Bigger Bench?
Yeah I wasn't sure about this and didn't really get the rationale behind it. Shorter quarters but more on the bench. The people 'for' shorter quarters use the point that the best players stay on longer so how would this help that argument? One or the other I think.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs Carlton
We need guys who are prepared to run both ways.

Virtual Fans at Games
Just wait for the ball to hit a defenceless cutout of a young kid in the crowd and HD cameras catching it perfectly. Have fun with that PR AFL.

Hutchy on Max’s Hair
He's great value on Twitter Mags!

Financial Issues MFC
Yeah I know, it is simplistic. And I think most of us hope we even get another 5 year period to have that crack. I Just feel like we're in this 'one foot in front of the other phase' for the moment. Like most businesses just trying to survive and come out the other end and then try to build it back up again. Still so much uncertainty though.

Cap May Squeeze Out Fritsch
He's a thumping kick but just needs to tighten up this area with routine consistency in front of goal. Would hope we lock him in.

Top 10 MFC Indigenous Players
Can't really fault the list. I think Farmer reached the greatest heights so no.1 is sealed. Flash for what he turned into can't be ignored, a great career and always someone you were glad was on our side.

Financial Issues MFC
Only thing that's going to help us is results at this stage. Members that can help the club thank you, members doing it tough I understand. We just need results.

No More Booing or Shouting at Games
What's the point, cardboard cutouts are the future anyway.

Jack Steven Incident
After reading the Brock McLean article I can't help but think he's in the same mould. Hopefully he gets it together.

Sacked: Brock McLean reveals booze and drug binges
One of the more strange and weird articles I've seen recently. Firstly I'm sorry to hear about his struggle and hopefully he's finally on the up. No-one deserves to feel worthless. Things have never quite added up when it came to Brock and his football career. Great in and under on baller, good vision to make up for his lack of pace. Was part of the future identity of our club going forward and putting 10k of his own money to our cause led by Jimmy highlighted his then love for the club. He then leaves, urinates on his former club on live tv and then goes on a trail of erratic behavoir attacking trolls on Twitter and losing the plot in games. After he left Melbourne I never heard him say a nice thing about the club again. Not saying he didn't have good reason to but it's very sad when this wasn't just any MFC player. In 2016 I was coming back from Bright after the annual Brighter Days festival and saw him at the Euroa servo with a crew of biker types, probsbly means nothing but it does explain a bit about the company he was keeping around the time of his lowest of lows. Don't have much else to say about it really, just these observations. The photo was disturbing. Nothing wrong with his image but when paired with this article it wreaks of identity crisis.

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs West Coast
One of the saddest days in footy was Fitzroy’s last game and it was in Perth. Very similar feel, who knows when we see our beloved Demons again in the Comp we know and love. 1 quarter to go.

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs West Coast
That’s the Melbourne I know

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs West Coast
Bit late to the party but there’s nothing but strange feelings. Haven’t felt like this since the merger game in 96.

Lions Trying to Avoid "Doing a Melbourne"
Why is the comparison so obvious according to Mitch? Not pulling a Bulldogs, not an Adelaide, no it’s definitely Melbourne. Only remote similarity is being out of the finals so long.

Petracca Closes in on New Deal
Good to hear, now let’s get it done! Relatively early would be nice. Save the ego for the next contract after he’s torn the competition apart.

Gawn Set to Be Named Sole Captain
Well that could indeed be the case, I think a lot of us thought Jack might have been the heart and soul of the club with his history and his never say die approach. We can only go by what we see I guess.

POSTGAME: MS01 vs Adelaide
Lever has got his eye in again Mitch Brown adds something else to the forward line Ed Langdon finds space with his running, badly needed Viney’s tackling pressure immense Trac showing hopefully a glimpse of what’s to come. He’s huge but he looks to have more agility now. The guys look primed fitness wise, The hard mental breaking yards have been done and these guys look like a group of SAS soldiers.

The Three Votes
Ripping videos mate! Look forward to more!

Gawn Set to Be Named Sole Captain
It’s the right way to go. Jack will still very much be a spiritual leader and continue to lead by example on the field. It also doesn’t rule out regaining the role down the track. Captaincy is never an exact science.

GAMEDAY: MS01 vs Adelaide
Definitely a bit of excitement and it’s good to see most here share that view. No real expectations other than I’m interested in seeing how Trac is used, how Mitch Brown fits and our Pickett looks. There’s probably more but I’m happy to just observe.

The Soccer thread
A typical Simeone performance from Athletico this morning, credit to them it makes the tie more interesting.

Where are they now - Rod Grinter
Cheers for the tip WJ! Look forward to it, enjoyed his DL and Open Mike interviews in the past.
