Should Jack Viney consider amputating his toe for the team?
layzie replied to Mel Bourne's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hmmm short answer yes with an if, long answer no with a but.. -
The guys on the Deebrief podcast mentioned that a few weeks back when they interviewed David. I think one of them actually yells out Neita during games when T-Mac clunks one!
-
At least you addressed us as posters. Been called a lot worse :p

Totally forgot about the 3:20. Might shave a few off especially if its cold, 28k sounds fair.

Such a good eye for the ball in flight! Had the odd miss lately but generally bang on. Stoked with how he's gone this season.
-
Couldn't agree more. Was very hard for their forwards to get any separation, I thought he was outstanding. Definitely true though. On the flip side as a forward you can have a shocking game but bob up and kick the winning goal and you're a god!
-
Interesting, I look forward to that! A good example of what the coaches saw in JKH as a benefit that we might have missed the first few weeks he was back?
-
He has quietly gone about it and put together easily his most consistent season. I still think there is room for improvement in his decision making but he's absolutely on the right trajectory.
-
Absolutely, his ability to cover the park should not be underestimated
-
Bit like our massive small forward glut
-
I think he's inspirational but in a different way. It won't be any one moment like a bump or miraculous gather but he's the epitome of giving your all for the entirety of game and the players do see that. Regardless of the score he just keeps on going, it may not be glamorous or a memorable inspiration act but its still leadership.

I like it, but one of my dearest wishes also is for Collingwood to miss top 4.

We have won 14 (Premiership) quarters and lost two by a point
layzie replied to DEE fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is it. The 4th doesn't have to be our best quarter but we must get back that ability to close out games. Getting to the point where we can't even feel a tiny bit comfortable until we're up by 6 or 7 goals at 3 qtr time. -
I think we can crack 30k. Get on down people and bring out the demon in us all!

There’s still time!

Tex and Jenkins, softest big men in the game
layzie replied to thesleepinggiant's topic in Melbourne Demons
Maybe there can be a forum for General AFL talk to keep this stuff out of the MFC forum. -
Yep, definitely proven his worth. Surely we can look past a few gaffes here and there.
-
Yep, I’m with you there. Still goes hard, still leads by example. The very notion of ‘resting’ him is absurd. Not his best game on Sat but he’ll be back on very shortly.
-
Good idea but it would be nice to keep a few sick day bullets In the chamber for September ?
-
I'm so not in dare to dream mode. We have a different mission

Happy with the timeslot, scared about the possible Sunday night heartbreak. Makes Monday that little bit harder.
-
That is the big if, needs to be a much better ball user. We're hardly laden with good delivery out of defensive 50.

The more games Smith gets the better. I was terribly frustrated with him on Saturday night but I still have a lot of faith that he is going to be a valuable part of the back 6 in time. Maybe needs another pre-season but I do feel it will come together for him once he gains some more 'football sense'. He's got some great natural tools.

Liked his game last night. Wasn’t all smooth sailing but I really liked his attack on the ball and kicks to our advantage. I’m sure if he keeps working his butt off the rewards will come.
