MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 14
I'm comfortable with the changes because I trust our Match Committee to make the right calls, but I hope we don't regret being relatively short in the back half (compared to PA who have some decent talls to play through there). Having said that, their small / medium forwards are in excellent form and need to be covered, but I think we have a group who will match them well..

Excellent and professional all around. Just what was needed!

Changes v Port
I once heard from an old Scot, that it takes a "just a teardrop of water" to bring out the best in a good single malt. After all these years following our team OD, you've probably been shedding tears into your scotch, and thoroughly enjoying it, without even knowing quite why.

Loved the show.

Goodwin Presser 19/6
I thought Goody was more up-beat than his 'standard' mid-week presser. I know I was a tad more positive after listening to him! Maybe I'm 'clutching at straws', maybe I just need a footy recharge after the bye. Heart saying Demons (obviously!!), head undecided at this stage.

Home ground disadvantage
Yeah, but the 'G' is also the home ground for 3 of the 4 teams that have beaten us there this year.can't.

Petracca in a rut?
With his undoubted talent, Tracc has the ability to be a game breaker, but 50 games in we are still waiting. If he could consistently deliver on his potential it would be huge for our footy club, but I'm not convinced that the work-rate is there, right now. I expect that he arrived at this point in his career on talent alone, but that's not sustainable in today's game. All dessert and no dinner is not good enough.

Farewell Dean Kent
Dean Kent is a tease. He has some strong attributes as a small forward, but we only see them spasmodically. First, because his body has seems unable to hold together for sustained periods, but I also because he can be a lazy footballer, and not do the team things, especially when things aren't going his way. I recon we would need to see marked improvements in these areas for him to become a regular 'best 22' in a Goodwin coached team. I'm happy for him to look for opportunities elsewhere, but he might be looking for a long time if he sees himself as a midfielder. We'd be lucky to get a 4th rounder for him, but Jason Taylor can work some magic with late picks.

Great / topical questions guys! Great insights from Roosy! Outstanding work by all concerned!!

Post Match Discussion - Round 12
We were comprehensively beaten around the stoppages for the second week in a row, and our workrate around the ground was way, way below par today. It's a very disappointing result, but I'm prepared to regard it as an aberration, coming off the back of six very good weeks. The second half of the season will determine whether I'm close to the money, or just kidding myself.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 12
6. T.Mac 5. Oliver 4. Jones 3. Jetta 2. Fritsch 1. Viney Gee, it says a lot when I've included 3 or 4 mids in my best, but we were smashed around the stoppages all day!

GAMEDAY - Round 12
I truly believe in the current version of the Demons. This feeling of 'true belief' has been a very rare acquaintance in recent years, but it is undeniable. I'm both excited and anxious about today's game, but I'm quietly confident that we have Collingwood's measure in most areas, and especially in our 'never say die' attitude, which will get us across the line if all else fails. Dees by 6 goals.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
Lots of loves from me on this one: love for Danners the man, and and his attitude in adversity; love for the way our footy club has embraced Danners, and the MND program; love for the inspiration that Danners continues to give to the football community in general and our club in particular. Let's just do it!

Great interview. Filled me with confidence ...... not that it needed a boost right now.

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 12
Driving down from Canberra on Saturday. I'm already feeling a bit 'edgy', partly because of what's at stake, and partly from sheer excitement of the occasion that is QB at the 'G'. A lot of the media talk has been about how evenly the teams are matched, but while I can see some of that, I find it difficult to see how C'wood can contain our forward set-up for four quarters. I reckon our flexibility, running power, avenues to goal and the TMac / Hogan factor will be too much for them in the end. I'm quietly confident that I'll have a broad smile on my face, together with a certain smugness that only comes with beating C'wood, as I head north along the Hume on Tuesday. Dees by 5 goals.

Contract Talks Start with Nev Jetta
In my eyes Neville is a modern-day hero of the MFC, in some ways cast from a similar mould to Nathan Jones. Both wear our colours with pride. I can't see that changing!

11 Down, 11 To Go
Where we finish has a great deal to do with self (team) belief, and steely resolve. We have shown an abundance of these qualities in the last 6 weeks, and if they remain intact, we finish top 4.
