  1. Establishing players before you cement a game plan is not a bad idea. By the time we're Premiership ready it'll be 2013 - 2014. It's at that time that we need a super well drilled team and game plan. Not to mention the current Forward Press will be obsolete by 2013. I guess the art is getting the players ready before you have a plan. Maybe Bailey is the Messiah, watching so far I'm not convinced but I can be.
  2. That's actually a lot of people who wouldn't leave the MCG, their friends and family and a club with a good list to go and live and play in Shitsville no matter what short term financial benefit was offered. If Scully's career goes as expected he'll make more staying in Melbourne over the long term than moving to Shitsville.
  3. Dunn as sub.
  4. Probably a tad harsh, I'll retract that but you get but you get the drift
  5. The only way Strauss will be on fire at the moment is if we put him in the next add so he can have a burning tale and horns
  6. I'd say he is!
  7. It makes me grumpy too, as do supporters who think he's tough. One word. CASEY. There I go again using capitals!
  8. Dermot Brereton anyone?
  9. A couple of years ago I was in the Dunn camp. I defended the slirs and told those who listened that he would make it. last year, while convincing many that he would only convinced me that he wouldn't. His attack on the ball is not nearly strong enough for a player in his position. His supposed toughness is all good when it's jumper punching and words but when it comes to putting his body between himself and pain, well, it just doesn't happen. Compare this to his obvious replacement in Petterd and it's chalk and cheese. Both players possess similar talent but when it come to eyes on the ball and only the ball then I'll take Petterd every day of the week. he is fearless, reasonably talented with a strong mark overhead. In a team crying out for selfless acts of courage It's Petterd for mine.
  10. Of course but at the moment I'm enjoying throwing some capitals around Hell I even used an emoticom which I never do
  11. Very calmly put
  12. No one's lining up because no one's been asked. He has talent to be very, very good, maybe even, dare I say it elite. He needs alot of really good coaching to reach that level. Having someone talk to him and show him what it takes to be that player can only help the process. Dermot wasn't as talented as Watts but who would you prefer?
  13. Are you saying that a loss can't be good for a club?
  14. I'm not a bitter man and yes you can add Morton to the list. The fact remains that one of our main problems of this club is it's inherant softness, both real and perceived. All the skill in the world won't win us a Premiership if we don't add some serious toughness. Thankfully I reckon Jim Stynes is aware of this.
  15. With regard to kick ins. So the kicker is faced with 16 opposition players in the back half. Send Jamar and Green on a lead toward the boundary 55 from goal and at the same time send 6 players into the hole that seems to always be evident 35 from goal directly in front. Either kick it to Jamar and force a boundary throw in or hit one of the 6 35 out.
  16. How about we ask someone who's won a [censored] Premiership. The whole Let's ask Neita thing is [censored]. He went to water in the only grand Final he played in. We can't keep drawing rom past losers, we need to look outside to find some winners.
  17. What are the coaches for then?
  18. I made that comment in another thread Saying using Brereton as a mentor would be a waste of time is also showing no clue about football
  19. Gysberts and Tapscott will stay in regardless of Scully and McKenzie
  20. He's a 196cm and weighs 92kg, he's hardly smaller than everyone else. I advocate playing him every week. I would just like the players to kick it too him
  21. In a heartbeat. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't have a clue
  22. Yeh and if we were playing Richmond they would smash us and we'd sit around 13th on the ladder with a % of 75. Big Deal.
  23. The only stat that really matters with jack is contested marks and contested possessions and goals kicked. On all these counts he's playing for Casey reserves as the sub and only because fevola's sick.
  24. Actually I think a solid loss would be the best thing for the club at the moment. Turn the heat to full and see how the club as a whole responds in the ensuing 8 weeks.
