  1. Some of this i agree with. Benny Gale was a neighbour of mine 20 years ago. Had drinks with him a few times. Top Bloke, was not suprised when he took over Richmond. A very sharp operator. but i bet my left ball that Benny looked at The Richmond Football Department as the first place to sort out and worked his way out from there. Priorities, get the team functioning and then the other areas start to roll. We saw momentum in 2018, but it broke badly. Why? it wasn’t the Supporters or a lack of a Social Club, it was inside the Football Department
  2. We are different. The MFC grew from a Stadium, not a Suburb. But we do not use the name Melbourne enough. Melbourne as the Name of a big City. I am well aware of that. Have said it for years. but you and i are Fundamentally opposed as far as Operating Systems are concerned. A big Shiny Building will mean nothing if the Club is not winning. You Speak of Supporters running the win or lose mentality, that is only partially true. If the Football Department and Board are not running well, the Supporters will make no difference at all (Richmond were mostly Hot Air for 37 years, same can be said for Essendrug and Carlscum, lots of Hot Air lately) MFC Supporters have put up with far more crap than most, yes we could be louder, but how many times can you be let down?? 2019 was beyond a disgrace, and a social Club will not help matters at this point. It’s Football Department matters that need addressing. we need wins for relevance in a tight market, not a place for Birthday ? Parties ?
  3. It’s all for TV ? Absolutely nothing to do with the Players or the Match Day Crowd
  4. I want to see Wins on the weekend. You want to spend money on Bells and Whistles Get your priorities in order MFM If you are building a Race Car, the first part you work on is the MOTOR. That is the the Core. The Core Business of The MFC is to win games of Football. Get that right and then expand into the areas you dream of. If we do not start winning regularly then a brand new facility will become a soulless ghetto very quickly
  5. Nobody will go there if we are not winning. Fund the Football Department and the rest can follow
  6. Not at all. don’t put words in my mouth Viney and Jones were Captains in 2019 The Year was a Failure on many Levels. Both should step down
  7. Whoever was Captain in 2019 should be replaced. Whatever duties they performed failed. That is the reality. 2018 is a long time ago now...
  8. Yes. Win Games. Just do it. The rest is just Bullshite wallpaper. If we are to go into Hock I would rather pump big $$$’s into the Football Department than build a Social Club. there is good and bad debt. Winning breeds interest and finance.
  9. Who cares what Dal Santo thinks... Why is his word the Gospel now...
  10. We have to improve on field before any of what you mentioned ever gets built. momentum will breed momentum...
  11. Of course they would. How do we fix deficiencies...?
  12. Oh yes. We have gone below Subterranean, i am aware of that.
  13. Sliding Doors Sheeds accepts the Coaching Job at The MFC in 2008.....
  14. What a totally disgraceful decade. (So were the previous 40 years before that....) will we now improve as a Club? Or slip back to being exceptionally mediocre....
  15. R Flower is up there with Jimi Hendrix
  16. If Goodwin has aspirations to be a long term AFL Coach, we will play finals in 2020 and win more than we lose I think the Burgess appointment is going to help shape a very different Footy Dept.
  17. AJ got a perfect score at The B&F for that Final in 1988 A very underrated player outside of The MFC was Alan Johnson
  18. Hopefully sanity can prevail soon and we can have 1 Captain who leads a bunch of talented boys who know their jobs, and know when to react.
  19. Some pretty ordinary comments on here about Jeff...
  20. Lots of Essendrug Supporters are not happy Brown was chopped Could be an excellent late pick up Crack in and make that evil club regret Hate Essendrug till death
  21. Thompson certainly did.... Jeelong’s rise in 2007 was so swift. I still remember that game against Richmond, a mate rang me “Are you watching this..?” it was extraodinary, we will never know if it was magic juice, but nothing would suprise me with Thompson and Dank in tandem
  22. You could well be right, but i believe both Essendrug and Dank still have all the information well hidden. Neither is prepared to budge unless the other does.
  23. I wonder if he has any paperwork, USB Sticks just hanging around?? Could be a little nervous at Essendrug tonight.... Old wounds revisited....
  24. Yes. We came home strong that year. As i mentioned earlier Carlscum beat us by about 96 points i think, early rounds and i think that sparked us up. sadly Essendrug were even more sparked up. For the entire 2nd half of the season I knew Essendrug were certainties for the Flag. most depressing because we would have beaten any other team. look at Nought in ‘99. Good luck to them, but that was one soft flag. But we have to get better, not rely on others faults
  25. If he makes foolish statements, he must expect some return fire. Many a Demonlander give us Excellent training Summaries that are much appreciated, others are what they are. A late start to training as opposed to rehabilitation after surgery are two very different scenarios.
