Top of the table
So are the numbers. Consider this: 1. Number 13 wins Brownlow in same year that his teams wins their 13th Premiership. 2. Our last flag was 57 years ago in 1964. I was born in 1957 and am now 64. 3. We won 17 games this year. Jake Bowey wears #17 and looks 17 years old.

Happy Birthday Tom Wills
I was completely unaware that University wore those colours. Thanks for the learnings! It might explain why the two University teams in the Amateurs are Uni Blues and Uni Blacks.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Geelong
Ho hum, yet another regulation win. First time in our long history that we've won a game with a kick after the siren and some form of poetic justice served given how Max missed a similar match-winning chance against Geelong a couple of years ago.

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Geelong
No. There are alcohol issues as well and she's permanently legless.

Happy Birthday Tom Wills
The only thing that I find slightly odd about that terrific painting is the club jumpers depicted on Wills' blanket. It was clearly before the time of GC and GWS, but there are 17 jumpers portrayed. Port Adelaide gets two mentions with both their black/teal number plus the prison bars version. Was this an oversight or a deliberate thing, Webber?

NON MFC: Rd 23 2021
Two draws in one season for Hawthorn. Can't imagine that would happen very often.

Sacred terminology
It's not quite as innocent as it seems as it's a shortened version of the rhyming slang "dropkick and punt".
-
Sacred terminology
I wonder what Lillee, Warne, McGrath and all the other great bowlsmen would make of this.
-
Sacred terminology
It would certainly apply to Tim Broomhead.

All at sea and still combing through the wreckage seeking the answer, WCW?

Majak Daw off-the-ball incident
Surely not Ethan, or somebody would have mentioned it by now.

Majak Daw off-the-ball incident
You're the third person to pick me up on this! I acknowledged my mistake early this morning after viewing the footage which shows that my memory of the incident is faulty. You'll find my mea culpa way back on page 2 of this thread.

Training Ground?
The Fox Footy budget obviously didn't (Billy) stretch to a recent image.

Yep, it was Everitt. He was at St Kilda in those days and later played with Crawford at Hawthorn.

HATCH MATCH & DESPATCH 2021
Today's additions are Jarrod Harbrow (GC) retiring plus new contracts not offered (and probably the end of their career) to Jake Carlisle (St Kilda) and Reece Conca (Fremantle). edit: David Zaharakis (Essendon) looks goneski at well.

The 2021 Rising Star Thread

The 2021 Rising Star Thread
Quick trivia question (no Googling!!): Nathan Buckley (Brisbane) won the first Rising Star Award in 1993, but who was the first player nominated in that season - ie. the Round 1 nominee?
