Where is there any evidence of the MCC not wanting to be part of the future?? Don’t make things up to suit your agenda. Neither the Club or the MCC have said anything is off the table yet, and i believe Pert when he says this is a long term project, because it is. As i said earlier, we have already cut ties with the MCC once before and it was a disaster, ultimately leading up to the dreaded 1996 Merger options i don’t want to go through ANY of that ever again...

I have to Disagree Rusty. We do need City Presence, why because we didn’t grow from a suburb (or patch) we are different to the other 17 clubs. We grew from from a Stadium ? that was next to inner Melbourne. We walked away from it once before 1981 i think it was, and became completely lost. The ties between the MCC and the MFC must remain strong and tight, otherwise we will slowly die.

The Coaches have got a long serious week. This is when they earn their big pay packets. The team is “close” to getting it right. We possess the ball so much. That is the hard part. “Connection” is actually the right word. We have a dodgy connection at present. It’s there but not reliable. It can be fixed, but it will be a long and intense week if it is. Winning next week over there would be huge.

Essendrug have moved to Essendrug Airport, which is part of Essendrug last time i looked. We must grow a City Presence in the CBD of Melbourne, with Training facilities close to that proximity We have never grown it properly through Board incompetence and just lacking drive. Pert i hope can make a difference

Amazing that some are putting up the White Flag (so that we improve for 2020!!) We of all clubs know the consequences of that thinking. We have had 2 lucky close wins to build some belief and resilience. We need to go into every game believing we can win, because of hard work. Yesterday was garbage, BUT The boys did not give up and they were rewarded with a Win. Our skills are well down, why i cannot tell, but i do feel the team will click very soon if they still believe in each other. Even if we finish 8th it is still valuable experience for a club that has failed so often. The last 40 seconds of yesterday’s game just might be the turning point for a run of wins against good teams.
