  1. Good luck Jack! You'll be in the red and blue before too long!! I'm also yearning for Juice!!
  2. Forget it. Moving heaven and earth will surely mean giving up our first round draft pick and a promising young player. He can go to the filth for all I care.
  3. This guy has frustrated me for many years now. He is a dominant ruckman in the VFL, and I'm not using "dominant" lightly. He has been carving it up in the state league this year, and it annoys me that this form does not translate in the AFL. I still think he has as much ability as Darren Jolly, who we opted to trade out of Melbourne four years ago. Does his form in the VFL just confirm the discrepancy in standard between VFL and AFL, or is it simply that Jamar lacks the confidence to perform at AFL level?
  4. I watched some of last week's VFL game on ABC, and from what I saw he was pretty soft. Sorry guys, but I think we might have lost out of that deal.
  5. This is really an extension of Yze_Magic's thread about gaining an extra pick in the top 10-15. Now my old man knows someone from Port Adelaide who said that Port were having a look at Daniel Bell. Apparently Choco doesn't mind him (he likes tough, rugged defensive players - look at Michael Wilson). I doubt whether Port would give up a top 20 pick for Bell, but looking at their list a good trade could be Daniel Bell to Port, Robbie Gray to Melbourne (since he is a Burwood boy). I'm loathe to start making predictions about trade week now (still 4 months away) but it's an interesting exercise!!
  6. Really good young player - loved his first goal on Sunday where he received the ball off half-back then sprinted 100 metres to the forward line to take a mark on the lead. The man's got ticker.
  7. Gee I'm glad we chose Brock over Tenace in the 2003 (?) draft. That's one we got right.
  8. I say just give the captaincy to the man and see how he goes. He always plays with a bit of fire in the belly, and making him captain just might bring the best out of him - on a consistent basis!! BRAD MILLER FOR CAPTAIN
  9. In the words of the late Clinton Grybas: NEEEEEEWWWWTTTTTOOOONNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I'm salivating over that forward line. I love Miller - have always stood up for him - his attitude cannot be questioned. Personally, I think he is captaincy material.
  11. I agree with the first three, but I would seriously consider Boyle. He's young and talented, and would fit nicely into most forward lines. As for Kosi, I like the idea of having him but I wouldn't want to give up a first-rounder. People are talking about him playing forward - he has been used in the backline in the past with great effect as well. I might as well propose a trade: Sylvia and third-round pick (pick 35 to 45) for Kosi. I wouldn't give up any more given he is injury-prone and has not performed to his ability for some time.
  12. I think he's been a little soft. On Footy Classified last night, he said that he didn't attend the walk to the 'g because he had other commitments and he didn't realise that it was on anyway!! Come on, Gaz!!
  13. Gee I think you're being a little generous. I lost count of the number of times our boys turned their players 360 degrees in a tackle and were not rewarded. I thought there was an interpretation some weeks ago that if you turn a player 360 degrees and they have not disposed of the ball BEFORE the full rotation then it is holding the ball.
  14. I have to admit, I have plenty of time for Caro Wilson as a footy journo. She is not afraid to call it as it is, and most of the time she is correct. She's a brave soul in a male-dominated industry.
  15. I noticed Gary Lyon questioned Malthouse quite extensively about the comments on Footy Classified last night. To me, Lyon didn't seem to be too happy about it. Lyon asked him about the Collingwood-Geelong game and Malthouse more or less admitted that they were more switched on for that game given the Cats were a top 2 team. He then went onto admit that the Pies were "flat" yesterday. Lyon rightfully jumped on that assertion saying that it is "contradictory" to have a go at the Dees for getting up for some games, and performing so poorly in others. Good on you Gary. The guy's a tool - a totally baseless argument, no substance whatsoever.
  16. The huddle - an overrated tactic used by many clubs which more often than not results in a turnover.
  17. I love Belly's endeavour, but his decision-making is often disgraceful and he has absolutely no peripheral vision. I really hope the guy can turn the corner because he had a really solid year last year. PS - He should never kick in again.

    Newton

I heard the same interview and was interested (and a little surprised!!) to hear Bailey say that Newton is "lightning quick". Perhaps we have the wrong mail on Juice!!
  19. Don't mind that team. Replace CJ with Buckley and Jamar with PJ. I think time is up for Yze.

    Bartram

Point taken, but people are judging him too harshly considering he has just returned from a serious knee injury which kept him to 1 game last year. And if his game on McLeod wasn't sensational, then it was very good. Form slumps have to start somewhere.

    Bartram

I agree with dazzle. Making ridiculous, sensationalist claims that Bartram is a "goner" is not going to help the kid. There is plenty of upside with him. Why did Daniher, and now Bailey, play him so much?? Because he is a goer and more often than not he beats, or at least breaks even, with his man. His game on McLeod against Adelaide the other week was sensational (in a 70+ point losing side mind you!!). Give the guy a break!!
  22. No. Throw down the gauntlet - give Matty Warnock the job and play Holland forward.
  23. Robbo will be back. Yes, it's serious but the man bleeds for this football club and I believe he still has plenty to offer. Best of luck in your recovery Robbo!!
