OX personally i would have prefered to go to court for the reason that the charges are shaky. I am seething we have been fingered when i believe other clubs did the same. But if our gaming licenses and Sponsors are solid i can begrudgingly cop it. We simply have to win at all costs now. We the supporters must make sure the FD is the number one priority as far as available funds. How we are not guilty but the head coach gets 16 weeks will always be a mystery to me. But we can attend next years draft so it could have been worse. On field we will be hated by other clubs who did the same. This must make us stronger. Us v Them from today.

so you should. It's the funniest joke ever told. The English used it against the Bosch in WW2...!!! -

i don't think any sponsor would be feeling great right now.

I wonder if other clubs will get investigated in time? There is too much printed evidence out there. CC gave instructions to DB that the board didn't know about. Essendrug are in for a year of pain if the AFL has the integrity it covets so much. Winning means everything Demons.

I think i just need more of an explanation after 7 months. But yes we the supporters must ensure that our Football Department continues to grow. I also want to fully trust the MFC Board, but right now i am wavering. I hope this feeling disipates over time. Bring on Round 1 & bloody win Demons. Winning is the only remedy for this dark day. I have even had Collingwood mates ring me this afternoon telling me we got shafted. Vlad you have lost me....

What was the charge?? Feel very disillussioned right now. No mention of Dean Bailey? Dam club rolled over..
-
and for that matter how will the MCC view a guilty verdict if it is handed down? This is why i cannot support a rollover. We are in a fight right now & must keep going if today is not in our favour.
-
I think we would have to fight WITH Dean if he chooses. If he wins the AFL Commission will look very stupid. Dean was employed by us at the time. We have to back him.
-
it sticks out like dogs b...s to me. The fine can be sorted. Supporters will wipe that. Even we at Demonland can get some fundraising happening but those licences are the lynch pin.
-
What i cannot work out is...If Bailey is suspended from the game who was our head coach, this implicates he was part of match fixing. This must jepordize our gaming licences at the two club venues. If anybody can assure me those licences are going to be ok i will feel a lot easier. Otherwise we just have to fight this....

Flash can play this year. Long as he earns it. I have seen this club also carry far too many players. The Club comes first.
-
we need to climb the ladder Stuie as a club. Flash is obviously a top bloke, but if he is no longer up to it on the park that means we are a man down. I am suprised he made the cut in 2013.
-
that's my reading of the whole saga. A guilty verdict of any sort that is related to Match Fixing will put a knife through this club. How bad the wound is still to be decided. But it was this board who made decisions back in 2007-9 that have got us to this point. So i expect the same board to fight like hell to sort it ALL out, even if it takes a year or 2. Short term pain for a club now in its 155th year.
-
spot on. Keep fighting MFC this is a kangaroo court to save face for the AFL so far. Look after ourselves first.
-
Is there a difference between Tanking & blatant Tanking? I say no. We either did it or did not. I have always been concerned at being fingered over 2008-09 but what i will not accept is the flimsy charges thrown at us. They are worth fighting against. Carlton's Tank in 2007 was far more blatant, but the AFL are not prepared to smash them a 2nd time. It's that cynical.
-
mate those hollow charges would not hold up in court. So i say we go to court. I do agree the hard work begins or i hope has already done so. But if we do not fight these charges further all the hard work will be wasted as i can't see sponsors wanting to associate with "the Match Fixers" So it is my opinion the fight has just begun.
-
mate if we roll over to those hollow charges we are dead. That is a victim. The fight is not over. Or should not be. You are free to wave your white flag.
-
Patrick Smith said this morning that we should all apologize to Wilson because she has been leading this story. I laughed out loud. If the MFC go down nobody out there will blink. We are on our own.
-
Yes. We must get stronger and wiser from all this, wherever it finishes. I do not think the MFC have even started yet. Sure hope not anyway. The Club must let off some steam. We have been under attack since June 2012. Relentlessly.

that would be an excellent opening question in a courtroom. Start proceedings on our terms.........
