Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination
Redleg replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hunt, like most young footballers, probably wouldn't give a stuff. He would be just thrilled, that he has got games, played well and is being loved by the Dees fans, as well as being noticed by the more astute footy people in the AFL. I don't include the Rising Star judges in that last category. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD

Just enough to make him feel unwanted and financially disadvantaged. -
2 year contract is just too much to pay out. It could be $1.2 -$1.4 m.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Redleg replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
My mail is after Hurley, Hooker etc and Watson to come, the Bombers had to offload someone and Hibberd is the one. We made an offer to him and Bombers declined to even match it, in either years or amount. That is why there is such love between the parties. This is a unanimous deal, with ex club and player happy. -
What a surprise.

Our 2nd round pick. -
I don't think Brendan will be offered a senior coach role again. There were some rumblings from the players at the time and other clubs, through player managers, are aware of these things.

Max the lone ruckman. Boomer stiff.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Redleg replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Couldn't understand why we didn't look at Zac Smith. Spencer is a good stop gap, especially as he is apparently happy to play at Casey, while Max dominates in the Seniors. It would be great if the two Kings can kick on. Then we wouldn't need to look any further. -

Any ideas on who? -

ATM, we look like having 4 new faces in the side that lost to the Cats. Oliver, Melksham, Hibberd and Kent. That is 20% of the side for starters. A couple of good trades, a good pre season for say Hulett, JKH, BenKen, Wagner and Mitch or Max King, or a good draft pick, could add to that. -
I would say there is absolutely no chance he will coach again next season. After that, who knows.

Concede, I will amend "completely" to "severely reduced." I don't think a shin injury, makes you handball to the back of bloke's heads, or try and run the field, unaware of opponents nearby. It may however, hamper the accuracy of your kicking. I hope Vince's loss of form was due to the injury, as if not, he may have hit the wall.
-
Agree. But shin injury shouldn't affect your awareness. He lost that completely.

Rohan Connolly shames pathetic Dee's and Tiges
Redleg replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder at the comment we didn't try. We had 40 less disposals than the Cats and were better in some categories. Where we lost badly was in ball use. We were also as a result, down in inside 50's. Our ball use was disgusting. That led to countless clangers and turnovers and easy Cats goals. You don't get the ball without trying. We got the ball and butchered it. What would have happened if our ball use was at say 75-80%, a closer game. Then we wouldn't all be so upset. We desperately need to fix up our ball use. It is our biggest problem. -
My arse is fine. But realistically, we have 1 leader, the Captain. We don't have others, because of the amount of youngsters we are playing and the fact that the possible leaders aren't getting a game. It is something that will take time to rectify.
-
The Cats already have a home ground advantage, 8 wins a year at Skilled.
-
Every result I wanted went the other way. Typical. And a Melbourne discard wins the last one.
-
No Geelong at Geelong. We have been the bunnies for long enough.
-
The Brisbane Lions are idiots. A couple of goals less and they have Pick 1 and PSD 1 to use on a rebuild. Just plain dumb.
-
I have no doubt even the AFL hierarchy would agree. Stupid, stupid and just plain dumb.
-
How about in a Bombers jumper and for free.
-
And it is an injustice. So bloody predictable. They enjoy a win in the last round. get their players back and pick 1 and the PSD pick 1. Hope no good player wants to go to them.
-
I want Saints to smash Lions to stop Bombers getting first pick and PSD, especially as Woosha just said he wants O'Meara. Getting him for free would be sickening. Membrey marks 15 out, with Saints firing and Nick gives a way a free, reversal and Lions go to other end and goal. Would have ended up quarter 5 goals up and well on way. Come on Saints, smash them.

Would have made no difference. Again our disposal was putrid. Jake wouldn't have solved that problem. To me, disposal under pressure is our biggest problem. Let me rephrase that, DISPOSAL , IS OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM, PRESSURE OR NO PRESSURE.
