Yes i know we got hit hard, so did Richmond and Meth Coke. What has worried me more than that, is the skill level of those that were not injured. Our “elite” midfield and forward line should have taken a lot of heat off the Backline, but this wasn’t even close to happening This is the bigger issue for me. I have never seen an AFL side drop it’s skill level, across the board and in one pre season like the 2019 MFC. There is far more at play than just the injury list I believe.

Well said Billy. Most of those points you make are not injury related, but are skill and fitness based and a lot of attitude. I cannot understand why the skills and attitude are down this year. How much is the Football Department hurting? Why do players just jog around, including the Captain more than a few times...Why? Keep up the good analysis

The depth of our fall and the complete lack of basic skills this year gives some cred to Lyon’s use of the word... He may well have used it as a direct stab at the club, to get their shiit together too, and as a past Captain and fine player G. Lyon is allowed to do....

Max has huge talent, but he needs to work harder at kicking. He could be an all time great if he could kick 25-30 goals a year Jim Stynes could kick a few...

You may be right. I sincerely hope so, and now i am glad the spotlight is on us. We have to get stronger as a whole club and more clever. Yes we got injuries last summer, but i think in a few areas we went to sleep contented with a good year... we will find out soon enough

All Clubs get injuries and surgeries. Part of the game. If this does teach the club anything, it will be to have AFL standard depth players, that i agree with. This Club has a history of dropping off after a “good” year

Many sides play deep into September and then front up to do it again the next year, why should the MFC be any different? You speak of the Preseason giving us a clean sheet after this year, what happens if we have some injuries over Summer? Does that make 2020 another wasted year? We have to change that way of thinking. Statements i trot out... Right Did Meth Coke get out of Second gear yesterday? 5.1 to 1.5 at Quarter time says the Ghosts were lingering in a few minds. Regardless of G Lyon’s past involvements with Coaching Panels, he is on the money. This Club right now is in deep [censored], and it is going to take a huge effort to get it back on track. Who else falls this far, so quickly? WTF went on last summer? Why isn’t the list fit enough to play 4 Quarters. No excuses. Get a list ready to play 2 hours a week. Why wasn’t somebody in contact with Stephen May straight after his recruitment? Book a flight ✈️ Tell him what is required. Don’t wait for him just to roll up. That is f$&@ing unbelievable!!!! Record Memberships this year and we are served this cold turd each weekend. I honestly think Goodwin thought it would just roll on. Yes we had surgeries, but so did all clubs. We have 45 on the list... Why are the not fit??? I am glad the boots are being sunk in. We have had so much assistance and we throw it away everytime Get to work Simon. Next year starts now.

Leigh Matthews and Kevin Bartlett were gun forwards in their twilight years. It is worth considering. I hope Goodwin keeps him forward now...
