  1. Freo are up and about now. Can’t be long to go
  2. That was poor not going for the ball, more concerned about the player. Horne needs to come up the ground.
  3. It’s still the kick going to half forward and inside 50. We seem to not see freo players standing by themselves. Still 2 up
  4. Watching it live at the ground. We are definitely fitter and better drilled than freo. Just simple skill errors keeping them in it. Plus poor decision making with the last kick into the 50. Nice goal from 50
  5. As others have noted size has won over speed and skill int he AFLW at the moment. The dominate side have big players. (Which really contrasts to what's happening in women development teams in WA, where speed is the more important attribute) We have lost too many to trade and injury to compete with the top sides this year. We'll do okay from here on out as the first 3 were taught as we are still in the "top" division of teams, despite our changes over the summer. This year is to rebuild and adapt the game plan for the new players.
  6. Helsinki Syndrome ? :)
  7. Great game to watch as it s was nice and close. But port won't get past Sydney next week.
  8. That was a great game to watch, Jordan had a great last qtr.
  9. Cant help injures. I think most of the players wanted to go for different reason. Given how we ended last year a refresh was needed. I agree Paxy is at the tail end and should be used for specific supporting roles for the rest of the year as she doesn't have the run to compete with the younger girls anymore. Who was really missing today was Hanks, currently not having the same impact as the last few years. Normally very aggressive around the ball. Yes, Purcell is the biggest loss for the team and others aren't yet stepping up to take on her role. Reset for next week.
  10. Watch it on delay as it was 9am Perth time. Brisbane ran harder . But gee, how did umpires allow the blatant holding and dragging off the ball all day of our players. Like in the second Hore left arm was being pulled behind her when she was 5 feet from the ball trying to pick it up. Plain as day, no free, We were constantly dragged away when they didn't have the ball or when we tried to get near it. Shocking umpiring. I don't know why they umpire the completely different to the men's with the same set of rules. If it wa a men's game we would have constant free's at almost every contested ground ball.
  11. Well that was out of the blue... is Green in for the long haul or in current care taker mode.
  12. This group of port players are final checkers....the type of footy they play doesn't stand up.
  13. Best of luck to him. Wont get the opportunity he deserves at our club without an injury. He'll get a regular gig wherever he ends up.
  14. Good effort in a terrible condition down there. What is a worry is their goals were from really bad mistakes in front of goal, from poor decisions and skill execution. But game one under pressure so I'll take it. With so few games its so important to win he early ones.
  15. The type of big body mid we need.
  16. Better, Does anyone else find the cameramen skills far poorer that the normal AFL games, its like they send the trainees to these games.
  17. Not sure, maybe she asked to go?
  18. how that not in the back on miffen
  19. Daisy got her first win... but with a young side they'll have trouble running out games against the more established clubs. but a win is a win for her.
  20. Hotmail! Once upon a time I had the hotmail address of [email protected]. then forgot the password sometime over the decades.
  21. I agree, as much as people disliked Eddie, I bet he would have sat the hospital every day if Buckley was in the ICU and at his home with the family thereafter from a footy injury. She should be constantly talking to the players and find out what is happening in the club, not relying purely on what's being reported up. She doesn't need to act on everything, just know what going on.
  22. His challenge is attracting players to our club that fit within our salary cap. The majority recently have been depth players bought in as security. Whereas talent is really coming from he draft. He can only get those that out of contract or want to move. The Houston news, shows they are active in targeting players during the year to keep improving the main list, i.e. the 23 we put on the park each week. Any real we haven't been that active in since putting the team together up to 2021. With the move towards Houston ew can see they need more players to refresh our list to challenge again.
