Bit early to be talking about this fella's.
Let's wait till rd11.
-
This is MASSIVE if true
-
okay answer me this. how many of those kicks went over 35metres? How many of those kicks did he do while under any token pressure? How many of those kicks went inside the corridor, how many of those kicks hit a target inside 50m and how many of those kicks were low, spearing, finger breaking, high risk passes that the elite so often pull off? Disposal efficiency is the most misleading stat in the game. For the kicks that Morton was attempting, uncontested, short floaters..he shouldn't be missing ANY kicks. NOT 1!
I don't know why you single out Morton so much. Pretty much everyone in our team is a shocking kick.
-
He really has gone backwards since his first couple of seasons.
He was better as a rookie than he is now.
I'm not sure whether he's gone backwards as such but you're right his output has certainly gone down.
I hope its got more to do with the fact that a couple of years ago he had Neitz and Robertson bringing the ball to ground on every occasion the ball was delivered inside our forward 50 whereas now on most occasions he gets the #1 tag.
-
Now I know its only rd 1 and of late there has been a trend to bash players on this site however I've created this thread to discuss what should be done with Davey when things aren't going his way in the midfield. It staggers me that given a day like yesterday when he is clearly struggling with a tag through the middle of the ground why we wouldn't just let him sit underneath Brad Miller's feet deep in the forward 50. Obviously we struggle for pace throughout the guts however when a player of his calibre only manages 11 possesions for the day surely a change is needed?
Btw I think Davey is our most important player and by the time he is 28 and weere seriously challenging in September there will be no other man I will forward to watching more.

We should be used to it. All our young kids get injuries. Morton will be soon
-
Great idea. Did anyone else think there were a lot of kids there yesterday? More so that usual?

Sylvia was one of our best against the pies last year. They simply couldn't find a match up for him. He has to play
-
Sylvia didn't do anywhere near enough to earn a spot back yet. & i'm a supporter of his..
Bring him back now & we'll just set him back. He needs Now to be made to fight his way back through hard team work, don't rush it.
Sylvia needs to play. He's the only player in our team with the abillity to kick multiple goals

Pretty funny

Not doing yourself any favours with that assessment.
Why not?
Richmond's list in terms of personal might not seem that bad, but they'll never win a premiship as it is to uneven. Basically there older players are going to be gone before there younger brigade e.g. Cotchin, Delidio and co come through. Melbourne is much closer to winning a premiship than Richmond, thus they have the worse team in the league.
-
Chris Johnson is having a shocking game. Morton is killing him.
-
Wouldn't have minded Mitch Robinson at pick 35. Bennell looks a gem though.
Richmond are terrible. There list is easily the worst in the AFL. 6 key players over the age of 30 there going to have to rebuild again.
-
That's the point, he isn't. He should be, but he isn't. Maybe he should apply himself to get there.
Yes he is. The point is he has the talent to become a much better player if he applies himself. We all know this, Dean Bailey know this, his team mates know this the only person who doesn't is Colin. He has more talent in his right hand than most people on our list.
-
Sylvia is easily in our best 22 however I don't think this is such a bad thing. Clearly Bailey is putting it to Sylvia, shape up or ship out. Hopefully this hard stance will kick him into gear and finally allow himself to fulfill the potential we all know he has.

FB: Bennell Warnock Martin
HB: Cheney Frawley Garland
W:Buckley Jones Morton
HF:Davey Miller Green
FF: Wonna Bate Petterd
RR: Spencer McLean Bruce
I: Jetta, Sylvia, McDonald, Johnson

Exactly, in PJ and Spencer we have two ruckmen with a real heart for the contest.
Johnson. Really?
I know he did that run down on Sherman but he doesn't really have any agro about him. Spencer does, actually reminds me alot of Jamie Charman.
-
This is why we didn't pick up Tom Swift or Jackson Trengove.
-
Thanks very much for the updates RudeBoy. You sound like a terrific person. Go Liam!
-
Once Richo, Brown, Bowden, Simmonds and Johnson retire Richmond are going to have to do another mini rebuild. In all seriousness there list management in my opinion is the biggest joke in the AFL.
-
Would have liked Strauss to be given a go.
-
The man is all Melbourne.
Watching him play in his last game of the year Mothers Day throwing his weight around and physically itimidating the collingwood players was brilliant. We need more players with his passion and aggression.
He'll be important for us this year providing a strong body in the middle to protect our younger players.
Changes for next week

Garland on Pendlebury. Would love to see that match up
