  1. I know this is a slightly long bow but if he's anything like he was on FC the day he got sacked then it will be a serious waste of time watching it. Master deflector of hard questions and stubborn as anything.
  2. I love seeing this. Everyone who sets foot in this club should at least be aware of our history and what has shaped us as a club.
  3. Our half forwards must push up when we get it and make options. Massive effort needed from Milkshakes, Hannan and ANB here. I never buy into the Ablett out of from thing. Very wary of his potential impact.
  4. First of all the timing on this one is questionable but it was probably going to come up at some point. Its a very tricky situation as this particular era of the footy club should be remembered in some kind of form but not to dwell on. When Jimmy came in the intentions were very good and he rallied everyone like few others could. He was incredibly ill in those last few years and fought on when it may have been best to step away. Don Mclardy is a good man and from the outside seemed like a great right hand for Jimmy, he was a reluctant president. Schwab was a good appointment when it was made, finally we had a credible CEO at AFL level. Who would have thought he'd save his worst years for those last 3 with us? I don't know, I really don't have a definitive opinion on this. I do think the focus should be on the job that the Bartlett/Jackson/Roos era have done to get us back. The others should be noted as part of the journey but not in full focus, not for now at least.
  5. My thoughts exactly, I thought we were going back to the grand final for at least the next 3 years after that when finally after the monstrosity of 2003 I finally realised the moment had passed.
  6. Wow, very interesting. Not a chance i’ll watch this week.
  7. Love that place. Pizza by the metre! Would love to go there more often.
  8. Definitely a lot better than the ones I took!
  9. FourFourTwo would be the pick of them. As far as I know Match is still going. It’s been so long since I bought a magazine of anything, pathetic I know.

Was meant to do this last year but am usually terrible with these things. Will make the effort this time! I’m going with Bengals, Steelers, Titans
  11. Yeah for sure. Forest is another one I have a soft spot for. As for Aston Villa, I still can’t fathom the idea that they aren’t in the Premier League. Such a proud club. In the 90s I was a fan of British Soccer Week the magazine. I miss going to the newsagents.

Absolutely. It just seemed like they were at a point where the would challenge for playoffs but as you said Gruden wants to put his stamp on things. I’m a big fan of Mack I really don’t think DEs like that come round often.
  13. Awesome to hear he’s playing a part. It’s like a feel good movie!
  14. Tyson looked unlikely to me but a week could make a big difference.

Huge deal for Mack he’s done well. How did the Raiders stuff this up? Was a franchise player and edge rushers make the difference.
  16. Yeah sounds right, from what I hear had great controlled passing. Glenn Hoddle, amazing player. The most non typical English player you could get, if he was French he probably would have had 200 caps. One of my good friends is a massive Sheffield Wednesday fan so I’m used to hearing a lot of hatred towards Leeds haha. I don’t mind them though!
  17. Actually you might be the guy to ask this question. What was Trevor Brooking like as a player and which midfielder of recent times did he most resemble? I've tried to ask around but haven't got an in depth answer yet. Would you go back quite as far as Bobby Moore and Hurst? Leeds is definitely a sad story. I love watching docos or reading stuff about the Don Revie Leeds sides of the 60s and 70s. Bremnar, Lorimer, Gray, Charlton. Would have been an awesome side to follow at the time. Very hard to believe. Liverpool never had trouble finding the right men for the job of manager, Paisley was from the Shankly school, Fagan and Dalglish from the Paisley school right up until Roy Evans was when that lineage ended and since then we've really been in the wilderness. Not to mention other clubs have become stronger (some with mass wealth). Dynasties do come to an end eventually. Can't see City losing it to be honest, there's just too much quality in that squad. Unless more injuries like De Bruyne happen! Spurs can definitely challenge despite any big signings. Chelsea could be anything.
  18. Gee it’s great in theory but I need Collingwood out of the finals as quickly as possible.
  19. Nice! Plenty of respect there, always had a soft spot for the Hammers. Loved the Redknapp era and enjoyed the Alan Pardew team with Benayoun, Mullins, Gabbidon that made the FA Cup final. As you say though it is very hard to follow a club in that position. The only real hope is a dream run in a cup tournament. Definitely wouldn’t rule out a super Euro league. If it means money of course it will get looked at.
  20. He’s god’s gift to the dictionary
  21. Great photos. Looks like you had a decent camera? If that’s a phone job I’m super impressed!
