I know it is not fair to knock Max after his last few years, but just looking at the Cats game it was not his best, which didn’t help us. Also as to leadership or quick thinking, which we don’t have a lot of, why didn’t Max just spit out the blood in his mouth or call the trainer on and rinse and then close his mouth. As the guys on the Couch said, you don’t go off for that in the last minute when you are 2 points up. It also appeared like Tom Mac alerted the umpire. Even if the umpire says blood rule you just wipe it away or close your mouth or call the trainer to rinse. The rule is flowing blood. It was in his mouth not flowing. Just dumb with disastrous consequences. WTF is in their heads, it clearly isn’t smarts like Dangercheat.
  2. I wonder what happened with our meeting with the umpiring bosses?
  3. Name the only kick in football named after a fruit. It has been a long association with our favourite fruit and footy.

Yes but he is in it and available free. If you got Gaff and Wallis, you would be gaining better players and with experience, to help our young midfield.

He can handball and kick to a team mate for starters. He can make a decision within 2 minutes and not get caught holding the ball. He can kick a goal, 3 recently in a game. He can take a contested mark. He is a better player than Tyson.
  6. Your view is shared by some of the Coaches.
  7. Well we found another way to inflict pain on ourselves.

    Wallis has skill Tyson doesn’t.
  9. Brayshaw labelled the free as coming from an under 12’s footy game and basically said it was ridiculous. Luke Darcy and whole Talking Footy Panel ageeed it was a disgraceful rule and a blight on the game. The 50 m and goal against Harmes was as bad. Might have cost us finals and certainly the double chance.

Not sure the club sees that as a priority. Oscar, Frost, Lever next year, Petty after a second pre season and Keilty is a fair bunch. Tim Smith can also go back and Joel Smith though a bit shorter can also pinch hit. Assuming Pedo has retired and if not he is another who can pinch hit. Who would you be looking at?

I think we should be targeting Mitch Wallis, who is a year older and on the outer at the Dogs apparently and will come a lot cheaper. If you can get both great.
  12. Maybe that is part of the problem if it comes to pass. How do you bloody get in when the Cats have more members than seats.

Nic Nat I think is only contracted until end of 2019. His next contract will be well south of $1m per year and he will accept it, as he has been heavily paid while injured. WC have been good to him and he will repay them with a reduced contract.
  14. Would there still be umpires?
  15. Pity. I was hoping the Port game would be our turning point.
  16. We are apparently querying the Danger free and I hope we query a few others as well, but in reality the best we will get on some of the decisions is, “yes sorry we made a mistake”. A fat lot of good that will do us. I agree though the umpires have cost us 3 games with multiple mistakes mainly resulting in goals to the opposition and goals denied to us. If the Scotts coached us, their heads would have exploded on TV.
  17. Well the Coach disagrees with you, even though you think his suggestion is ridiculous. He mentioned the couple of chances we had to take the ball oob and Jeffy was clearly one of them in the last minute or so. I am not saying I disagree with you.
  18. And that is it. However, dissecting the last 2 minutes also ignores the errors earlier, that lead you to that point. For example, if Tom Mac, our best set shot, iced his 20 metre shot straight in front, we are 5 points more ahead when the siren goes.
  19. After watching the game again, I noticed another thing that helped cause our loss, weak leadership. Look who stood up for the Cats, Danger, Ablett, Hawkins and Selwood. When the game needed to be won they stood up and led. With us, who of our leaders stood up? Who led the way? Who directed the others? Who took the mark or laid the tackle or made the hard gut run to set the example and/ or create the game winning/ saving piece of the play? I think our leaders were merely observers. We lack quality leadership.
  20. Keep posting Kevin, people are just extra upset, in fact gutted, as many have said, over what we see as inevitable failure after supreme efforts by the team in adverse circumstances. Murphy’s Law flourishes at the MFC, where something often happens and seemingly only to us, to cause major disappointment.
  21. We clearly have the bad kind.
  22. I would have thought all forwards bar perhaps Spargo, would have gone back in the last minute or two, with the mids being told to keep the ball locked in the pack. Surely after so many close losses in the last two years, this should have been ingrained. Obviously not.
  23. Another little stat. In this game a 50 against us which commentators agreed was wrong cost a goal and we lose by 2 points. Against Saints 3x 50’s and 3 goals and 2 point loss and Port a few more cost goals and 10 point loss and none to us in all 3 games. How does that happen?
  24. Agree not to rush him in, but he has had 48 disposals and 31 tackles, some bone hurting, in 2 VFL games . That will appeal to the selectors eventually. Also he is 188cms and can play mid or forward and can take a mark and kick a long goal. A few attributes we could use.
  25. That’s fine but he staged. He put his arms out before the contact that he initiated. He staged. End of story. It will be the end because nothing will happen.
