s trying to turn him into a defender.   I’d play him across half forward.  His tackling alone and better than most small forwards , and more like Chandler.   Deserves a game ahead of them.

i think he offers a lot more as a rebounding defender in 2024 than he ever did as a forward in 2022-23

he didn't apply enough defensive pressure last few seasons

his overlap run and ability to impact in the air and at ground level as a defender is really encouraging

if one of bowey, salem, or rivers was to be unavailable you would expect he'd be in line for a debut

I like the Crows list, their best players are very good, and I keep on expecting them to "emerge". Enough is enough. I am not a fan of coach sacking but Nicks has had 5 seasons, and they simply cannot play 4 quarters of decent footy, and too often play slack, boring, risk-free footy.

The young Hawks are the opposite. I love the way they are playing. Their young, no-name players are playing with hunger and aggression.

didn't nicks get a new deal at the start of the season? their form away from the adelaide oval and without tex is a massive issue for his job security

their forward structure is really missing thilthorpe

Please tell me how a bottom team like hawks find a way to find fwds vs our Achilles heal since winning the flag

their forward line is built around ground level smalls providing ground pressure - moore, ginnivan - plus an aging breust and gunston, and a spare parts option in chol

they've got a gun father-son in dear for the future tho

really, the best tall forwards come out of the first round, academy, or father-son selections

We have a small forward crumbing goal sneak who brings some pressure i50 but we prefer to use him down back 100% of time this season for some reason.   I'm still not sure why given we have no quality smalls.

And pls don't throw Neocleous in there.  Guy can barely kick over a barn door

i personally think amw offers a lot more coming off half back than he did in previous seasons as a forward

when deployed as a forward he never applied anywhere enough defensive pressure

at least as a half back rebounder he's providing plenty of overlap run
