    PSD

The PSD (Dec 16th) can't come quick enough for some people. It seems the all the focus is off the ND (Nov 29th) which is held more than 2 weeks before the PSD. I'm sure the club has a couple of 'smoky's' up their sleeve. If anyone can pick it, good luck to them...where's Nudge and Dee tention? I'm sure they will have 76 stabs at it each.
  5. The mystery player continues........ I'll say it is "Jamar" on Sylvia's left stretching, and Moloney is on Sylvia's right, talking to Davey. B)
  6. Correct.
  7. Apparently flying! <_<
  8. Just about sums it up.
  9. I know its not "recent", but Chris Grant. B)
  10. 70.48% D.E. for 2008. Its actually below the AFL average 74%. Thought it would be better than the average. edit: source afl.com.au (champion data)
  11. CARLTON PULLS OUT OF RACE FOR O'KEEFE
  12. Geez....compelling arguments One of the reasons he was drafted at No.1 was for his sublime kicking and delivery as well as his poise. Anyway, back on O'Keefe.....
  13. For the love of the club Shaft. For the love of the club. For the survival - I might add.
  14. Yes, I was going to bring Geelong up too. However, they do play there. It's a job for the boys, they are priveleged to be a part of the AFL. I'm sure at each Victorian club, they have a number of players within their club who travel 50-60 mins to train.
  15. Wasn't Desy Headland No.1 - 2001. edit: - 45hg...thanks...you got me...but wasnt it 2001?
  16. I'll attend this if selected by the mfc. I sent through my expressions of interest, and I hope to hear back. If anyone isn't attending this or can't attend this, yet has some good ideas that they think will be of benefit or will help the club. You can either email the club your thoughts or if you need someone to express your views to the club, I'd be happy to pass those ideas on, that is if I get to be one of the 'selected supporters'.....so you can either post your thoughts in this thread or PM me if you wish...I'd be happy to do it. Go Dees!
  17. Received by email the following from Jimmy, which some of you may have received. I'd say this summit may provide some answers to Jimmy's blueprint... I would like to make you aware of a very important day coming up for our Club on Sunday 16 November. When I was made President, I was overwhelmed by the number of people who wanted to help. Many of you came to me with ideas of ways in which we could make the Melbourne Football Club better, particularly in relation to our business performance. I would now like to bring all of those people together on one day who have ideas to improve our Club heading into the future. This day will be known as 'Demon Summit 2008'. I would like to gather the best ideas from amongst all those who have expressed their eagerness to help our Club. I will be inviting a selection of MELBOURNEfc supporters to join us for a day of discussion and ideas. Club Directors, staff, key stakeholders and industry leaders will also be in attendance, in order to help facilitate discussion. On the day, we will be dividing attendees into topic areas. Each group will have a facilitator, whose goal will be to draw the best ideas out of each group where their particular topic is concerned. I want to ensure that our whole Club is represented on this day. In order to achieve representation of a cross-section of our supporters, we are today seeking expressions of interest from those who would like to be involved in this day. If you have an idea that you think can assist our Club to achieve our goals, then please complete the 'expression of interest form' by clicking here. The event will be held at a Melbourne location (TBC) on Saturday 16 November, and will run from approximately 8.30 am until 2 pm. There will be no cost to attend this event. Go Dees,
  18. Further to that Demon Jim, seeing that the Tasmanian Government is behind the Hawks. How about the Vic Government getting behind Melbourne in some way. How about the "Go For Your Life" - part of the Health & Education portfolio of the Victorian Government. Melbourne could help promote that. More importantly the Government could show some initiative to increase that campaigns awareness through the use of the Melbourne Football Club. Got to think outside the square.
  19. The amount of times Murphy hits Fev lace out for a start. His kick for goal on the run, another. But I guess we will just have to agree to disagree ... there's no delusion on my part. As I stated before it IMO. I will also point out again that you may have an argument for Maric. He has very good foot skills from what I've seen, we are yet to see the best of Maric.
  20. Yes, a thread I started regarding O'Keefe in the Trading forum contains many of these arguments for O'Keefe, after I asked whether is he worth pursuing in the PSD: - HERE
  21. No doubt reminiscing about Carroll's performance on Mad Monday
  22. ......couldn't hit the side of a barn perhaps.
  23. I understood the question. As my bold responses indicate. With respect to O'Keefe & Cousins, I don't think they will be considered for the PSD, IMO. Besides their age counts against what Melbourne are planning for. O'Keefe would be a handy acquisition for 3-4 years, maybe 5 years. But, he comes at a hefty price of $500-$600K per year. I just think its the wrong time to go after such a player in the position we are in. We've got to go through the draft and improve our players from within.
  24. Freak when you say something is wrong, it's actually right more often than not. As it is in this case. Maric - you may have an argument, but Murphy is a better kick of the footy than those you mention IMO.. That's an unbiased view. Take your rose coloured glasses off next time.
  25. I would like to see mfc build their own side, preferably building through draft picks and youth & development. Of course I want improvement from the side next year, I want them to be competitive. With the return of injured players to the line-up, an early start to pre-season and new sponsors, new board, new president, new CEO, new direction and better cohesion on-field through better planning and more game time for our younger players, I'd expect nothing less than a significant improvement. Whether or not that correlates to a certain amount of wins remains to be seen. Of course I wouldn't mind some fantastic picks in next years draft, however I don't want to see a deja' vu '08 season next year either.
