  10. Swans gamestyle dampens on a wet track
  11. Wet track
  12. Is he out of contract or something? Hard to see him leaving for anything other than a lead role.
  13. One of the best all round kicks of a footy I've seen. Congrats Dusty.

Are we looking for inspiration for going through dark periods?
  15. "I thought we played well but just couldn't kick straight, look how many times we hit the post" Any assessment of our games from now on that sound like this I'll be taking with a generous pinch of salt. We've got enough sample data over time where this has happened again and again and again. if it costing us two finals last year wasn't enough and you're happy to keep trotting this out, I cannot help you to see the light. The fact of the matter is that the bad kicking contributes to a bad performance. Part of a good performance means getting enough of those kicks through the big sticks. Time to stop bemoaning bad luck for these results, yes some of those shots were good efforts but near enough is not good enough when it comes to this area and there is no column on the ladder for near misses.
  16. Not if he's an unrestricted free agent
  17. You're right. The only thing I hope for now is how we can deal with these things better and continuous improvement of medical processes on match day.
  18. At the time I thought the Maynard bountygate talk was a bit much. I’m still of the same opinion that it wouldn’t have been right to go after Maynard but after a few days I can see why a thread like this was probably worth the discussion. I personally don’t think Maynard is a thug, I maintain that what he did was a football act that went horribly wrong. But this doesn’t mean that I excuse it. If you choose to leap off the ground at a player and miss the ball it doesn’t exonerate you from all potential consequences that could happen next. The fact is that his action knocked a guy out and caused a retirement and he still needs to live with that fact. The wider public (and it only seems to come from fans outside of MFC) claiming that he had a history of concussion and should have been retired already completely miss the point on this. I maintain that a bump or two and letting him know we were there and in his face was the way to go and it sounds like that is the general consensus here. There was no need to be chummy with him after the game, quick hand shake and off. Not cut and dry, plenty of grey areas.
  19. Yes a very sickening feeling indeed
  20. Who cares, we got RoCo behind us now. That's all I need.
  21. "Hiatus from competitive football" made me giggle!
  22. Sorry what are we angry about again? The fact that they pulled him up on it, the rule being stupid, AFL acting 2 weeks later or the fact that the media reported on it? Asking for a friend.
  23. A tragic turn of events. I was hoping that he'd gotten away with a lower grade rupture for his health's sake. This injury has been too real and has gone beyond the question of how long he'll be off the field for, a man's health and future health is at stake. Questions of who is responsible and potential reviews, I'd like to think there will be a time and place for that. It just isn't right now for me, I really hope Christian can make a 100% full recovery. After that box is ticked off I will hope that he can return to playing eventually and getting back to what he does best. We love you mate and we're with you all the way.
  24. At first I thought it was low risk high reward but he's turning out to be a bit of a liability. Not enough tank to play wing, not enough pressure to be the high HFF. Neither fish nor fowl. As Roy said, will give him a bit more time as it's hard to judge anyone right now but it doesn't look like a long stay.
