  1. Do you think the Pies are smarter than we are?
  2. Got some Medallion tickets this week. It's always fun seeing your team smashed at Etihad, from the better seats. Can't remember the last time we won a home and away game there. BTW the Dogs are the team that gets the absolute best umpire treatment whenever we play them. Expecting more of the same.
  3. No free lunch, no hype, just confirmation that most were sick.
  4. A lot of our players were sick, so it was a great effort to outscore the Roos for 3 quarters.
  5. Just had it confirmed that many were sick.
  6. According to one poster on the Casey game, 17 Dees players were sick including Watts and the Captain.
  7. Wonder what the boys will serve up today. We have been the Kangaroos [censored] for too long now.
  8. No its because one is on our list and we don't have to go and spend big to get him. Yes Watts has infuriated me at times with his lack of effort at the hard contest, but he is in the best 3 skilled players on our list and is still developing physically. Would you swap Watts for Yarran, I wouldn't. I think Watts is a better player than Yarran. Would I take Yarran cheaply like Garlett, yes I would.
  9. My meltdown was over Gysberts instead of Daniel Talia and then Toumpas over Wines.
  10. For pick 70 or whatever it was, yes I would take a chance, as nothing to lose. They will want the world for him, probably our first pick.
  11. Don't know why you mentioned CS, when i was just adding Taylor, our recruiting officer, to the names you put down, as to who would know what is happening with recruiting. Would have thought he is the most important.
  12. Tigers' bubble burst quickly.
  13. Taylor?
  14. I hope to God I am wrong on Toumpas, but at the moment I think he is not in our best 22 and probably won't ever be. I don't care about his draft number but rather what he has shown. Hopefully we have Salem, Petracca, Kent, Frost and JT in the side next year. With the regulars and Stretch, ANB and Vandenberg and maybe Prestia where does Toumpas fit in? I think Harmes is going past him and I think Newton still has something to offer. If we trade in Prestia and maybe another mid and then draft well, his chances appear to become even slimmer. Then again as I said earlier, I hope I am wrong. It won't be the first time.
  15. Thought Henderson was committed like every other good player, to the Cats.
  16. I think I know what is wrong with Yarran, he is dumb and lazy. Yes he can do the brilliant, but then he does not do the basics, like defend and man up.
  17. I thought earlier this year that we would have only a small number of changes to the list, I now think we will have a similar amount to the last two end of seasons. Possibly gone could be McKenzie, Bail, Terlich, Michie, Riley, Jamar, Cross if he retires, Howe if traded and maybe even Toumpas and Grimes. That is ten changes if all happen. i would keep Fitzy and Spencer as backup to Gawn, even though they are often spoken about on here. I still have hopes for Fitzy to become a regular. I can see us taking less draftees and more experienced players this year as well. We have a fair bit of youth on the list ATM. Maybe Lovett with the last pick and one other player earlier. If we are interested, I think Zak Jones would be gettable, however if we get Prestia and with Viney, ANB and Nathan Jones, his type may be superfluous to our needs.
  18. Agree.
  19. It does happen to other clubs as well even the good ones. Buddy left, Motlop is being talked about, Suckling could leave, Tippett left the Crows, etc, etc.
  20. Jack is playing some good footy now and is still getting physically stronger, which hopefully gives him confidence that he won't get hurt in contests. He is in our top 3 for skills and hopefully becomes a very valuable player for us going forward.
  21. More the style of footy in those days. If you could draft Jim today, he would be a sensation.
  22. Why is that, because it was impossible to do worse?
  23. Agree. He would be a sensation today as he was big, fast and had the biggest kick on the run I can recall. His first kick in the AFL, was a goal from the wing at Waverley, on a wet ground. I thought God had come to Melbourne. Today's footy would suit him down to the ground. He was an outside receiver, who could run and carry and boot long goals. Steven Stretch would be even better than he was, in today's game as well.
