Can he kick?

We've all become so obsessed with the financial aspects of the draw.
Heaven forbid we actually win any games.
-
When we win a premiship!
That's what it all comes down to fellas

Melbourne's ultimate draft
#1: Watts
#17: Hill
#19: Shoenmakers
#35: Roughead
#51: Dayne Beams (love this kid)
-
Should send it in to one of the major papers, they might publish it. Fantastic piece of writing.
-
Lee Harvey? From the Book Depository building?
That's a good endorsement.
Honestly I can't speak highly of him enough.
Wonder if we might take a punt on Hislop now?
Oswald could be very influential on him.

Here's Gillon McLachan's take on our draw:
"They’ve got a good footy draw. What they do have is a lot of Sundays.
http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tab...px?newsId=69209
What use is a good footy draw when you aren't a hope of making the finals?
-
the more and more I read this and the fact that the Herald Sun withdrew the link, the more i think it is a fabrication
-
hmm the link doesn't work now. perhaps some hack journo at the herald sun jumped the gun a little too early.
-
I've now had time to go through it. We've been royally fcuked over.
Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, and West Coast all home at the G.
And the AFL doesn't compensate us for the inequality of the draw. Maybe the AFL sees this as there last chance to kick us out.

Wayne Oswald is a fantastic bloke. He previously had a role down at the Sandringham Dragons U18s as the head manager or something and from my personal expierence was a really, really friendly and well rounded bloke. Dresses like a bit of a metro which is odd(funny) considering his age, be round 50 but he is just fantastic. He communicates really well with younger kids and is the type of bloke if you were at a footy club you'd want to impress. I think this is a really great appointment.

lol were no chance

This is why we only need to win four games next year.

Pretty simple really, win four games in 2009 and enjoy the benefits for the next 15 years.
-
i dont want any of them
youth youth youth
besides white and lonie there all under the age of 21.
i'd take Bentley for free in the PSD and rookie Williams
-
Greg Bentley has apparently been delisted
-
Not really a question more of a plea...... please for the love of god do not make Cameron Bruce captain next year.
And it would be interesting to ask them what their voting criteria was based on for season 2008 in response to Bruce debarcle.
-
I'd rather pass on pick 1 than pick up this hack.
He makes Cameron Bruce look like Glenn Archer
-
Well given that poster is both Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde, each of them is entitled to his opinion. One of them must have double posted, though. But then Big Neita had to come along and draw attention to his/their schizophrenia. Nice going! Now you've probably gone and made him/them/it upset.
haha.
but seriously there was a reason Kangars was delisted and lasted till halfway through the rookie draft last year, he's no good.
-
I don't think its any order. Blease is an awesome player but there is no way he'll go top 5.
-
While Kangars has atheltic abillity - his kicking is downright awfull (or was back in his under 18 days).
-
Geez....compelling arguments
One of the reasons he was drafted at No.1 was for his sublime kicking and delivery as well as his poise.
Anyway, back on O'Keefe.....
I'd love to see his disposal efficiency from 2008.
Don't get me wrong I'd kill to have Murphy however I believe his kicking is average at best .
-
Murphy is a [censored] kick. Carlton should have taken Ellis at #1.
Are you satisfied with Bailey at the moment?

The performance of the club in rd 22 still lingers in the back of my head.
We lost by 80 points that day to RICHMOND . Do people know how utterly disgraceful that effort was? The boys looked completely disinterested. Clearly they were more interested in what was to follow that night, but surely Bailey would have been able to recognise this and correctly nullify it.
Tatically I find it annoying how he is so quick to chuck a spare man in defense. Were a young side with no KKP forward line player and we don't have the skill going forward to hit up targets. Were going to get thrashed anyway why not lets our kids play one on one footy and at least give them a chance to score when we go forward. It's clear that we get as much as the ball as the opposition teams do (breaking well over 400 possesions each match) but simply were always kicking the ball to our oppositions spare man i.e. Andrew Mackie V Geelong.
I like the fact that Bailey is completely dedicated to implementing a gameplan that he wants unfortunately in 2008 he didn't have the cattle to execute it as such. I'll put this year down to a learning curve for him.
