The Sydney Conductor who guested on “Spi.cks and Specks” many times, he died last year. I met him a few times at work, absolute top bloke. He made me understand what a Conductor is actually doing

I am not doing that, yet. But if Max and Preuss can work together and give each other breaks from being crashed into, then they could become a great combination for the MFC -
Yes i agree 2019 is all about Attitude at all levels of the MFC

Conductors are incredible when they are working hard, listening and projecting to an 88 piece Orchestra. Like a top snooker player they have to be thinking 2-3 bars ahead all the time, as well as the actual moment
-
That was more of the line of thinking i had.

Ruckman have always worked with little guys. They still remain tall when the shorter guys who can take a high mark lose their spring late in the game. That has always been the case. Yes they are more mobile now and cover more of the ground, that was what Jim started. Stynesy was superfit before it became a standard level for big men -

If Strawbs hadn’t been suspended for the ‘88 GF we were a much better chance. Danny Hughes started in the Ruck that day. Whorethorn must have been laughing theier guts out sadly. -

The role of the tall ruckman hasn’t changed much at all. Big Jimma was the first really mobile Half Back Sweeper His style of play is still used today -
About 90% of Hollywood was Gay back then, but yes the outside world didn’t want to know.

I will. Have seen some clips of it years ago Still love Hogan’s Heroes though Klink (who was actually Jewish) made the show a classic

Not at all. After Round 4 last year I certainly was wondering whether Goodwin was the right guy to coach this broken club, which it had been for a long time. But i was always prepared to give him time to prove himself. Which he certainly looks to have done. Sacking him at that point was not on my radar

Oh yes Bob Crane had a very shady life outside of acting.

Dead right. Max was exhausted last year and the year before he tore the Hammy off the bone. It’s not rocket science as to why Preuss was targeted. The fact that he was keen is a bonus -

30 years ago we had Big Jimma and Strawbs O’Dwyer They went alright together in the same team (when Strawbs wasn’t getting reported!!) -
Having Testicular Cancer and his Father dying in the one year is fairly solid evidence

Goodwin’s coaching deserved to be questioned after the Round 4 game 2018. The White Flag went up that day, something we had all seen before with this club. But whatever the problems were, they were addressed and sorted. I give Goodwin strong credit for that, but I certainly do not expect to see anything like that style of game in 2019.

It’s unfinished Business. That is the way all levels of the club must view last year. We all got on board and it was great. But we fell short by a long way actually. Players cannot be mentally exhausted with 2 games to go. In years gone by, when we got close The Club retreated after getting a sniff. 2019 must be diferent. 88 Quarters must be fought out at 100% Then September begins all over again

He ran a long way with 90,000 people on his shoulders. He did a mighty job to stay cool and slot it

Round 22 1987 will always be a special one, as were the next 2 weeks. QF ‘94 Beating Carlscum. We were rank outsiders. 2000 QF Beating those arrogant [censored] again, after Arron Hammil knocked himself out. But the Home and Away game i always love was 1990 Windy Hill Beating Essendrug Darren Bennett kicking post high goals in the last Quarter and taking a huge mark over Van der Haar getting out of that dump was scary I must add last years Final against Jeelong It was a a very special night but i was too stressed to enjoy most of it. I had to go for a walk in the 2nd Q, we just couldn’t score!!!
