Carlton have played well early in games and then tire and fade late. This happened again on Sunday. They had the effort though, where was ours. Our comeback could have been on the back of Carlton fading rather than our improved effort. No matter who we recruited and who was out injured, why has the Coaching staff been unable to get effort when the game is on the line? 23 goals to 3 in last 3 games in the first quarter. IMO that is indefensible. Any arguments about playing finals sides evaporates when you look at last week. Something is wrong somewhere.

You are right C and B. The real problem however is in us picking duds. Not only that, but picking duds with very high picks. It is not that we didn't take Joe Blow, who became a champion, but rather having most of the draft to select from we chose duds.

I don't think there is any doubt we have improved. The trouble is so have the other teams. They all improve each year with better personnel, better training, better development etc. What we need to do is improve to a point where we are competitive in every game and win more of them. We also need to improve our attitude and effort, so that every game gets our best or close to it. ATM we don't seem to be able to eliminate poor starts, a poor attitude and poor effort in some games. We also need desperately to improve our skills, as turnovers kill us and we are probably the worst in the AFL in this area. Some more pace would also not go astray. As for the Carlton game, we were pathetic.

I don't think we should do what the media does and misrepresent the facts. Roos said that the club has a veil of negativity around it. Also that many supporters were negative in emails to him. He never blamed supporters for the performances. He agreed the last few weeks and especially sunday were terrible and unacceptable. He said the football department needed to fix these inconsistent performances and that they were trying to.
