Brisbane Lions Consider Asking for Priority Picks
Redleg replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its all about the money he is offered and the length of the contract. Here is a smart way to guarantee pick 2. Lions see who he is wanting to go to and tell them to pay him more and then agree in a separate deal, to take a player on contract from that club and thereby release original club's payment to him, freeing up more to pay Leuwy. -
If we have pick 4 we are rumoured to be very interested in Darcy Parish. He is suggested to be a similar player to Prestia but bigger. Howe was rumoured to have attracted pick 7 last year. I would rather try and do a deal with that value plus maybe adding another player, than giving away our first pick. Also Prestia has had a few injuries already. What about Howe and Dawes for Prestia, especially if Dixon leaves.

I HOPE THE BOOING OF ADAM STOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is my hope. Here is my opinion for what it is worth. To simply label everyone who boos at Adam a racist, is disingenuous and blatantly wrong. To hold this view, apparently in the eyes of some, now condemns me to also being labelled a racist. This has gone completely off the rails, because of the views of fanatics, who cannot see any other view than the one they believe in. The Swans' president's statement is nothing short of outrageous, inflammatory and totally unhelpful in the situation. He could have and should have, simply called for an end to the booing as it was hurting Adam and his family, without playing the race card. Booing has always gone on in football. Carl Ditterich was booed his whole career, was that because of anti German feeljng? Dipper was booed, anti Italian? etc etc. All are booed because of how they perform on the ground, or off the ground, if it gets into the public eye. No other indigenous player is being booed. Adam was not booed for his whole career until a few things happened, he started sliding into players and hurting them, he started playing for frees, he made a stupid young girl the face of racism nationally, he became very political off the field, with what some see as divisive comments. Then a spear throwing war dance, aimed at the crowd, for which the AFL praised him. Remember that a raised finger to the crowd by most players is an automatic fine. Why is it not possible that some people now don't like him or disagree with him and show that by booing? It is certainly IMO far more likely, than he is the one player in the AFL, large sections of the crowd now want to single out in racist behaviour. All that said, I hope the booing stops and he continues to play, as that is the best thing for football and I think, for him.

Have hear about nutella filled donuts. Could they replace the banana split?
-
Just typical: NICK Riewoldt has finally succumbed to his calf issues, with the St Kilda skipper to miss Sunday’s clash against Port Adelaide. Riewoldt, as well as Jack Lonie (rested) and Sam Gilbert (groin), was ruled out on Thursday.
-
That is not the problem. 55 midfield turnovers last week prove it. The problem is we have no skill or stategy as to what comes next, when we get it in the middle. We play like stationary scarecrows, with the same amount of intelligence.

What wonderful joy will tonight's selection bring us?

I see him in brown and gold, black and gold, black and white or blue and white.

Love those with reports.

Just went on the Club Silent Auction site and noticed a bid of $36500.00 for a $250.00 Sport Shoe voucher. I suspect a mistake.
-
I was also told today that she didn't call him an ape, but rather a black c..., charming. Also that Eddie toned it down to "ape" and tried to lessen the insult and the damage. The AFL also tried to lessen it, especially as it came from a young girl.

So [censored] of with our game I haven't even craved a banana.

I think that is absolutely crazy. This guy was AA a few weeks ago, so we know he can play. And Oscar says hello . -
It would be if we do, which I now think we won't, not only for us, but also for what it would do to the Pies' season.
-
And just when you thought we couldn't get any worse...
Redleg replied to Giles's topic in Melbourne Demons
And that comes from a lack of skill and poor decision making, which we have been banging on about for years. -
We had 77 more hand balls and they had 44 more kicks. Those 77 handballs ultimately led to turnovers and those 44 kicks got the ball forward quickly, giving the Saints forwards a chance to be one out, or alone and then goal.
-
What do you mean 20-35m, we can't handball 3 metres. We are the worst skilled side in the AFL bar none. With average skills we would have at least 4 more wins this year.
-
Certainly had a poor year. Seems to have now awareness and is slow to move and to get rid of the ball, then often takes the worst option. He was better than that last year.
-
Old Dee you finally got me, I give up.
-
I have said this so many times, but until we get players who can dispose of ball correctly, by hand and foot, we will be a bottom team. We are losing this game because of atrocious disposal, including kicking for goal, poor tackling that still allows the ball to be disposed of and a lack of running to make position.

Any chance of a score?
