We're sitting here worried about going forward with Trac, Clarry and Viney in the middle all the time when the stats are clearly showing that Kozzie had around 20 CBAs. It's annoying because now you have to think about a new complaint to have about our midfield 😛

Interesting Daz. After he retired I would have thought coaching was a natural move for him as he does seem to have the brain for it. I'm actually surprised to hear that he's not in the AFL anymore, last I remember he'd gone back to GWS from Sydney. Probably a sign.

Couldn't agree more on the new site. The south-eastern corner makes a lot of sense and would have more scope for development. As the son of an architect I had shadowing concepts drummed into me all my life. Sun positioning, time of year, angle of casting relative to building height etc. Almost couldn't get away from these conversations but thankfully it's given me some knowledge and this site would be much less invasive at all times of the year in terms of shadowing as opposed to the south-western corner. The access is a big part of it too considering this will be one of the most commonly used features. Really hope we get some traction on this.

With the space they have at Caulfield they could have a god damn petting zoo if they wanted.

Missed opportunity for sure, but this was a game where the weather should have dampened Collingwood's running and slingshot style. They played the game mostly on our terms and won, makes me sick to say it. 2023 was definitely the season that got away, but while this game was a major miss it gets a little overblown in my view in comparison to the Swans one.

This. The Sydney QF gets glossed over as an afterthought in the line of 4 MCG finals losses. People talk about Collingwood and that could have been very different but were were generally trailing by 3 goals for most of the game after QT. The Sydney game could have been the statement, back in Melb and mean business. I was behind the goals at the Punt Rd end when Clarry's set shot went through and thought bang, bang, bang mk2 was in the works. Our system would have seen that game out 9 times out of 10. Guess we were just too banged up.

It's a tough one. We've got plenty who are good with butcher's knives but arrows? I'd probably just give the bow to someone like Langford.

I would expect a bold move to be made this year at trade. I don't necessarily want to but as many have said, the list is in danger of ending up in St Kilda no mans land. A tough call needs to be made and I'm not sure exactly who that should be, it all depends on currency but the real talk to fans is whether you're more concerned about success or having one club players. Successful clubs are constantly looking through the windshield and not the rear view mirror.

I think 'unsure of his body' is probably the best wording he could have used. I did notice it and it's very understandable that he's not going to be crashing into packs 100% of the time. Mind you I have seen the Trac of old many times this year and wondered how he put his body on the line. It's going to take some time to be at full confidence.

And one of the key observations here is that it didn't matter whether the previous coach had been there a short time or a long time, a new coach gave an instant lift. I don't think Bing is necessarily wrong, it's easy to want to change a coach for the sake of it. The results from here on out are going to dictate terms unfortunately. I'm still completely undecided on what should happen. I know the buck stops with the coach but I also can't help but feel that the club has failed to produce a good supporting cast around him these last couple of seasons. Chocco was such an amazing get in 2021 and his new ideas were taken to instantly. Luring someone like a Bartel could have had this exact same effect when the team was craving some change. And it has been obvious that Goodwin needs his right hand strategist like Yze and Jennings. I believe we've found a good fit since then. Whatever decision is made, you don't always have to be happy with it as a fan to accept that it may well be the right one.

Does this mean another feasibility study incoming? More patience required. At this point I don't care as long as the ground we get has goalposts that make us kick goals.

Not the 9 years hell no. Just a duration of time that exceeds any sacking talk. But honestly, as much as I'm not fully in the sack Goodwin camp. A bottom 4 finish will do him absolutely no favours.

The 50 at the end of the 3rd quarter against Jack Viney enraged me. Yes this was likely bad umpiring but so often I find that this team loves to put themselves in precarious positions late in quarters when the game is in the balance. 30 seconds before this we saw Disco Turner take a great mark on 50 and launch it in, at this point I'm thinking that at very least we'll get one more look at goal, yet Clarry scuffs his snap from close range. The next thing you know, Viney with 3 seconds left, not only gives away a free, but a 50 and a goal. The free looked extremely harsh but why are we not just standing the mark and putting the arms in the air instead of arguing or not giving the ball back quick enough? What you do in red time counts and the difference between a 9 and 15 point deficit at 3QT matters.

Look Deezone it was a dangerous tackle free 7 times out of 10. It's a slightly different slant on it because although you can make a case that this call, a 50 and then a very generous 50 at that were terrible, I find that this team constantly finds ways to shoot ourselves in the foot and put ourselves in that position to begin with. I watched the last 90 seconds of that quarter again just now. It was the most exciting period of the game and it was end to end, you felt like someone was going to come up trumps but I was really hoping we could just get to the end of the quarter. With about 40 seconds left Turner takes a towering mark right on the paint of 50, doubles back and launches us in to the square. At this point I'm honestly thinking that if we don't get a chance on goal that we'll at least get it to ground and lock it down for some seconds. What happens next? Petty contests and does get it to ground, it flicks out to Fritsch who gets into a bit of space and handballs over to a running Oliver who snaps on the left from about 15 to 20 metres out and it lands in the goalsquare where the Port defender marks on the chest. Incredible. Yet at this point with 20 seconds, there is still no thought that Port will even come close to kicking one. What we could have done here alone would have negated any conversation after that. The rest is history, unlucky free but does Viney really have to play tackle driver then and there? I don't know. 50 may have been harsh but why aren't we just giving the ball straight back? It's these little things that I see time and time again at the death of quarters that really costs us.
