  1. Hi, not a thread per se, but does anyone have any special contacts within the club that we can talk to re positive Demonlanders ideas / concepts. I have put the tram and the march to the G to "corporate" and "events" respectively. I suspect these emails are already safely ensconsed in the deleted items bin already Another idea...would like to see the Red & Blue Army T-shirt up and ready to go...mock up below. Obviously this one has to be done by the club, so I need to talk to a motivated responsive individual within the MFC So please let me know if you have a good contact name.
  2. Club Sponsorship opportunity for Silver Top Taxi's ? B)
  3. Steady on Hard's...I wouldnt suspend him from playing...big difference between between Chook speeding in a 100 kph zone and Aka turning up to training three sheets to the wind. And as for speeding in Australia...quite happy for blanket 50 kph throughout suburban streets...but the 100 kph limit on an open freeway is an unfunny joke. The brain switches off at such slow speeds, excess speed is a contributing factor to crashes, bad driving practices explains a hell of a lot more! I spent 10 years in Europe and I can tell you I feel much safer with an alert driver going 140 kph then some dope plodding along at 100 whilst playing with their mobile phone / radio / cup-holder.
  4. Valid points...and if preg testing cattle back on the farm taught me anything...if you put your hand up then you've gotta expect some S$@&
  5. I was surprised how upbeat the article was considering the pre-season form. Our best 22 is pretty good, but not yet premiership material...the KPP set up isn't right yet, and we need a tad more zip in the midfield.
  6. Horrified to hear Brocky attended a Lionel Ritchie concert. RR's right about the true barometer...Chook is a natural onfield leader, although I do recommend that he be suspended from all "milk monitor" duties until further notice.
  7. Ddrake this is deesasterous news. Reading between the lines it could be that the club admin is totally Deemoralised. Are they all are in limbo whilst they await a new CEO taking the reigns? I hope she/he can breathe some life back into the administration....hell even the kangaroos are flogging us in the off-field department. E.g. Where are the Red & Blue Army / 150th Birthday T-shirts?..and if we make them, lets pile them high and sell them cheap e.g. $20.00 so the whole family can be decked out!
  8. I do, because footy is a competition both on and off the field! You might not like Eddie, but since he's arrived at the helm of the filth they have seized the initiative time and time again. Administration, Facilities, Marketing, Sponsorship...they have outpointed us for years. I [and I suspect many others] have had a gutfull of that! The new stadium and its facilities will be a great boost to our playing list, whilst thats being built let's all think of postive ways to help the MFC. Most of our ideas may not see the light of day...but some might. And our enthusiasm can only give heart to our more tepid supporters.
  9. That's right Redfin...and Brocky...please FGS, not FFS, we're all on the same side here!
  10. Good on you Pates, Club's organised one for QB you say....so that's when their starting the marketing drive? Aycarumba
  11. For God's sake don't let a filth supporter see that or they will laugh themselves silly. It sounds like a quote from Sergeant Wilson in Dad's Army This is the Red & Blue Army...repent Sunday Morning - March Sunday afternoon!
  12. OK, At the risk of the club already having something planned in the pipeline... How about we Demonlanders lead the charge of the RED and BLUE ARMY How: Sunday 23rd meet at 3.00 PM at Fed Square, gather and make some noise for a 3:30 PM and March to the G. Groundwork 1/ Indicate how many of us can make it, including offspring etc, and ensure we have critical mass 2/ Contact the MFC, let them know its on [coordinate] and hopefully they can put it on the MFC website 3/ We get the MFC cheersquad involved as well...its not a proper March without the banners and they would make a good rallying point 4/ Get John So and as many celeb's as possible to join us [I'm just not pretty enough to warrant media exposure] 5/ Any muso's amongst us..especially trumpet players / wind instruments Moderators...is there a function on this website that allows Demonlanders to indicate whether they are up for this or not?
  13. Thats a shame, Dew wouldnt like lining up on Pettard. Pettards too fast and too skinny...not enough for Stuey to eat!
  14. I want to see Martin in the line up too...however I'm speculating as to how DB will have us line up. Anyone got any more insights into how the Dorks will line up...I dont know much about them...probably because as soon as they are on I change channels...who wants to spend their spare time watching 22 men running around dressed like partially full colostomy bags?
  15. Aye...no Jared hurts, assuming Bruce, Whelan, Dunn all unavailable as well Williams Roughhead Boyle Bell Carroll Frawley [is he fit?] Dew Franklin Bateman Pettard Miller Yze Morton Sewell Ellis Buckley McLean Morton ??????? Croad ??????? Robertson Bate Davey ?????? Jacobs ??????? Green Neitz Newton Campbell Tuck ????? White Jones McDonald Taylor Guerra ????? ????? Meesen Moloney Sylvia Bartram What to change? What to rearrange?
  16. DB is all about Round 1. The Dork's have their problems, any ideas [educated, informed, or otherwise] about how they will line up? Interested in your feedback...David Dunbar please feel welcome to contribute as well.
  17. Ummm...Whelan and Rivers round 3....which is about 4 to 6....the dreaded 426 I wonder??? Hoping to be wrong of course
  18. Getting dressed up as Prince Harry in Combat Fatigues If the Taliban can't find you in their own backyard then what hope do the "Dorks" have?
  19. Thanks Andy...just put some money in the "tin"
  20. Oui Queen C. Its simple, look sharp, got substance...the old logo I think looked "Kiddie" to adults, and sinister to little kiddies. And as long as it doesnt have the Darwin River embedded into it [ala the Opera House & the Swannies] then I'm happy enough
  21. I have got the costings back from APN, all up it would cost $112,000 for a 3 carriage MaxiTram for 12 week period including decking the tram out etc. Basis the following assumptions: 1/ New members signing up 1/3 are Red & Blue, 1/3 are MFC/MCC Premium, and 1/3 are MFC/MCC Standard. 2/ No support from corporate sponsors. Breakeven on the exercise would be about 950 members...not too hard a hurdle that considering were currently 10 to 11,000 short of our target of 30,000 Of course its a great opportunity for corporate sponsorship so the B/E membership numbers shoudl drop dramatically so it looks feasible enough to me.
  22. BB I have emailed the MFC corporate department outlining the MFC 150th - Get On Board tram concept, PR opportunities, Financing solutions etc. Will let you know if and when I get a response
