  1. We thrive on the big stage, and have timed our run into September perfectly. Two or three goals up at the half, a third quarter blitz led by our mids, and then cruise control to keep them at arms length in the last. Dees by 8 goals.
  2. Unbelievable game. Sincere thanks Bris!
  3. Looking forward to the double!
  4. Great lineup, a winning team (imo)!
  5. Gee I hope the media whispers are correct. It would be a huge fillip for our team if the big โ€˜Spanielโ€™ announced an extension during the finals series.
  6. I understand where you are coming from Red. Joel is unlikely to be a 'game changer', but that's not his role as medi sub. I just think he has the attributes / flexibility to adequately slot-in in a variety of positions around the ground, and to do so without the need to make significant 'in-game' changes to team structures.
  7. Well we know weโ€™ve hit a โ€˜sweet spotโ€™ at the right time, when recent discussion in the Changes thread is focused primarily on who will be our medi sub. For what itโ€™s worth, I think Joel Smithโ€™s versatility gives him the edge over other candidates.
  8. I found the Ian Munro interview with @Whispering_Jackand @Demonland totally absorbing, and a real โ€˜eye openerโ€™. I reckon โ€˜Between the Flagsโ€ is a must read, especially for Demonlanders of my vintage, who lived through our โ€˜golden eraโ€™ of the1950s and 1960s, and stuck fat with our beloved Demons through the (seemingly) interminable 57 year drought. Hey Mrs Deeoldfart, I now know what I want for Fathers Day.
  9. Thanks for another top notch pod guys. Consensus amongst the panel that we will win the QF. I like that!
  10. Q. Assuming Salo is fit, can we fit both him and Bowser into the team? They both add value with their ball use.
  11. I was impressed by Caseyโ€™s game plan, and in particular their โ€˜teamโ€™ defence, which to my eye, is clearly modelled on the way our AFL team seeks to play. Transition of players into the senior team should be relatively seamless in terms of their understanding of what needs to be done in the heat of battle, and when.
  12. โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ and West!
  13. Outstanding season opener, away from home and against the reigning champs. Loved the tackling pressure, handball to advantage and composure of our defence. Fantastic stuff!
  14. Seems to have footy โ€˜smartsโ€™, a strong work ethic, good agility for a tall kid, good hands and a long kick. Very happy if we can work our way up the draft and nab him.
  15. Great work again guys. Thank you for the time, effort and love for the MFC, that is obvious in every episode.
  16. Kossi a bit stiff I reckon, but there are a few decent small forwards around at the moment, and the selectors would only be looking at goals kicked and not the less obvious stuff.
  17. This is the first time I can recall a Pod thread running โ€˜hotโ€™ to the point of boiling. We are obviously on the threshold of another finals campaign, but it also speaks volumes about the work of @demonlad, @george_on_the_outerand @binman. Really looking forward to tonightโ€™s episode.
  18. You stole my thunder rpfc. MFCSS tells me that the ease with which we were able to win said more about Brisbaneโ€™s ineptitude than our brilliance, but obviously, I hope Iโ€™m wrong. However, wherever the โ€˜balanceโ€™ lies, a win like that must be a huge fillip for our confidence going into finals.
  19. We can beat anyone, anywhere! โค๏ธ ๐Ÿชข ๐Ÿ’™
  20. Tugs at my heartstrings. We are so blessed to have the best leader in the game!
  21. Agree JVR was good for a half, and our best KPF by a long way. Weid, M.Brown and J.Smith should have shown a lot more today, just to stake a claim as 'next cab off the rank' should they be needed. Weid probably holds pole position for that role right now, but gee .........
  22. Agree ......... our AFL team is probably close to settled right now (barring injury). I thought JVR was good for a half (leaving the other potential KPFs in his wake). JJ looked quite proppy to me.
  23. Fair point, but there's still a sub role potentially up for grabs, as well as possible injury replacements (heaven forbid).
  24. Very disappointing. Casey looked lethargic, some of them completely disinterested at times. Nobody put a hand up for a senior gig imo, and that includes several who had a real opportunity to stake a claim.
  25. An incredibly even team performance, so there will be plenty of unlucky players who miss out. This is my crack at it: 6. Petracca 5. Lever 4. Oliver 3. Pickett 2. Jackson 1. Rivers Then, the next batch: Hibberd, Brayshaw, Hunt, May, etc(a new recruit)
