Many years ago i worked for a market research company whilst at Uni. I take no notice of their figures for that reason, so much was fudged blatantly. My point is, i think we have a huge dormant supporter base who do not even admit they are demons. We have been crap for to long! -

We have a huge dormant supporter base.Stop thinking we are a small club forever. This is great timing, My respect for Bartlett has just risen substantially. He has had a long term since he arrived (New York Yankees) I have wondered whether phase 2 would happen.

We look forward. PJ has done his job magnificently and is always welcome to attend MFC functions. Pert has been head hunted as the best replacement...

I think PJ would be ecstatic that Pert is the man to grow the club after he rebuilt the foundations. Both were topline operators of big clubs

Thanks. Membership exploded whilst Pert was there. Exactly what we need, from that we get exposure and better fixtures. To grow you must take carefully planned risks. Some may fail, but the wins can be huge.

Not sure ET but i would guess 35-40,000 in 2007. I do know it grew quickly...

He helped them get to 75,000 members That is exactly what we need right now. PJ built the solid foundations and should forever be revered at the MFC

SWYL’s take on this decision Pert was a great CEO at The Filth, he was there for 11 years. Probably too long in the AFL Bubble. I hope he is as good as PJ, this club must be grown. We are Melbourne. Capital City of AFL Heartland Let’s start being that club 80,000, 90,000, 100,000 Members is what we should expect. I have heard people on here say that we will never be a big club. I say Bullsh!t to that.

We lost the game today because all 6 of our midfielders were thrashed from the first bounce. For about 15 minutes of the 2nd Quarter this changed, but it couldn’t be maintained.

The midfield were smashed to pieces from the first bounce today. I am more concerned with Jones once again, not standing up in a big game than Lewis at Half Back. The ball was fired at him far too many times. Our midfield had a dominant Ruckmen feeding them at all angles and they failed him miserably without a whimper... Lewis is not the problem...

$11 million could become alot more if used wisely. The $5 mill debt is not a major problem if the investment is the right one. Yes it is a risk, but what isn’t in life. What becomes of the $11mill will ultimately give us the legacy of PJ. If he oversees a successful investment that generates funds and increases in value, then this could be the biggest decision the MFC makes. To become self reliant and a Major Force within the AFL Comp, where we once were.

Stringer had issues outside of the club, yes it impacted his game after a period of time, but when he was drafted he was ready to go. Not like the Plethera of hopeless drafting the MFC embarked upon from 2008-13 under the astute guidance of our previous CEO Mr. Whiteboard, whereby we employed under weight and under developed choir boys who looked lovely wearing Blazers. I don’t think anyone has ever drafted worse than the MFC between those years
