  1. No one is justifying drunk driving, you are simply not understanding what different offences are and have glibly said that the people who were trying to explain it to you are justifying drunk driving. As they say you can lead a horse to water.
  2. Actually you are confusing 2 separate offences. It is an offence to drive a car drunk, even if your driving is ok. It is also an offence to run someone down. It is a worse offence if you run someone down, while drunk. Those laws are well known before you get in a car. You don't know the law when you tackle, because the law changes depending on who you are, what club you play for and to a degree what if any injury the tackled player receives. Then again if you play for Melbourne, you can be suspended for not making contact with a player, if that player thinks you might and hurts himself slightly trying to avoid you. ( Brent Moloney got weeks for missing Bartel ). That has never happened before or since. We did nothing about it. Just like you probably won't re ANB. IMO a statement is needed from our Footy Manager on the harsh treatment of our player for identical tackles which receive no penalty at all. After all he was effectively given 25% of this season for a tackle that others are completely getting off.
  3. Well well. Cats and Port players let off by the Tribunal for the very same action as ANB, with only one difference, the victim wasn’t concussed. If the AFL represented society, you could get off for attempting to shoot someone if you missed, but be found guilty of assault, if you slipped in the street and fell on someone, causing them to fall over and cut their hand in a minor injury. We have now had 2 blokes ( ANB and Jack Trengove)done for 4 weeks in sling tackles where other blokes for the same action get off. If I wasn’t a 68 year old grandfather and lawyer, I would simply say to the AFL, GAGF. To be honest I think Josh Mahoney should come out and slam the AFL for the total hypocrisy and corrupt way in which it has dealt with ANB and bugger the consequences. Stand up for our player and club, this is an unmitigated disgrace.
  4. We have another one. Your medical degree was from where?
  5. There are just morons and dickhe-ds out there and it is impossible to get them all to act like human beings. Now some more morons want to march in Melbourne because they think the Virus is a scam. I wonder I how the relatives of the people who have died or are very sick from the virus feel. On top of it all they will risk infecting more people if they march. I would get the water hoses out and then throw them in jail wet.
  6. If true that is very concerning and possibly explains a lot of things.
  7. Interesting point, as several teams have their Coach, or an Assistant on the bench, able to talk to players immediately they rotate to the bench. I haven’t noticed Goodwin or any Assistant at the bench for us, but I stand to be corrected if I am wrong.
  8. Possibly!
  9. Not a stupid idea, as it probably only would be used for assisting veterans get to a milestone, or giving guys on the fringe a last chance at impressing the FD.
  10. Luke Dahlhaus just got a week for the identical tackle that ANB got 4 weeks for, with one exception, the victim wasn’t concussed. That is pathetic, in that penalty is now decided not by intent, or legality of action, but on any injury that occurs. Punch a bloke in the face, which is an illegal act, but if victim not injured, result is a fine or 1 week. This is ridiculous. AFL now more concerned with staging.
  11. Yes he has talent.

  13. Yes we kicked well for goal against an injury ravaged team coming off a short break, who just couldn't apply any pressure. How did you like our ball use against Port or the Dogs? When the pressure is on, our disposal becomes bog ordinary. You have picked kicking for goal as the marker for ball use, in the one game where we hardly missed, because of a total absence of pressure from the opposition. Our field kicking and handball is generally poor and nearly every Dees fan I believe, would acknowledge that. Our best player went at 31% disposal efficiency against the Dogs. Sums it up I would think.
  14. We let him go because he became a big problem. Freo have discovered that he is still a problem. Don't we have enough problems?
  15. To be honest, I couldn't care less who plays, as long as they give 100% effort, all game and we take our chances and use the ball reasonably well. I didn't ask for perfect ball use, as we are incapable of even very good use.
  16. “If the players don’t bring it.”

This is so sad and unfair. We live in a world that can be wonderful and rotten, to the people who inhabit it. I just have no more words at the moment.
  18. You don’t have to have an agenda to see that Goodwin was completely out coached today. However despite that, if we kicked properly, both at goal and in play, we would have won. We gave them most of their goals, 5 out of 6 in the 3rd were turnovers.. Agree May was great. Pity none of our mids were. But still Goody coached poorly as all the commentators noted. I know Jones was a late out but we needed pace and could have brought in Hunt or even Bedford. I would just once like to see Goodwin do something in a game that changes it.
  19. You know what Jaded, the guy has lost me. He actually seems to have no idea of tactics and that you play differently depending on your opponents. To allow Preuss to just tap the ball down, when they are killing us at the clearance, is the height of stupidity. He was against a flanker a lot of the time and they won the clearances and then spread. Put Oliver or Petracca at CHF and smash it to them and you create a contest without Libba, MacRae, Bont, Hunter, Smith etc and you are closer to goal with one of your best players one out. Dogs are the best side at scoring from defence, so you don’t bomb it in. Guess what we did. I never see tactics. Why wasn’t Harmes on Bont.? We are so predictable and have no game tactics at all. I can’t see any real success with this Coach.
  20. You wouldn’t if you had a Coach. Beveridge sh-t all over Goody today.
  21. Why did he let go of English who then passed for a goal, unbelievable.
  22. Signs are bad when disposal and tackling are off. They spread effectively from the clearance and we can’t. Fix those things and we are ok.
  23. Probably best Dogs team this year. It will be very tough.
